Cory dreaded the day that Friday would come and here it is. He has barely been able to sleep or eat, worrying about Judas. He is pretty much beside himself, wracked with worry and guilt although more than likely it wasn’t his fault that this had happened. He wants to be pissed at Judas for getting himself into this mess but the only thing that Cory could really think about is how he hopes that Judas is alright. He can be mad later when Judas is back home.
Unfortunately, Frankie couldn’t do anything about it either. Taylor had called him after taking Cory back home and explained the situation. Frankie tried to trace the cellphone to see if it would lead back to Judas but for whatever reason, it was untraceable. Cory knew it had everything to do with the man on the phone but he isn’t sure who the person was. Frankie didn’t know either and neither did Taylor.
The identity of the owner of The Underground is somewhat of a secret. There are the underdogs that are more known but there is no way that they are in charge. It wouldn’t make sense at all and it makes Cory feel like he is going to go insane because he has no idea how he is going to make sure to save Judas’ life. Cory keeps thinking that maybe if he can figure out who took Judas then he would be able to protect Judas. It’s a little easier said than done.
Frankie has every intention to make sure that Cory will be able to get a lot done. Cory isn’t sure about this but he is sitting across from Frankie and Taylor in the now closed café. Frankie has a bit of devices on the table in front of him, explaining to Cory the possibilities of what he could end up using. Cory isn’t sure what to do about it, feeling a bit weird because if he gets caught, he could very well end up dead. Frankie is explaining a lot more to him that he dreaded to learn.
“I’m afraid that The Underground is run by the Mafia.” Frankie explains, a solemn expression on his face, “unfortunately it seems like there could be human trafficking in this place, but we haven’t been able to get proof of it yet. That’s why since you have a way in, we need you to do this so we can catch these bastards.”
Cory really doesn’t look too sure, staring at Frankie like he is crazy, “you’re telling me this but isn’t it dangerous? Wouldn’t this mean that it is possible if they catch me then I would suffer the same fate? Or they might end up killing me? I don’t want to die.”
“I think that you need to think about more than just yourself.” Frankie disagrees, ignoring how Taylor gives him a pointed look, “I understand your fear but I can promise you that if you follow what I tell you, no one will be able to figure it out. I can assure this of you.”
Cory doesn’t believe Frankie because this doesn’t seem like a good idea. It doesn’t make sense for him to do this because he doesn’t know how to act and it might be a bad idea if he ends up getting something to happen to him. If he gets caught and dies, who knows what would happen to Judas. He doesn’t even want to imagine it, slightly afraid of what would happen afterwards. Cory grits his teeth together, worrying over what’ll come next. He knows that he needs to get evidence, but he doesn’t know how to go about it.
“Okay, I will do it.” Cory murmurs, hoping that this doesn’t come back to bite him in the butt, “what advice can you give me? I don’t want them to be suspicious that I’m wearing a wire or something.”
Frankie shakes his head and opens up his pack, taking out what looks to be a decent size needle, “I’m sorry but you won’t be wearing a wire. They would look for that almost immediately. This is a newer invention that has been used for the past few months and it has been working really well. It’s mostly painless and you won’t notice it’s there at all unless you know where to look for it.”
Cory is staring at the needle now and all he wants to do is run. Taylor senses Cory’s fear and he ends up reaching out and gently placing his hand on Cory’s, trying to reassure him. Cory feels weird about it, knowing that he doesn’t want to do this at all but there’s no way that he can back down now. If he does that, then he could very well lose Judas in the process. He has to remain strong, that much is a given.
“Okay, do it.” Cory whispers in a hoarse voice.
Frankie numbs the area the best that he can, knowing there is only so much that he is going to be able to do. It’s a very weird experience, making him wonder if this will really work. The device is placed right into the cheek, unable to notice unless you knew where to look. It is able to record all speech coming from the person it is inside and those who are close to him. Cory winces in pain as he feels the needle entering his face.
“I’m sorry, it has to be deep enough that no one will notice.” Frankie explains, giving Cory a sympathetic smile for once, “I give you big props because not everyone would be able to do something like this. You’re really strong.”
Cory isn’t so sure about that but he is trying to remain strong. He feels really weird, just clinging to Taylor’s hand as he tries to process what is going on. He feels like he is some kind of undercover boss, making him feel really weird about this. He knows how dangerous it is but as Frankie explains that there is no way one of the enemy would be able to find the device, it makes him feel a little bit better.
“I will help protect you the best that I can.” Frankie assures Cory, knowing that Cory is innocent in all of this, “I know this is scary but I have faith that you will be able to do the right thing. Okay?”
