Cory
Cory is a mess.
After everything that had happened, he’s not sure what he is going to do next after it. It’s like nothing is going right for him and now, he is in danger, and it could end up being much worse for him if this person is after him.
A part of him is wondering if it is Lynx doing this, warning Cory about what he is capable of. It wouldn’t surprise Cory, but he didn’t want to think that Lynx would stoop low enough to scare him half to death. At least, that is what he hoped for, but Cory couldn’t be sure because he knows what kind of person Lynx is.
The dangerous man who has no qualms with making everyone know what kind of a person he is.
Cory doesn’t want to go to the Underground, seeing how he has been making mistake after mistake, but he knows if he calls out, Lynx will come from him. He only has one more day to go to work here until next Friday, so he just has to get through it and hope for the best.
Surprisingly enough, Lynx hasn’t made an appearance since the last time they saw one another, and it is making Cory feel a little on edge. He has no clue why not seeing Lynx is making him feel this way but he’s just trying to go through the motions and hopefully keep his mind off of everything. Right now, Lynx has been yelled at by Vex more times than he would like to admit but he has just come to the conclusion that Vex has something against him.
Maybe with time, Cory will figure it out.
Except of course, he’s going to keep doing it.
He is in another skimpy outfit, but it is less revealing than some of the ones that he has had to wear for so long. Thankfully, the most revealing part about it is that the leather shorts he wears ride up his butt a little bit, but it is covering everything that matters. He is finally wearing a thin shirt as well, so it looks like everything is pretty good.
But the only problem is that he has to wear heels and before he realizes it is happening, he trips forward and spills the drink down a patrons back. Cory is stunned, apologizes passing through his lips but it is like he isn’t hearing anything.
Vex is storming towards him, pissed, and Cory wonders if this time he is really going to be in a lot of trouble. He just bows his head, knowing that Vex is yelling at him in front of everyone but he doesn’t know what is being said. If it’s going to end up being anything that Cory could handle.
It's a sickening feeling, making him want to run away but another part of him isn’t clear about what is going to come from it.
“Cory.” He hears a familiar voice call to him, making him look up.
Why was his name being spoken?
Lynx is moving through the crowds, everyone quickly giving him space as they know it is not a good idea to get in his way. As if on instinct, Cory is moving towards him, the weird feelings washing over him as all he can do is feel like he needs to get to Lynx and quickly.
The worry on Lynx’s face is enough to tell Cory something and it terrifies him to wonder what’ll end up coming next. Cory stumbles into Lynx’s arms, feeling how Lynx wraps them around him, making sure that Cory is steady enough. Cory can only cling to Lynx, feeling like everything has just come crashing down.
“Please help me.” Cory whispers in a hoarse tone before passing out in Lynx’s arms.
Almost immediately, Lynx sweeps Cory into the cradle of his arms and is rushing through the room to get up to his private section. The thought that Cory might be sick or injured is making him feel quite odd and he doesn’t like it one bit. Vex has been quick to follow although Lynx didn’t want him anywhere near Cory when he saw how Cory was being treated.
“Call for a doctor.” Lynx instructs Vex, knowing that Vex is not going to be able to protest.
Lynx doesn’t stop until he makes it to his office, getting inside and shutting the door behind them that way nobody is going to be able to follow them inside unless he permits it. Laying Cory on the couch, Lynx is quick to inspect him, worried about Cory having something wrong with him.
No wounds.
Nothing seems wrong.
Lynx’s eyebrows furrow with confusion as he is trying to figure out what is going on. Cory doesn’t seem like the kind of person to let things get to him, so it has to be pretty hard on him to allow anything else like this to happen. Right now, Cory belongs to Lynx and there is no way that he is going to be able to let him go while there is so much to be done.
The scary part about it is there’s no way in hell that Lynx is going to let anything else come from it. He isn’t sure what’ll come from it, but he is quite sure that if anything else, there’s going to be a lot of blood on his hands the minute that he realizes what is going on.
Maybe Cory will be more willing to turn towards him for help. Lynx might be blackmailing Cory for his own enjoyment, but he is quite sure that it’s going to be a lot of fun before the end of it. One way or another, Lynx will get to the bottom of this and Cory better hope that nothing bad is happening.
Lynx isn’t keen on letting his playthings get hurt.
Judas
“Are you sure you should be teaching me how to shoot a gun?” Judas asks, feeling the heavy weight in his hands as they are in the backyard where Lucifer had made a makeshift shooting ring since he can’t take Judas out, “wouldn’t you be afraid that I would end up shooting you instead?”
Lucifer chuckles, helping Judas get into the proper position, “trust me, I could handle you even if you were to try to shoot me. But right now, I need to make sure that you’re going to be able to protect yourself if someone comes in here who might try to do either one of us harm. It does happen, so I need to make sure that you can do it.”
Judas hesitates, not liking the fact that he is insinuating that Judas might have to kill someone at some point. When he cracked Lucifer across the head, it made him sick to think that he might have killed him. But here, Lucifer is warning him that he might have to use the gun and shoot someone in the process. That scares him because the minute that he goes down that path, there is no turning back.
“In this world, you have to show no mercy.” Lucifer reminds him, his expression growing colder with every passing second, “because if I’m being honest, they have no issue with killing you in return. You will be nothing to them, and if you are standing in their way, then they will handle you how they see fit. You won’t be able to survive, Judas. They will eat you alive.”
Lucifer put up targets for him to shoot at, taking aim and trying to calm his thoughts so he didn’t end up shooting the wrong thing. But there’s something more that he is aware of, something that draws him in. Nervously gnawing on his lip, he is aware of how close Lucifer is to him, how the heat is radiating off of his body. How he is so aware of how close they are together.
“Just imagine your worst enemy as the target.” Lucifer whispers in his ear, making Judas shudder a little bit as he is forced to stare straight ahead, preparing for what is to come, “and it’ll get easier with time. Soon enough, it won’t bother you to shoot whoever is on the other end of your gun. Show no mercy because they will not hesitate to kill you…”
Judas exhales slowly, trying to calm his unsteady breaths as he is paying attention to his target. He should turn the gun on Lucifer, shoot him where he stands and not give a damn. Unforutnately, he already knows that it wouldn’t end well for him so he decides to fire the gun at his targets, seeing the cans drop one-by-one until they were all on the ground.
He couldn’t believe that he hit every one of them, his eyebrows rising in surprise as he is trying to figure out how he did it. Lucifer doesn’t look too surprised, gripping Judas’ shoulder, making Judas look up at him with confusion. Judas isn’t sure what he is seeing, but Lucifer’s next words chill him to his core.
“Well, I think we can make a killer out of you yet.”
