Chapter 6.
Don't blame me.
Kate knelt before Leo and begged him to be a father to her for once and even though she was too old to want him to be the father of her inner child, she wanted him to at least show a little familiarity, not to be cruel, but the man simply pulled her hair and slapped her three times.
Each one of them brought her back to reality, she was humiliating herself to get nothing, because Leo told her: you are my damn daughter, if I say you live, you will live; if I say you die, you will die; you are the only harvest I have had for 27 damn years and at this point I want to get the fruits of the damn harvest of 27 years.
I understand that you say right now that you don't want to get married, but in the future when you see the fruits you will regret saying that you didn't want to get married, so get out of my office and go back to your room, I ordered a perfect outfit to be prepared.
Harrison is coming tonight and you better behave, after all you are my daughter, you carry my blood and the bones in your body were formed thanks to my DNA, her crystallized eyes kept looking at him.
The man was cruel like no other, he cared absolutely nothing about what she could feel, and as she went back up to the room she couldn't stop thinking that the man was simply wrapping her up like a small present for another family, it was sick and disgusting to think that her biological father was totally disgusting; and she regretted that her inner child always portrayed that her father was a wonderful man when she didn't even know him, even though as he had said that her bones were formed thanks to his DNA, everything was power, but that is what is supposed to be exercised in the world in which he lives and now that he is integrating me into that world, everything feels unreal, she only wanted to return home with mom, sell the cookie shop and escape to another country.
Until that moment everything felt distant like a very distant dream, and the worst thing was that in that distant dream in which she saw herself, she never believed that the mafias still existed today.
She thought that they had disintegrated and dismantled each and every one 100 years ago or more, but realizing that they had not disappeared, but that they exercised power over power, was even more disturbing, so as she closed the door of the room her heart did not stop racing.
Everything was normal for them, because they lived daily in that world, but for her this was worse than a university test and she felt as if they were killing all her intelligence and she did not have her brain but her body, which was the only currency that Leo could trade with Harrison in order to exercise stronger ties.
Her cheeks burned and the tears that were making their way there reminded her that this was not a child's game, that she should not reproach Leo again and that no matter what happened later in the night, she had no other option, but to keep quiet and nod in silence…
