“Love, either leave or keep your growls to yourself. You know that I can’t stand those who try to be of Higher Rank when I’m sitting right here.”
“I didn’t think it was that bad,” Love muttered. I held back a growl and decided to see how he’ll react when I mention on taking another mate.
“So If I were to take on an Alpha Female for a Mate,” I know it was low of me but I do know that I have a choice when it comes to Mates. With Dr. Sparrow here, Love is out Ranked twice and I know he won’t dare question me about wanting someone else. It will also let him know that I don’t need him after my Training. I can’t tell if he’s mad or not and I’m tempted to kick him out since he doesn’t really need to be here from what was talked about already.
“Alpha Female’s are more sensitive to their Mates needs. They are the better suited for a First Mate than any other just like Beta Female’s and Omega Female’s. No matter who you choose as a Mate it will be respected.” I wasn’t expecting this feeling, like warm water washed over me. It soon turned to ice when Love growled. “It’s also more likely that she will impregnate you as her chances are higher than you getting her pregnant. It can happen but since Omega-Born’s are naturally more fertile it’s nearly unheard of.”
“Great, is there an option to neuter the Alpha’s?” Love didn’t like my joke but Dr. Sparrow seemed to be in stitches if the smirk was anything to go by.
“No, sorry Delta Angel.” I leaned back in my chair folding my arms softly huffing. Clearly Love didn’t want to continue talking about such things but I still wanted to know more. Alpha’s were indeed interesting, I wanted to know what made them strong and why. I wanted to know what made Justice hate Alpha’s so much. “Beta’s are a different story, a Beta Female can not get you pregnant so that’s something to think about.”
“Very little chance of getting him pregnant is there?” I nodded towards Love and heard him growl while Dr. Sparrow was once again in stitches. It’s very clear that Love hated being here and trying to calm him down was not working. My only escape was jokes since I choose to be powerless.
“Alpha Male’s have no womb, Delta Angel. If you could get him pregnant then I would question my entire exisitance.” I was taking a drink from the water and cough from the unexpected joke from Dr. Sparrow.
It took a few coughs for me to finally talk, “Moving o-hm hem on. Since Omega-Born’s are technically both genders, is it just how we were raised?”
“You can be who you want,” I was relieved to hear this, I wasn’t sure if it was my choice or my parents who choose. The other wolves have distinct parts that make them Male and Female but Omega’s didn’t. “You can become a Female for a few days by choice or remain Male or if you prefer both. It’s up to you, what makes you feel comfortable. It won’t change who you are.”
“Since I’m Omega-Born, what will my pups be?”
“Omega-Born’s are facinating, no matter your partner you’ll get Beta’s, if Alpha you’ll have a higher chance of getting Alpha’s and Beta’s. If the Alpha is Female, you’ll have a higher chance of getting Omega’s. If your partner is Omega then you’ll get all three, like I said it’s rare but not impossible.”
“So my Mom is an Alpha Female?” I asked putting it together. It made sense, Dad was mostly looking after me and Mom stayed home keeping house.
“Correct, your Father is an Omega-Born but chose to become an Alpha. While your Mother is an Alpha-Born and choose to be an Omega.”
“Omega-Born’s normally take care of the pups right?”
“To some degree, it’s the job of both Parents to take care of the Offspring. In most cases it’s the Omega-Born’s that take care of the Pups since they have a natural Mother-like instinct and develop a deeper connection to the Pup.”
“Do all Pups...” I can’t really put my words together.
“Seperation?” Dr. Sparrow asked and I was glad that the man can read minds.
“Yeah,” I wanted to know if me being far from them was hurting them.
“Seperation between Parents and Pups is normal, as soon as the Pup can form sentnces and walk they are sent to the Omega District for early schooling. After a year there they are to take the Omega Test. After the test they are assigned to their Second Gender. Of course it’s not permanent as we can choose where we want to go once we find our wolves.”
“So, Alpha’s?” I asked, not caring how much Love disliked the topic. His fur’s been in a bunch ever since we left his house. Actually, I can always come back and ask. Nothing’s really stopping me from coming back and asking more questions. But since we’re here now I’ll ask the burning ones.
“Alpha-Born’s have Ruts. It is normally caused by an Omega-Born’s Season, it is also a normal reaction once every 3 months. The Alpha Anatomy is to make sure the Mate will get pregnant.” Dr. Sparrow’s explantion is short, possibly to make sure that Love doesn’t go off. “The Alpha’s have a strong desire to Mate when in contact with an Omega in Season. The after effects lasts for a minute to fifteen minutes, while the Anatomy can stay for as long as half an hour to an hour.”
“There’s no need to further this conversation, Dr. Sparrow,” Love growled out the name. This is really bothersome, it seems that I’ll have to come back and ask later.
“What was that Omega Song again, Love?” I challenged and partly warned. I had it with him trying to control what I can learn. I’m just glad that he doesn’t know what I can actually do while in Delta Training. “I remember you had the clas of 6 to 7 year old Omega-Born’s sing that song while I was forced to sit there.”
“What does that have to do with anything?” Love asked irritated. His eyes were dark and I could smell something digusting. Like spilled ink. I held my composure but Dr. Sparrow growled.
“Hm,” I mumbled trying not to set off the two Alpha’s but it wasn’t just them being tense. I was holding back for a very long time and it was starting to bare its fangs. “’We Omega’s are weak and feeble. Wandering around in the same spot, please Alpha make me enfeeble. Ready for your love knot,’ Should I go on?”
“That’s just a stupid song, why are you questioning it?” Love asked, I hated showing violence around Love because he didn’t like it. Today it felt like he was pushing it. I could feel electricity crackling between us as we kept eye contact. Either that or it was me, either wait it didn’t stop me from growling.
