After taking Bran and Markus to be checked on, both were found unconscious. Lucenio was taken to a private room under security, while Carter, Victor, Evelyn, Delion, and Lily went to Alexander's house. Once there, each of them went to different rooms.
"Search for anything important," Victor instructed. "They had a library full of books and a weapons room, but make sure they didn't hide anything here or there."
After thoroughly searching the house, they gathered in front of the weapons room where Victor stood by the door. "Gather everything," he said, and they started collecting the weapons. Victor, however, was looking for something specific. "That man... I can't find what I want. I just need this sword," he indicated to a sword hanged over.
Evelyn approached him, holding two drawings. "I found something in the kids' room that you need to see," she said.
Victor looked at the drawings and burst into laughter. "The cane... now I get it, that's me," he said, but his expression quickly turned angry. "Hurry, take whatever you want and burn the place down. We need to stop him now!"
They rushed back, where they found some guards knocked out and others searching. "Alexander... we forgot about someone," Victor said.
"Kai did this," Carter added.
"No, it was Rodolf," corrected one of the conscious guards.
"Hurry, send people to the western borders and the north," carter ordered.
"Think about it; Rodolf couldn't have done this alone. Kai must have helped him. He's the right hand of my brother and will do something unpredictable.Also the boy is injured and they need to find a refuge fast so he can recover so each second counts if they go by boat they will lose a lot of time also whpo can guarentee that they find a refuge and they cant go to our allied neighbors their only chance is that empire"
"you are right dad I'll lead some of our finest guards and hunt them down"
"No need son I prepared years for this day I agreed with some bandits there to catch any survivors or at least force them to go through the cedar forest now I will start the preparation for the next step"
The cart rattled violently as Rodolf, Kai, and the unconscious Lucenio,they went in full speed till Kai said:"Rodolf hold Lucenio problem up ahead"
moments after they saw a group of bandits led by a strong capable man"road closed mouse its eitheryou surrender or die in this forest" kai with no histitaion increased speed towards the bandits. With a thunderous crash, it exploded upon impact where he put some made bombs under the carriage, disorienting the enemy ranks. Grasping Lucenio firmly, Rodolf sprinted after Kai, cursing under his breath, "This bastard found a new route."
they went through a secret mountain terrain followed by the banditslead by their captain who now wants their head on a spike
after a couple of minute
“Stop,” Kai commanded, his voice cutting through the heavy silence.
“What’s wrong?” Rodolf asked.
Kai unsheathed his weapons. “We can’t proceed with this many in tow; we'll be caught.”
“I’ll distract them. You take the young master. I don’t know the way.”
“No, protect him while I handle them. I can’t let them keep tailing us, even if you buy us time.”
“I’ll help then,” the other insisted.
“Rodolf, you know who I am, right? Just stay back and deal with any who attack the boy.”
"that boy is the one we need the other two you can toy with them" said the bandits captain
after taking a good look at Kai he said to his right hand "hurry and call reinforcements that man is worrying me"
“Rodolf, cover the boy!” Kai shouted as he drew his sickles, a gleam of deadly intent in his eyes
Rodolf nodded, positioning himself between the unconscious Lucenio and the incoming attackers. His sword was drawn, a barrier between the young master and certain death. The first bandit lunged, a jagged dagger aimed for Lucenio’s heart. Rodolf parried the strike with a clang of steel, then countered with a swift thrust that sent the attacker stumbling backward.
Meanwhile, Kai moved like a shadow among the bandits dispatching foe after foe with precise, controlled movements. Each cut, each parry was executed with a dancer's grace and a warrior's lethal precision. He wove through the bandits, his strikes so fast they blurred into the whistling mountain wind.
Back at Lucenio’s side, Rodolf was a bastion against the onslaught. Another bandit advanced, wielding a heavy axe. Rodolf dodged a brutal swing , then responded with a slicing cut across the bandit’s thigh. As the man fell, clutching the wound, Rodolf turned just in time to block a crossbow bolt with his sword.
Kai, in the thick of battle, faced the bandit leader a giant of a man. The leader's two-hand sword swung with devastating power, but Kai’s agility saw him always a step ahead. Sparks flew as sickles met blade, the sound a deadly rhythm amidst the chaos he wasfighting the leader while trying to take on the most he can of the bandits to make it easier for Rodolf
"Join us, warrior!" the leader bellowed over the clash of metal. "End this bloodshed give us the boy as swore your blade to me!"
Kai’s response was a cold smile "did you ever saw a tiger follows a sheep?"
With a feint and a spin, he slipped past the leader’s guard. His blade sang a fatal arc, finding the gap in the bandit's armor. As the leader staggered, Kai turned to other bandits.
Rodolf was pushed to his limits, an enemy's blade knocking his sword away. The bandit—second-in-command and a master swordsman.
Kai seeing Rodolf on the brink of death and the thought of loosing Lucenio
"I need to finish this"
"let me see you try !" said the bandit's leader
with a cold killing look made the leader push backwards "All perish"
"Run idiots!"
“Too late,” Kai replied with a menacing grin.
Suddenly, lines of energy connected Kai to each bandit. In a blur of motion, his sickle arced through the air, decimating the enemy ranks doesnt care about screaming or begging . Heads and limbs were severed in a silent, deadly ballet, leaving only the captain, a few of his men, Rodolf, and an unconscious Lucenio in a macabre scene of carnage.
the leader tried to tale adventage of tired Kai not giving him time to even recover and to motivate his men
“FOR MY MEN!” The captain's voice broke through the chaos, desperate and fierce. With a reckless surge of adrenaline, he charged at Kai, his blade raised high.
Kai reacted with a swift slice through the air, severing three of the captain’s fingers and gouging out an eye in a single, fluid motion. The captain screamed, the sound piercing the tumult of battle.
Standing over the defeated captain, Kai's expression remained impassive, his weapon dripping with crimson. “I won’t kill you,” he said, his voice cold and unyielding. “Life is your greatest treasure, but I won't let you enjoy it.”
Before the captain could recover, Kai delivered two more devastating blows. The strikes were precise and cruel—removing an additional four fingers and inflicting grotesque injuries to the captain’s left eye and right ear. The captain’s cries turned into gurgles of agony.
"Carry the boy and lets go" kai commanded
As Kai walked away, he was covered in blood from the fight cleaning his weapons with a fast shaking. Behind him, the bandit captain lay on the ground, crying out in pain and swearing to get revenge.
"I will find you," the captain cried out, his voice filled with pain and anger. "I will get you back for this!"
Kai paused and looked back over his shoulder. His face was shadowed and his eyes were hard and cold.
"Then survive," Kai said in a deep voice. "Survive and come find me."
the three left the scene growing fainter as they moved further away. Only the sound of the wind and the captain's distant shouts filled the air.
