"Welcome, boys. Come in!" It is Charles who opens the door.
After entering his house, Katerine immediately comes towards me, leaving her room.
"You came!" She exclaims.
"Of course..." I reply.
"Nice to meet you, my name is Katerine. You must be William, right? My father told me that you also know how to use magic, just like your brother!" Katerine approaches William and speaks almost as if she were speaking at a different speed.
"Nice to meet you, I guess..." He replies awkwardly.
Going to the backyard, she watches me with her hands on her hips, with a very bold smile.
"Okay, Okay. How do I use magic?" She asks.
"Sit on the floor." She immediately follows my command. "Close your eyes and concentrate." I say, and she follows. "Focus on the "wires" that exists in your body." I complement.
A few seconds passed, and William and I just watched.
" Hmmmm..." She frowns. "I can't! I can't find any wires!" She exclaims.
This is going to be a lot harder than I thought...
"William, can you explain it to her?" Maybe if a child close to her age explains it, she will understand.
"Well, just imagine that you have a wire all over your body and concentrate on keeping it activated." He says
This was better than I thought...
Again, Katerine concentrates with crossed legs sitting on the grass.
After a few seconds pass, she opens her eyes.
"I think I got it!" She says excitedly. "I feel like I have several ribbons on my body, is that mana?" She asks.
"Probably. It amazes me that you figured that out so easily." I say.
She should be able to feel the mana without much difficulty due to her physical development.
Normally, children fully release their mana at the age of 5 or 6. Katerine is 3 years old, like me, so she should be able to feel the mana more easily than I when I started to release mana.
If we're lucky, in three months, she should be able to release the mana.
After that, we spent the afternoon training in Charles' backyard.
While Katerine focused on releasing her mana, William and I did other training.
I practiced controlling the roots and making them grow around me. They are still small and look more like bean sprouts, but I believe that over time I will be able to improve them until they become strong roots to hold back enemies.
My brother trains by doing push-ups and sit-ups in different ways. He applies magic to his body to become more resilient and withstand more sets.
I just pray he doesn't skip leg day...
As we trained, the sky became cloudy and gray; apparently, rain is coming.
Taking a break to rest and drink water, I see the rustic wooden clock hanging on the wall.
[17:30]
It's getting late. I think it's time to go.
"Hey, William, I think it's time for us to go home." I say.
Katerine opens her eyes the moment I say this.
"I think so too, we've already trained too much today..." He says tiredly.
"I can't stand sitting here anymore either..." Katerine says.
Apparently, we are all tired.
"By the way, Katerine, where is your mother?" I ask since I rarely see her.
"She works in the kingdom as a hairdresser, so she comes home late."
Now it's explained...
"I think we better hurry before we get rained on." I say looking at William.
After saying goodbye to Katerine and Charles, William and I returned home.
Halfway there, raindrops begin to fall on our heads.
The rain is weak, but we need to go faster before it gets worse.
When we get home, the rain starts to get a little more aggressive. For the rest of the day, rain fell incessantly on the ground.
For a month, William and I continued to accompany Katerine in her training.
Until, her mana was finally released.
There was no huge burst of energy, no strong wind, just a light breeze.
I think this must be because the mana was already developed, so there wasn't much more to be released.
Her parents were very happy, especially Charles, who was very excited from the beginning.
I had the chance to meet her mother, Maria.
She has similar characteristics to her daughter. Dark skin, straight hair and cat ears.
After that, we went to Professor Bovary to check out the magic she possesses.
It was me, William, and Kate's entire family.
In fact, at that time I started just calling her Kate; It's more practical to talk about.
After all the reunion with the teacher, she finally discovered what the girl's magic was.
Magic of the Water goddess!
It's a basic spell and serves very well as support, especially for healing, but I think Katerine didn't have that predisposition to be support.
Initially, she was frustrated. Katerine wanted Fire Magic, or some magic from a powerful god. Even so, her family and I tried to tell her that it's not such bad magic.
Since then, Kate has been training with William and me in the forest. Autumn arrived, and temperatures started to get a little cooler. The leaves fall in piles on the ground, but some trees still survive.
I noticed that she has a hand-to-hand combat style, so I've been giving her some tips, like focusing on Embedded Magic and trying to control the density of the water.
Of course, she wouldn't be able to understand it immediately, she doesn't even know what density means, but over time she will find ways to improve her magic.