“The first few lines states that Omega’s are weak and stupid, that we need Alpha’s to be breeding bitches. And your teaching that to Children? If you’re okay with teaching that song to Pups then this should be of no issue. Yet you have a problem with it.”
“The song is mandatory! Why are you being difficult, just go back to the obedient Omega that you are!” Love froze. Does he not realize that I’m trying to keep myself from killing him? The only one that noticed was Dr. Sparrow if his calming scent was anyting to go by.
“Sure,” I growled deeply and seen Love flinch and look down, “I’ll be the Stupid and Weak Omega you want me to be. As a matter of fact why wait until I’m 18? Hey! Where are you going?”
He had gotten up and left.
“Should... should I have kept my mouth shut?” I asked feeling lightheaded.
“No, absolutely not! Voicing your opinions is good. Don’t worry about him,” Dr. Sparrow lightly growled, “he’ll stop being a pup by nightfall. What was it that you wanted to ask about Alpha’s?”
“Pheromone’s, why does it affect them so much?”
“When you get your First Heat you’ll become more aware of the scents around you. They’ll be sharp and overpowering. Since you’ve trained yourself to ignore the Controlling Scent it won’t be as overwhelming. In theroy.”
“Meaning?”
“Think of it like this, an Alpha’s scent is like a small room filled with flowers. But you’ve trained yourself to put all those flowers into a vase in the center of the room. Now reverse it. It’s the untrained Alpha’s that can’t control themselves and let themselves run wild.”
“I didn’t think that it was that serious,” I said not sure what I should feel. Was it a good thing that I’m not like other Omega-Born’s, I know I’m not with how I was trained.
“The Flowers repesents the other Gender, an Alpha will release a Controlling Scent. That will either state Territory or Calm a Distressed Omega-Born. Alpha’s use their scent for Power and Dominance over another Alpha or in some cases Omega.” Didn’t the Rouge Leader release something similar? Back then was I suppose to be weak? “Delta?”
“Sorry,” I sharply looked up at Dr. Sparrow and smelled a Calming Scent. I didn’t resist, I didn’t want to but Justice was growling at me to not subcome to the scent. When was the last time I let myself relax so much? This whole time Dr. Sparrow made sure that I wasn’t too aggressive and kept me calm.
I heard light scratching and slowly opened my eyes and glanced at my surroundings. “Calm, Delta. You’re still in my office. You fell asleep for 2 hours.”
“Two hours?” I asked as I sat up after hearing the command, I felt lightheaded and very light. “I should head back...”
“You are on Doctor’s Leave, you’ve been excused from Training for two days and will remain Up Top. I’ve noticed that you were neglecting your Instincts for a very long time, if the Self-Doubt and Identity Crisis wasn’t enough you were also dealing with Stress from both forms.”
I wanted to object but going against Orders was bad. I breathed in deeply and laid back down on my side to listen to the sounds around me.
It was strange that Dr. Sparrow’s scent is almost non-existant.
“I put on a Scent Clip on your nose, the Pheromone’s are filtered now. When you’re ready we can upgrade it to a piercing. Hopefully the headaches subsides and you won’t feel stressed as much.” There he goes with his mindreading trick, “I wasn’t expecting you to fall asleep, I was hoping to distract you from your spiralling thoughts and what had happened.”
“Was the world always this muted?” I asked. The strong scents weren’t back yet and I almost miss them.
“No, there was just a very loud sound before. The Scent Clip will control the volume now, you’ll have the normal scents back in about a day. The Scent Clip will actually help me figure out what you need for the Piercing. Have you decided what Position you’ll be taking?”
“Not a Medic that’s for sure, I’ve been enjoying Tracking.”
“Ah, a Point Black the new Tracker in the Stick. You looking to become a Point White?”
“Hopefully. I’m more worried about dealing with others, so far it hasn’t gone well.”
“That will come in due time, just worry about your Position in the Stick. You’ll be assigned to one that will suit your needs.”
“Not that, will they hate that I’m an Omega-Born? We’ll can’t really call myself that since I’m not, I’m also not an Alpha. Was it fate that I’m meant to be a Delta? Is what I’m doing really good for the Pack?”
“And what are you doing for the Pack?” Dr. Sparrow asked. He stopped his writing to look over at me, I tried to sniff to see what he was feeling and it was the same as before.
“Protecting it, I hope.”
“Before speaking with you, I spoke to your friends to get an idea of who you might be. Since your records are only gathered data of what you can do and you can only come up once a month. What they told me is that you do look after them. You’ve provided for them, protected them, listened to their troubles and settle disputes that rose in the Alpha Den.
“The Delta’s say that you are a hard worker and you have yet to let anything stop you. You just work harder until all is right again.
“The Previous Alpha’s had said you are a Just and Righteous Leader, you’ve always had the Alpha’s wellness in mind. You talk with them, you get their opinions and you always made sure that no blood is ever spilt. When you left they felt like they had no one to turn to, they were lost without you. When you came back and sorted everything out they worked like a well oiled machine.
“When you had returned, they felt like you will never abandon them no matter what happens. Even though they see you as an Alpha they did not forget that you are an Omega so they are keeping the strain off you as much as they can. Just so you can focus on your own Paw Path.
“It’s true that some resent you but the respect for you is far greater if anything they would lay their life for you. So I would say that you are doing a wonderul job Protecting the Pack. So far the Alpha’s have not treated the Omega-Born’s poorly because of the example you had set. You put it in the Omega-Born’s mind that they are strong and will continue to get stronger.”
