The person behind me shifted; I ducked, hit over my shoulder instead of my head. I fell harshly into the brick wall of the library, stopped as Jonny pressed a metal bat into my neck, holding me still. I really don’t want to do this tonight! I got my breath under control, slowing, focusing on myself.
“That bitch made me a fool in front of the class while you were gone!” Jonny sneered. “Said I was fragile because I was havin’ some fun with you.” he stepped closer. “You’re gonna go to her tomorrow and say how much you love me, got it?” he grinned. “We all know you’re Gay, and that’s why that bitch favours you!”
“Ew, it’s true? That little bitch is Gay?” Brit spat at my boots. “Disgusting!”
“You know what, you’re our plaything tonight~!” Jonny grinned, grabbing my shirt collar. “Then we’ll call it even, ok?” he pulled me to the ground; I winced sharply, stopped my something. “Dude, we’re in the middle of somethin’ here. Do you mind?” Jonny hissed.
“I advise you low lives to leave.” a figure stood over me, pulling out a gun. “If I catch you picking on him again, I won't be so kind.” they spoke hoarsely.
“Fuckin’ creep.” Jonny spat on the ground in front of me.
“Let’s go-” Brit dragged him off.
“You’re fucking dead next time I see you, Hys!” Jonny called.
“Shit- are you ok?” the figure kneeled to me, the dim streetlight catching their eyes, a mask over their nose and mouth.
“L-Leon?” I blinked a few times, standing quickly; I held my shoulder, leaning on the wall to look at him. “What are you doing here?”
“I took a walk. Walking Is good for one’s health.” he shrugged. “I saw you and those two and watched. You didn’t defend yourself, so I stepped in.” he reached his hand towards me.
“I’m fine.” I hissed. “Threatening them with a gun, thanks for helping.” I rolled my eyes, pushing past him.
“It’s unloaded, you still have my-” I cut him off.
“Not the point.” I sighed.
“...You’re hurt.” he noted.
“Had worse.” I huffed, grabbing my bag. “If you’re well enough to go out on your own, then leave.” I started down the alley.
“I- don’t have a place to stay-” he walked behind me.
“Fine, whatever, you can only stay for the week.” I huffed. “Then you must leave.”
“Thank you.” he quickly spoke. “I won’t make you regret it! I'll do anything I can to help you!”
“We’ll talk about this-” I winced sharply, catching myself on the wall.
“Hey-” he stood in front of me, holding my shoulders gently. “Take it easy, let me help you.”
