Chapter 10.
Meanwhile Reena was pouring out her feelings in a painting she was painting in the surroundings of her house, spilling drops of paint on the grass, listening to the birds sing and having the company of some squirrels that came to see what she was doing, when suddenly a hand was placed on her right shoulder and looking up she saw that it was Darren who had come to enjoy this moment with her…
While the brush flowed on the canvas with the colors, the pleasant conversation between them flourished in the same way, laughter and giggles passed from one side to the other, then she asked him: can others see you?, and he told her: only you can see me, then she understood why for a while she had been talking to him, the people who passed by the place looked at her differently, because they were only seeing her talking to herself and laughing alone, for them she was already going crazy and they did not understand that she could see beyond what any of them can see, and they would never understand or believe that no matter what of her They said, she let herself be captivated by the intense look he gave her and by the way he guided her hand with the brush to paint the picture, it was like the sunset or maybe like twilight.
Fate is cruel and makes them meet in such a strange way, but at the same time so funny, the hours passed and she didn't care about anything of what the others said, because they were still immersed in their own world.
Darren invited her to dance when the grey clouds settled in the sky... and laughing, with her clothes soaked and a ruined painting, she danced barefoot in that place, she went over that moment with her hands and let every detail be saved in her memory; Neither of them knew how to dance and there was no music, the rain was the most romantic sound and symphony they had and their bare feet moved to the rhythm of that same rain... after a while they lay down on the grass and looked at the rainy sky... they began to try to find shapes in the clouds, to see how beautiful that moment was and when their eyes connected, she sighed and looked away and when she saw the painting she laughed, as it was funny because the painting reflected the moment well since it had transformed into abstract lines drawn by the rain. So she told him: you have to sign it, and he told her: only you can feel me, through you I can touch other objects, I can't sign the painting if you don't sign it first, and so, she took him by the hand making him get up immediately and running next to the painting she signed it and said: look at my signature Darren, it's there, now it's your turn and then he, feeling a little pressure, put his signature and then looked at it and said with the warmest words he could: it's ready Reena, now the painting is ours. Taking it inside she left it in the library to dry and because it is a good place to keep it, when she turned around and closed the door she saw it and it was already dry, while she was still wet, can you not get wet?, and he told her: I only allowed the rain to touch me to make you happy, but you really don't feel anything, coming closer, she placed her hand on his chest and staring at him, she asked him: you still don't feel anything, and he brushed her wet hair from her face said: I'm sorry, but I can't lie to you.
Reena ran upstairs and locked herself in her room, went into the bathroom, took off her clothes, put on something warmer and looking straight into the mirror, she wondered why he can't feel the same as me; why the rain can't get him wet; why day can't be night; why does love have to be so difficult...
