“Hey, good morning.” Chester greeted me as I sat in the kitchen.
“It’s 7 in the morning, Chester,” I hummed, looking at him. “I need to get started with the bookshop, you’re welcome to stay up here and rest some more or leave.” I stood.
“Ok.” he smiled as I walked past him, to the stairs. “Thank you.”
“Mind yourself, there might be customers.” I nodded once, walking down the stairs. “Ah-!” someone was already at the door, I opened it. “Good morning-” I was cut off, they pushed past me.
“Where is he?” they grabbed my shoulder.
“Wh-who?” I blinked a few times. “And get your hands off-!” I was stopped, pushed into the desk I usually worked behind. “Ah-”
“If you’ve hurt him-!” they were cut off.
“Danny!” Chester snapped. “Get your hands off of him! That is no way to treat my friend!”
“Sorry sir.” the figure stepped backwards.
“What are you doing here?” Chester walked up to me. “Are you ok-?” he put his hand on my shoulder.
“What business you have must be done off my property.” I harshly pulled from him.
“Danny, wait your ass outside!” Chester huffed.
“Yes, sir.” they nodded, walking out.
“Kid-” Chester looked to me. “Are you alright? Did he hurt you? I'm sorry-”
“Yes, I'm ok.” I sighed. “You should go with your friend.” I turned away.
“...Right... ok.” he sighed deeply. “Thank you for everything.” he smiled. “I’ll be back later.”
“Don’t bring your friend this time.” I nodded once.
“Hah, you got it.” he hummed, walking to the door. “Oh, and-” he turned back to me. “You’re really cute.”
“Ah?” I froze; he walked out the door. “C-cute?!” I became flushed. “I’m gonna-!”
“Is now a bad time, sir?” someone sheepishly spoke.
“Uh! Sorry- how may I help you?” I cleared my throat. So embarrassing!
“Well, I was hoping to find this exact book.” they dug in their bag. “But not the series version.” this is gonna be a long day...
