They walked up to the door, Adelmo unlocked the door and walked in.
“Make yourself at home, Lana.”
“Alright, do you mind if I check something out really quick while you go pack some stuff up for tomorrow.”
“Sure no problem.”
He noticed that she had brought her laptop over.
“I don’t have Wi-Fi since I spend most of my time at the store. So I am not sure if there is any wireless access around here, but you are welcome to try it.”
“Alright thanks.”
Lana opened up her laptop and checked if she could connect to any of the surrounding houses with Wi-Fi. She clicked through half a dozen connections and finally found one that was not password protected. Oddly enough, the name connected to it was called “Abomination’. Not thinking too much about it.
She pulled out the books, not realizing she had brought them all with her.
She thought to herself, “How could this all be related?”
An idea popped into her head, “I will look up Adelmo’s crest symbol.”
Her gut was right, it was an identical match. Lana knew she needed to let him know about those books she had found.
Not long after she found the information, Adelmo came out with his bag, ready for his trip.
Adelmo sat next to Lana, curious to know what she was up to.
“Adelmo, I found some books around the store that had some crests on them. One is well your family crest. The other was one you already knew.”
Adelmo’s eyes widened, “Are you serious? How did I miss that?”
“Well, have you ever really seen your family crest?”
“Now that you mention it, I don’t ever recall seeing it. I guess that is why I didn’t realize that.”
Adelmo grabbed the book and thought of his parents, and suddenly they both fell into a trance while touching the book.
They see his parents getting ambushed by a dozen vampires, slicing them up. Suddenly they snapped out of it. Their eyes widened as if they saw a ghost dropping the book trying to catch their breath. Adelmo was holding back tears witnessing his parents being brutally murdered.
Lana reached over to see if Adelmo was OK.
Adelmo gained control of his emotions, “Lana what I just saw, was how my parents died.”
“I know I saw it too. Are you OK? I know you don’t speak much about them.”
“Yeah I am ok.”
He then told her the story that was told to him, “My grandfather told me they went on a mission to Alaska during their darkest time of the year. There was word that people were going missing but didn’t know where they were going. All he was told was they looked like they had been murdered by some kind of animal. My grandfather knew the truth. He just didn’t know what attacked them. This vision confirmed that.”
Adelmo looked down in horror. Lana now knows the truth behind Adelmo and what he has gone through.
He grabs the other books that Lana found in the store and falls into another trance, seeing Adelmo’s grandfather die in the middle of a battle with multiple zombies attacking. There were just too many for him to be able to handle.
You saw him hacking away as each zombie approached. One of them managed to get past the blade swung at it. Biting down on Emil’s arm. You saw the error in his eyes. Exposing an opening for the next one to latch on to his neck. Then another one on to his other arm. He falls to the ground and losing his balance. They come piling in on him. Ending his life in tragedy. Suddenly, they snap out of another trance, dropping the books as well.
Adelmo thought to himself in horror, “OH NO, What can we do now that I know what that girl was talking about.”
Lana scoots closer to Adelmo, putting her arm around him to comfort him, making sure he is OK.
Adelmo told her, “I saw my Grandfather killed.”
Lana reminded him, “I know, I saw it too. I am so sorry!”
They then discuss everything that he has found out today.
The day drifts to night. It started getting late. They put everything down and needed a break. So they relaxed on the couch together. They both gradually doze off at the same time. Continuing the dream from the night before.
While knocking, no one seems to answer like the last house they were just at. They open up the door and walk into the house, still having a feeling of emptiness. They went into each room looking for any signs of life. Lana saw a picture of the guy that Adelmo found. It turned out that he was actually his uncle with a woman and a daughter.
Lana hollered, “Adelmo, come here, you have to see this.”
Adelmo rushed over and saw the picture, his mouth dropped. “This must be the girl that has been calling me, warning me about events that are about to happen.”
They look at each other with a sign of hope that something positive is going to happen soon.
They both suddenly wake up realizing Lana was cuddled up close to Adelmo. In a daze, not knowing if they had figured out what was going on. They take a moment lying there enjoying the feel of each other’s touch.