Cory isn’t sure what to say so he just ends up nodding his head, “I will do my best… I have to go now though.”
“Do you need us to come with?” Taylor asks, knowing that it is possible that this could turn around and bite him in the butt because he doesn’t want to lose a valuable worker and friend like Cory, “what do you need from us?”
Cory wants the help but he ends up shaking his head, knowing it wouldn’t be a good idea for them to be anywhere near him, “as much as I would love for the support, I think that it would be more suspicious to them. I will handle this on my own and I will see what they want from me. I’m sure it shouldn’t be too terrible.”
Taylor and Frankie were not too sure about that, looking at Cory with worry but they didn’t want to freak Cory out more than he already is. Cory has no choice but to leave the café, hoping for the best as he hails a taxi and ends up being taken straight there. He figured it would be best to get their early, wondering what might come from it. But as he gets there, he is slightly confused to see a beautiful woman waiting for him in the front of the building.
She is tall for a woman, seemingly taller than him with fair skin and a curvy body. She wears a skin-tight red dress and her long, curly black hair falls down to her waist. Her eyes are a beautiful blue color and she has delicate but sharp features that makes Cory almost take a double take. If Cory wasn’t gay, she would definitely be his type.
“Hello, Cory!” She gushes almost, rushing over and taking Cory’s hands in herself, “oh, wow, you are so beautiful. I wasn’t sure what to expect when they told me that I would have a newbie but I’m not disappointed. My name is Sasha but while we are working, you can call me Red. We need to figure out a name for you.”
Sasha is looking Cory up and down, a calculating look in her eyes as she is trying to decide what to do about his name. She isn’t so sure what would be the best name for him, knowing it is very possible that the wrong name could be picked. Cory isn’t sure either, wondering why he can’t just use his name. But before he could say anything, her smile gets even bigger.
“I know what I’m going to call you.” She murmurs, a twinkle in her eyes that makes Cory uncomfortable, “while working, your name will be Sin.”
“Sin?” Cory echoes, looking a bit mortified, “why?”
“It’s the perfect name for you and it is definitely sexual.” Sasha explains to him shrugging her shoulders slightly, “it could be worse and I know it will get you a lot of attention and you will be able to make a great amount of money. Don’t you think?”
“I’m not doing this for money.” Cory grumbles, wondering what he has done to deserve this type of bullshit, “I don’t really like that name. I’m not a whore.”
Sasha’s eyes narrow slightly as if she is getting angry with Cory, “why are you thinking like that, Cory? This is the best way to protect yourself but also keep your customer’s happy. You can’t pick a boring name or I promise you, you will end up regretting it. Just trust me and do as I say.”
Cory really doesn’t want to but he sighs and nods his head, “I’ll trust you then.”
Cory didn’t want to trust her, wondering what might end up happening if he allows it to become that way. A dangerous game could be played right now and it is pretty obvious what would end up happening if he does the wrong thing. He has been through so much already and it feels like nothing is going right for him. If he is to be called Sin then so be it, but he isn’t going to be so kind if he realizes that this has been done for a stupid reason.
Cory is doing this for Judas, that’s all.
“Let’s get inside and I will take you to where we get ready.” Sasha murmurs, a light pep in her step as she leads Cory inside, “don’t worry if you get stared at, we don’t get too many new guys because they normally can’t handle this. I hope you do manage to fit, Cory, because I think you’re going to do just fine here.”
Cory isn’t so sure about that considering the fact that he isn’t doing this because he wants to. He just wants to run away and hide but there’s no way it would be able to happen. She is correct when she said that people would stare at me, definitely making me feel weird as I try to process what would end up coming from it. I don’t know what would end up happening but it is pretty obvious that I’m going to figure it out.
Going deeper into the warehouse, she comes to a door and ends up opening it for me. Inside I see a bunch of men and women bustling around, getting ready. They turn to look at me curiously like Sasha said they would and I just offer a small smile. Guiding me inside, Sasha takes me to a cubby.
“I guess the owner already picked out the outfit he wanted you to wear.” Sasha murmurs, but there’s an odd look in her eyes, “wow, I’m sorry, Sin. I don’t know who you pissed off for them to make you wear that.”
I wasn’t sure precisely what she meant by that until I saw what they wanted me to wear, my mouth going completely dry and I’m sure that I looked like a tomato. If dying of embarrassment is a thing, I’m sure it would have happened right now.
I swear whoever this man is, I’m going to murder him!
