They get back to the shop, unlock the door and walk in. Lana went around the shop and continued where she left off before they went for lunch.
Adelmo went to check the answering machine. There were a few orders for books, one from Nik about that girl, “Adelmo, I tried to dig up a little more info for you about that girl. From what I gathered, her parents died when she was young, was in and out of jail do to a drug problem. That is all I could find out; let me know on your end if you find anything else out, OK?”
Adelmo thought to himself, “hmm… interesting.”
There was one more message from that girl again, “Adelmo, I know we will meet soon. We need to protect our grandfather as much as we can,” she hung up.
Adelmo felt confused, “How did she get this information? Why does she keep saying OUR grandfather? Are we related somehow? Why does she feel our grandfather is in danger?”
Adelmo went out to talk to Lana to relay the messages from the machine. He found her in the back part of the store, looking at a book that had some kind of symbol on it. She noticed that a lot more books around this store had his grandfather’s crest on them than she ever realized. Also, she ran across a crest she had never seen before.
She started to gather the books. There were two that had this unfamiliar crest on it, and she noticed four others that had Adelmo's grandfather's on them.
Adelmo interrupted Lana from what she was doing, “There were a couple of interesting messages, one from that girl again and one from Nik. The rest were just orders you will need to document.”
“Alright, thanks for letting me know, what were the messages about from Nik and the girl?”
“Well, the first one was from Nik, he told me a little about her background. Sounds like she had a pretty rough life. The girls’ message was about my grandfather again, which confuses me. I am wondering if she has visions like I do.”
“That is very interesting, did she leave away to get a hold of her this time?”
“No, nothing, I will need to contact my grandfather to let him know of the new information I came across.”
Adelmo went into the back room to try to gain some privacy and grabbed the phone, then dialed the phone number to his grandfather's house. He had hoped this would be the last time, knowing he had forgotten to mention the recent things she had said about him.
The housekeeper picked up, “Alexandru’s reședință.”
“Hello, is my grandfather home?”
Changing her language to English, “No he is not, he took a trip over to Germany.”
Adelmo’s eyes widened, “He said that he wasn’t leaving till later in the week. Do you know how I can get a hold of him?”
“No, I am sorry, wish I could help.”
“Well, if you talk to him, I have some more information about a girl I spoke to him about that kept calling. She might actually be related to us.”
“Alright, I will relay the message when I talk to him next.”
“One more thing, she keeps saying our grandfather is in danger, so please tell him to be careful.”
“I will, but you know what he does is always dangerous. How is this any different from the rest?”
“I don’t know, but this girl seems pretty sincere about what she is saying.”
“Alright, if I talk to him, I will relay everything you told me to him.”
Then they said there goodbyes and hung up the phone.
Adelmo came out of the back room, “My grandfather has left for Germany already. I have no way to get a hold of him.” Feeling concerned for his grandfathers life.
“What if this girl is right?” he muttered to himself.
“Lana, I am going to have to head to Germany for a trip soon. Will you be OK running things by yourself again?”
“I figured as much and yes; I will be fine. Any ideas how soon?”
“Well, tomorrow if I can get a ticket.”
Lana felt a little bummed, “Alright, do you want me to call the airline to get the ticket?”
“Yes please, make it one-way. I'm not sure how long I'll need to be there, and thank you.”
Lana thought that he would want to pack up his stuff. So coming over probably wouldn’t be a good idea anymore.
Adelmo noticed there was a sadness on Lana’s face.
“Lana, don’t feel down while I am gone. I will miss you, but I will be back as soon as I can. Do you still plan on coming over?”
Lana’s eyes brightened up, “I will try to keep myself busy. As for coming over, I thought you would want to get packed.”
“Well, I do, but that doesn’t mean you can’t come over.”
Lana had a feeling of joy to be able to spend a little more time with Adelmo before he left.
Adelmo went to make a brief phone call, “Nik, I need to go to Germany to go see my Grandfather. There is something going on I need to be there for.”
“Alright, let me know if I can assist you in anyway.”
“Thanks Nik. I will keep in touch.”
They hung up the phone. He didn’t realize it was already closing time. He thought to himself, “Where did the time go?”
Adelmo went out to the front, seeing Lana closing up the shop.
“Hey Lana, did you get the time of the flight?”
“Yeah, your flight is at 10 o’clock.”
“Alright thanks.”
They finish closing up the shop and both head over to Adelmo’s place to discuss anything that is new going on. They both pull up to the house and get out. Lana grabs her laptop hoping she can figure out the second crest on the book.
