Blessed Flames
Tinder alighted with sin and sorrow.
Destined by the gods to be gone by tomorrow.
No words could tell of the lighting which swelled.
Ears ring from panicked church bells.
The people who have always lived in fear.
Are now crying and whimpering for any God to hear.
“Bring back our structure where we worship you.
Bring it back or we shall defy you!”
“Why do you think it burns?”
They retort.
“You do not practise what you preach, you do not follow the one who you claim to believe. Maybe your elders have led you astray. What a shame you could not see that until this very day.”
The world grows dark.
The seven days expired.
No breath will be left to say what transpired.
