The Omega kidnapping incident lessened after two weeks when they heard that the crown prince had ordered the death sentence of those involved. While it is a shame that the Duke wasn’t able to arrest the mastermind, at least his son and the futures of the remaining Omegas in the kingdom are going to be safe.
Apart from the two high-ranking nobles who were kidnapped and a few handful of royal knights, there were lower ranked nobles and commoners in the other wagons that were rescued by the second prince.
One of those people happens to be a struggling playwright, who witnessed from afar what had happened between the second prince and the Duke’s heir.
It somehow lit a spark of creativity in him, and he wrote up a storm for a play that is heavily influenced by the two, always having his ear close to news regarding them. Especially when the two had become close then seemingly having a falling out during the kidnapping situation.
It took him three years to polish it to perfection and when he found a producer that was willing to produce his play, it became a sensational hit amongst the commoners but most especially to the nobles.
They do love tragedy stories after all.
“I want to watch this play. Won’t you come with me?” Nineteen year old Siane said with a smile as she had tea time with her brother in one of the palace gardens. A slim alexandrite engagement ring, adorned with tiny diamonds on the the side, sits on her left ring finger, along with a crossed-over white gold wedding diamond band.
Most think this is another way of the crown prince’s declaration of love and that their wedding will be announced soon but little did the public know, Casimir already officiated their wedding two years ago, with the small attendance of the Duke, their siblings and their aides.
Of course, the crown prince is still planning a grand wedding with her but he’d rather secure her to his side.
Mikael grimaced at the thought of going to watch a play that shows some connection to the kidnapping years ago. Not to mention, he noticed that the protagonists of the story seem to be loosely based on him and the second prince.
While he did make up with the second prince during the secret wedding, the two weren’t as close as before.
Not to mention, Tan still hasn’t lifted the blind, pretending to forget it every time they meet.
No one knows if he had been reprimanded already for it but Tan has been actively avoiding him since then. Not even an exchange of letters happened between the two of them for the past few years.
“Must we? You don’t like sad stories, Sisi.”
“It won’t hurt to try new things.”
“Why don’t you go with Prince Calisto? Surely he’d say yes.”
“Cali is busy with work turnovers. He’s basically the king with all the work he’s doing for the kingdom. I had urged him to get crowned already but he says it’s not yet the right time to force his father off the throne.”
Mikael shook his head. It’s only with his sister that he’d casually hear deposing a king whereas it could be treated as treason in another place.
It has been revealed some months ago that Calisto wasn’t an ordinary Alpha, but an Enigma. Thanks to Casimir’s research for two years, he found a record within the royal archives that spoke of Enigmas and its characteristics that fits Calisto down to the tiniest details. This revelation has elevated the crown prince’s power and status within the Court and secured Siane’s position further as crown princess.
Now, Calisto is busy securing the Court’s power within his hands, slowly taking over the King’s duties and carefully putting pressure on his father to willingly relinquish his crown to him.
Mikael only sighed, knowing his excuses will not fly at all in front of his sister. He had the butler of House Canaels run to get tickets for the play once he returned home.

The opening night of the play saw many nobles lining up in one of the theaters, going up to the private boxes on the second and third floors while commoners filled the seats on the first floor; a few handful of upstart nobles were also on the first floor.
As for Siane and Mikael, they were seated at the third floor box right next to the stage; as it is not a royal family owned theater, Mikael has to fork over more to get a good seat for his sister who wanted to go incognito with him.
Wearing simple yet expensive clothes, the siblings hide their famous reddish pink hairs under blonde wigs that were simply styled for the night, while Siane used magic to change their eye colors to lilac. While Mikael wanted to protest that she didn’t have to turn his eye colors to a different one, he kept quiet as he didn’t want to ruin his sister’s night.
Ever since she had awakened, she never got the chance to let down her guard and relax for real, as there were families out there wanting to drag her off and replace her. It wasn’t as intense as they expected but it still took a toll on her mental health.
It was only thanks to Calisto’s passion-obsessed promise during their secret wedding that she was able to rest easy for a bit and enjoy her life as crown princess.
“Look, is that the playwright?” Siane asked as a person came up to the stage.
“No, probably a stage director.” Mikael replied as he peered at them. “From the photos I’ve seen of the playwright, he’s scruffier than that. He doesn’t look like a sneaky little rat.”
Siane laughed heartily at that. “It’s only rumors that it was loosely based on you two. You don’t have to be so angry about it.”
“We’ll see about that.”

The play started out normal, with two youngsters playing the lead roles. However things started to change up a bit when a love rival was introduced, a young priest-looking character that got Siane trying her best not to laugh.
“Did the playwright think there’s something going on with Tan and Casimir?” She said as she stifled her laughter, gripping her brother’s clothes tightly.
“Didn’t the program say this is a tragedy? Why are you laughing?” Mikael replied with a deadpan expression.
“I can’t help it. It’s pretty obvious to me that they really based it on you two. I told you that earring will get you into trouble. He didn’t even lift it off.”
Mikael coughed, looking away. “It’s also my fault as I…ignored his letters out of pettiness…”
The play continued, with an insert song every now and then, and when the story reached its climax, the crowd was surprised by the scene before them.
As the sun prop sunk down and the moon prop appeared, they saw the person playing the role of Mikael sneak out of his home and into the forest, where he had agreed to meet with one playing the role of Tan. He waited for him, only for a lioness, who had recently eaten for her dinner, appeared. The blood on the lion costume looked real one would think that real danger poses for the actor and the crowd.
“Mikael” hid from the lioness, only to leave his cloak behind in his haste. The lioness chanced upon it and somehow wiped its muzzle on it, leaving a lot of traces of blood from its muzzle.
When “Tan” saw this much later, he lamented for arriving late and killed himself, in time to be seen by “Mikael”.
“Mikael” held “Tan” with tears in his eyes, as they both reconciled at the last moments of the “prince’s” life.
“I can’t believe this is a hit.” Mikael grumbled. “How is this a hit? Prince Tanashiri will not act stupidly, not even for love.”
“You sound certain.” Siane commented as she continued to watch how “Casimir’s” character showed up to try and heal the downed character. “Though I agree. The real tragedy here is Casimir still being overworked.”
Mikael scowled, leaning his head on his knuckles. “He’s not moved by the attempts of a beautiful omega like Lady Eufemia Ferrer, nor does he falter when dealing with Casimir. He’s the kind of man that will make you wonder if he’s really an Alpha or a Beta pretending to be an Alpha.”
“You sound displeased, brother.”
“I’m only stating facts.”
Siane glanced at him for a moment. She has a feeling that her brother is feeling a bit strung along by Tan, since the second prince has been working with Omegas recently as the new Captain of a newly made knights brigade tasked to partner up with the mage brigade under the crown princess’s order now that she’s been officially named the successor to the Tower Master.
“You know that Tan is only following Cali’s footsteps regarding not caring about Secondary traits and instead focusing on one’s abilities.”
“I don’t understand why you’re explaining to me. I am not jealous or anything, nor do I have the right to be.”
Siane pursed her lips, looking at her brother before pointing at the ending scene before them. “If you two won’t reconcile, that thing will happen to you.”
“Fat chance. Why would I go out to the forest alone to meet with him?”
