Chapter 4.
A short film.
Almost as if it had been premeditated, the cameras started recording. She was shirtless and shaking her tits in front of the captain. The nurse was walking down the hall when she opened the door and said: I think you had fun today.
Damian stood up and said smiling to the nurse: Today was very satisfying, so I hope you'll reserve me a day of exclusivity with her each week.
The nurse, a little flirtatious, said: We'll see how we fix this matter while she moved her fingers to indicate that he had to pay if he wanted a day of exclusivity.
So Damian said goodbye to Olive and followed the nurse to the end of the institution where they gave him his bag back and told him that he had to pay for his next visit around a point of Inkittian gold... amazed, the captain told her that he would bring the payment the day he went to see her.
After that she left and while he was walking he remembered everything she had told him, it was clear that she was an intelligent woman, she would probably be a good investigator, she had what it took to shine on her own, her problem was that she had messed with the wrong people.
Surely she must have been living a hell during this time, and he wondered to what level of depravity the government reached to let even children be there, if this was justice he did not want to know what injustice was.
While he watched the video for the fourth time he wondered to what level of depravity the government must be, because the main financier to maintain the facilities of that psychiatric hospital was the government, so they must know everything that happened there and with the high resolution that the cameras had he wondered how rotten society was to record such impure acts with children, girls, teenagers, adults and even elderly people.
¿What did they do with the videos? ¿Who consumed that kind of material? Only someone who is mentally disturbed could do it… no wonder most of the patients were sentenced to life imprisonment, because it is not in the government's interest that any of them be released.
¿What if all the filth that goes on in there were revealed? It would be the scandal of the century and there would surely be many dead…
So from there he went to the nearest bar and ordered a few drinks until his body told him he couldn't go on… then he went out and walked through the cold night singing his late wife's favorite songs, dancing in the middle of the road, anyone could mistake him for some lunatic, but ¿Isn't it true that lunatics see the world as you really are?
And if this were true the world is lost, humanity is beyond repair, there are only a few people who can see everything clearly, but they are silenced, disappeared or declared mentally unstable: all always ordered by some high-level hunter.
“What a decadent piece of trash humanity has become…”
When Damian woke up he was in a vacant lot, he didn't know how he had gotten there, nor did he care to know, surely the alcohol had done its job, because he didn't remember.
It wasn't until then that he realized he was in one of the gardens on Patrick Tempus' property, it was as if his subconscious had taken him there.
This would never have happened to him normally, but he was there, he had to take advantage of the opportunity, unfortunately he realized that he was unarmed, so he was practically in the lion's den, he knew that he had to get out of there soon or he would end up 15 m underground, or under the sea, or incinerated or sold on the black market, but he knew that it would not end well.
However, his body did not seem to understand what his mind wanted and while his mind screamed get out of there, his body walked towards the property, ¿why the hell was he walking towards the house?
Only a crazy person would do it, but what did he have to lose, probably nothing, since at this point in his life, he believed that he had even lost his dignity...
Then, he saw that there was an open door and without thinking he entered there getting the scare of his life, because right there standing with her eyes closed was Patrick's wife, Ariadna Naxos, but as much as Foster tried not to faint, he noticed that the woman seemed practically lifeless, as if she were not real, so without thinking, he pulled a hair from her head, but she didn't move, she didn't make a sound.
That was strange behavior, very strange, he didn't care, so he crossed the threshold of the other door... the house was huge, its walls screamed luxury everywhere and then he heard the voice coming from somewhere in the house.
Patrick seemed to be talking to another person, it was a man, that conversation seemed informal so anyone would say it was a relative, but trying to hide he went back to where he was.
He had entered, however, before leaving he heard the name of the subject, it was Richthofen.
That was recorded in Foster's subconscious who left that house like the devil himself and ran as far away as he could from that property until he reached the place where he had woken up.
He was crazy, his heart was beating a thousand miles an hour and yet he had risked entering his enemy's house... after walking for a while along the paths of the garden where he had woken up, he managed to see a small hole in the ground, you could say that a dog had entered there, but it had not been him.
After crossing it, he ran regardless of how tired he was and did not stop until he reached his house, where once he crossed the door, he closed it, locked it, put one of his decorative tables as a security method and wondered where he had gotten the courage to do that; although it was true that he had risked his life in the army when he was younger, this was an adventure on another level.
And so, without caring about anything, he wrote down the name he had heard in a notebook and put it on the board where he had each of the pieces of the Patrick Tempus and Olive Rodriguez case, everything seemed to be clear.
This man must have been someone very close to him to have the privilege of speaking informally with Patrick, perhaps he had killed his wife, so he wondered if Patrick was not the murderer but simply an accomplice who provided information about the victims to this man… it was a very small possibility, but it made sense.
