Three hours earlier

“Rogers is not someone that comes that easily. I wonder what has brought him out of his comfort zone to come see me here. All these years when I asked him to visit his old friend, he never even considered it that little bastard” Mr. Alves thinks to himself with a grin on his face

“ha ha ha” a laugh escapes his lips

“Well, let’s see what brings him home today” he continues laughing as he leans on his office chair.

“Knock knock” he turns to the direction of the knock

“C’mon in” he fully turns and faces the door.

“Ah Rogers, how wonderful to see you again, how long has it been? 15 years?” he stands and gets away from the table and walks to Rogers. He stretches his hand out and pulls him in for a hug.

“Yes Mr. Alves, 15 years. Ever since you sent me to handle Ms Rosey’s assets that her parents transferred to her” they hold into a tight hug with smiles on their faces and finally let go with their a handshake intact.

“Ahh that is correct how is work? Being a lawyer is no easy thing.”

“Am used to it by now, all thanks to you”

“Mention not, we are family”

“Have a seat.” They let go as Mr. Alvis signals Rogers to the couch

“So what brings you home, thought you abandoned us.”

“hahahahha no Ramos, you never back down on family.”

“hohohoho, you’ve finally switched to home mood. Great to have you home Rogers.” They finally settle down and Rogers bends forward and uses his hands as support for his chin.

“Do you remember Melisa, Melisa santos?”

“How can I forget that scheming witch, what about her?” replies an agitated Mr. Alves with a face of disgust and anger.

“Well, that scheming Witch has been scheming a lot and her schemes cost Rosey her life” shock appears on the face of Mr. Alves as he turns completely and bends towards Rogers.”

“What do you mean cost Rosey her Life?”

“Its just as you’ve heard it Ramos.” Confusion is on the face of Mr. Alves, he thinks to himself this cannot be happening right now Daniella has just settled in, how do I tell her that her mother is dead, and how the hell does that witch cause it.

“Let me get this straight, you want to tell me that our Rosey is dead.”

“That is correct Ramos.” Silence breaks the room, as Mr. Alves leans back to the chair in thought. Moments pass and Rogers is silent because this means a lot to this family.

“Tell me the whole story.” Demands Mr. Alves as he stands up and pours whiskey, and comes back to his seat and hands one glass to Rogers.

 “Last month Rosey came to see me, she wanted me to arranger her affairs because she was planning on coming back before Daniella went to college.” Rogers sips on his whiskey and leans back as well.

“She had received information that Melisa was the reason David died. Melisa has no idea that Rosey had a relationship with David and that the child she has is a member of this family.”

“But how did she end up killing her.”

“Mr. Jameson Rosey’s husband, has a son, he doesn’t like dealing with family businesses, in fact he has stayed out of all those businesses for his entire life…”

“On one of the wedding anniversary of his parents, he came home to see his new step mother and he was so fond of her. They shared the true mother and son relationship since his mother died when he was young. His father never married again until Rosey…”

“During that anniversary, all the rich people and strong families were around, but Santos Junior was among those people.” That statement made Mr. Alves pause from the drink he was about to sip and laid it down.

“You mean, 'the' Santos Junior that we all know.” Rogers did nod in confirmation of that statement.

“He came with a businessman, Poland Calmat. Poland lost his Wife in a car accident and he never remarried. But he has one woman around him who has been his secretary even before his wife died.”

“Melisa Santos”

“Exactly, and she controls most of his affairs including security” says Rogers with a smirk on his face.

“And that is when Santos Junior comes in. Hahahahah, they really played this man”

“It so happens that Poland has two daughter, the eldest is a doctor and they wanted her to marry Jameson’s son Emmet Jameson but he turned them down and they believe that Rosey is the reason he refused. Anyone that marries into the Jameson family becomes the mostly high ranking person…...”

“Melisa tried to marry into that family then but Jameson Philips chose Rosey.”

“Wow, this is funny. So Rosey beat her to all the men she wanted and she ended up with Poland.” This was so amusing for Mr. Alves, that a loud laughter escaped his lips.

“Go on Go on.”

“There was a rumour that Mr. Poland wanted his daughter to marry into a family that runs Chicago, “Craxilver”, but we all know who that is. He broke off the engagement for reasons unknown.”

“When things refused they turned to the Jameson family which also turned them down. Mr. Jameson’s mother also never supported the idea of his grandson marrying into that family because she knows what type of family it is. They always play dirty.”

“After turning those people down they decided to kill Philip Jameson, which they succeeded in and when Rosey got to know of the truth about David and Poland, she came to me and left me with all the evidence and five days ago she died in a car accident. Same way Poland’s wife and Philip Jameson died.”

“I remember Junior talking about a girl he had broken up with 3 or 4years ago, so that is the girl” confirms Mr alves.

“Poland’s mother had the same suspicions as Rosey, but when Rosey died, she confirmed that. So she decided to split all her riches into two.”

“The first Portion goes to Emmet and the other goes to Daniella. Since they are the only grandchildren she has.”

“Wait, hold on. How does she know of Daniella?”

“The whole family knew that she existed before they even got married.”

“Emmet inclusive?”

“Yes”

“MMMMMM Okay, let’s hear more.”

“She has a few months to live so she decided to do that and with that no one can take any of those riches by using his grandson through marriage.”

“It all means that it takes the name Robinson from the top as the richest family, but it leaves both Emmet and Daniella into the fifth Richest since they have the same portion of inheritance.”

“Rosey left all the evidence and her own riches in the hands of Daniella which makes her the third richest in Chicago. However, Philips left his riches to Emmet which also means that Emmet would still be the richest in Chicago with all those put together”

“What do you mean would?” asks Mr Alves as he stands from his seat and leans on the office table.

“Well Ramos, that is because, Philip left a will mentioning that if Emmet does not want the inheritance he would sign it off to Daniella and Daniella had to acknowledge by signing on those papers.”

“So, you are telling me Emmet signed off his riches to Daniella.”

“Yes Ramos, because with this, no big family would want to marry someone who is not at the top. And the fact that they all have girls, they would not do anything to Daniella her being a girl.” This was hard to believe but it was all true. The two talked more until Mr. Alves called for the rest of the family Daniella exclusive, and told them how everything was.

The whole family remained silent until Timothy broke it

“Then how about the death of David” they all turned to look at Rogers for the answer.

“Only Daniella has access to that evidence.”

“Okay, now this is even more confusing, how?”

“Rosey made a safe that only Daniella can access. All I have is the key and the letter that I have to give to her from her mother and a letter to the entire family that you are all about to know of.”

“Then let’s call her and tell her what she needs to know” they all agree to it and finally the phone call is made.
