I believe in the first version, Stev was the one stalling for time meanwhile Kiki was helping Fern. That was a bit of an oopsie I made back then. To clarify the kids ages, Kiki is 13, Fern is 12 about to turn 13, and Stev is like 11 about to be 12 soon. The ceremony is meant for kids that are 13 or about to turn 13 within a certain period.
