Part 2
The five apprentices waited outside the entrance while Rosepaw peeked in. She returned a moment later, nodding, as a sign for them to go in. They sprinted as silent as possible towards the apprentice den. It wasnt as easy as they’d thought, but they managed to get there with only a suspicious look from Greenclaw to worry about, all the other apprentices were sleeping. Lightningpaw, Moonpaw and Specklepaw settled down to sleep, while Bloosompaw and Conepaw shared tongues. When lightningpaw woke, she saw Goldenfur, walking unnoticed into the den. “Lightningpaw, me and Novastar need to speak to you. Come with me to Novastar’s den.” She said it with a unreadable expression on her face. “um... Yes, ill come... B-but what is it about?” Lightningpaw still couldnt see what mood Goldenfur was in, but she could see that it definetly wasnt a happy one. “Just come” Lightningpaw felt ashamed, because Goldenfur seemed to be mad at her. But deep down, she knew why she should go to Novastar’s den.
“Wait for the others” Novastar said when they had sat down in the den. “Who?” Lightningpaw said, trying to sound generally curious. “You know that, dont you!?” Goldenfur snapped. Lightningpaw looked down, digging her claws into the surface of the den. They waited in awkward silence, until the four other apprentices padded into the den, heads down and tails drooping. They obviously also knew what was about to happen. “So, let me get this straight. You went out into the twoleg filled forest, in the middle of the night, even though you had been commanded to stay in camp?!” Novastar sounded mad, but as Lightningpaw caught her stare, she saw a bit of sympathy in her amber gaze. “Y-yes, but we can explain!” Blossompaw sounded generally hopeful. “Explain, then!” Flowershine snapped. “erm... i wanted to be a warrior so badly, and i thought that if i showed that i was brave, i would maybe gain some respect and maybe become a warrior sooner. But i know by now, that it was a very stupid idea...” Lightningpaw expected her to continue on, but Goldenfur interrupted her. “Yes, and you were right. It genuienly was a very dumb idea.” Lightningpaw knew that they couldn’t get through this without a punishment. And afterall, it wasn’t all Blossompaw’s fault. “Have you decided a punishment for them yet, Novastar?” Flowershine asked unpatiently. “Yes. They wont be going to the next 3 gatherings. All of them.” Lightningpaw released out the breath she hadn’t realised she’d been holding. She'd expected a way worse punishment. She realised, on the mentors slight mad, but also respectful stares, that they had also expected something worse. Goldenfur opened her mout to speak, but closed it again, when Novastar gave her a deep growl. She gave a flick of her tail in dismission. The five apprentices trooted sadly into the apprentice den, they didnt have anything else to do. in fact, it was sunset already.
