I breathe in and out through
my mouth with a pumping
and an anxious heart.
I'm sitting on the bed and
haven't even gotten done
with breakfast yet.
I look behind me to only
see a much smaller
window that I can't
reach.
It also seems as if
the sky's a cloudy
one.
Was I just daydreaming?
The sudden urge to weep
befalls me.
I cry and cry, not understanding
anything.
Didn't I just die?
The white bandages all over my
body are turning red.
A deep and dark sticky crimson.
There's that same click again from
the door.
The person who opens it is that
maid again.
She brings in a glass of water
and a black pill the size of a
quarter.
"W-who are you?" I asked.
Sudden rage overwhelms
me as I stand up, forgetting
the tray of breakfast as it falls
from my lap and smashes on
the ground.
"Take this pill and I will
tell you." The woman
promises, wearing
a small smile.
