During the rest of that year, nothing different happened.
William turned 3 years old, and I continued helping the villagers with their crops.
I can't say that I've built a strong relationship with them, but I can say that I feel more comfortable with their presence.
Before, they were just strangers; today, they are acquaintances of mine who I help.
Normally, they reward me with their harvests, and this has been very good since our family does not have to depend on money.
Every week, old Titi, a resident of the village, arrives with his carriage with some products for sale.
He sells spices, meats, vegetables, etc.
Occasionally, my parents have to buy something from him to supplement their meals.
The main way we make money here is by selling our stuff to him.
Be it a vegetable or even an old clock.
He says if he is interested and buys the product.
Passing the year at daycare was no challenge.
The tests were simple, and I didn't have any difficulties in my first year.
With the turn of the year, I turned 3 years old, and William turned 4 years old as time went by.
A month after his birthday, William seemed to be bothered by something related to magic.
I didn't know what it was, so I asked him why he was uncomfortable.
"I don't think magic wands are for me." he told me with a look of displeasure.
In fact, William seems to have his movements very restricted due to the wand.
"Why don't you use a sword?" I said. "I've read that swordsmen can also use magic to their advantage." I added.
Later that day, William and Hera went to Legório to buy a dagger because a sword would be too heavy for him to hold.
The dagger he purchased had engravings of dragons on its hilt.
The handle is thick and square. Its pommel is also square, and the guard is made in a quadrilateral shape.
The blade is large and wide, but has the same color as any other. The rest of the dagger is made of wood, with some iron pins supporting the weapon. It doesn't appear to be made of sturdy wood.
Since that day, my brother has started training with this little weapon.
It wasn't long before he began to develop Embedded Magic to strengthen his body.
For the rest of the year, we continued training constantly.
William managed to develop air magic that helped him fight with the dagger.
He basically used Air Magic on his body to become faster.
The Stone Thorns technique that I developed is now much more optimized. I feel like I can do this with a certain ease, almost as if it were something automatic.
"Hey, Light, I have a request to make of you." My train of thought is interrupted by Charles as I'm making his flowers bloom in his backyard.
"And what was it?" I've never seen Charles asking me for anything, it must be important...
"It's a request from the father, you know?" He says scratching his feline ears. "You know my daughter, Katerine, right? She saw you and your brother training in the backyard these days, and she wants you to teach her how to use magic..." He says embarrassed.
It was just what I was missing...
Katerine; she is the daughter of Charles and Maria. She's the same age as me, and has cat ears, just like her father and her mother.
I never got to have a friendship with her, but from what I see at daycare, she is completely euphoric!
"I'll think about what I can do, haha..." I say with a forced smile...
The next day, I woke up normally and went to school. Everything was going well until Katerine arrived...
A small girl with brown skin. His hair is short and black and even looks like a boy's; the strands are straight and messy. On his head, there are two cat ears that appear to be very furry.
She wears a white shirt with short sleeves and a knee-length skirt with a flower print.
Katerine sits next to me. Clearly, she is going to ask me to teach magic, you don't need to be a genius to know that.
After a few minutes of class having started, she turns to me.
"Hey, hey, hey, hey..." She keeps repeating it in her thin voice.
"What is it?" I say without much excitement.
"Teach me magic, please???" She puts her hands together in prayer and begs me.
Very straight to the point; she didn't even introduce herself; I wouldn't have that courage...
It's not like I don't want to teach it, but training my magic takes up most of my time, and it's also very important.
I take a long sigh before answering her question.
"My schedule is already full; maybe in a few years I'll be able to do it."
She looks shocked.
"A few years?! I want it now, now, now..." My God, how can a child be so annoying?
In my old life, I didn't like children. I always found them insufferable and stupid, however, when I started living with William, I realized that this was more of a personality trait than something natural.
William is well-behaved and very calm. He rarely gives our mother work. But this girl here...
"Please, please, please, please..." I need to concentrate before I test my magic on her...
"Katerine!" Professor Bovary scolds her.
"Sorry!" She responds.
It looks like she calmed down.
The class continues, and everyone pays attention to the class again.
In less than 5 minutes, she turns around and faces me again. I try to pretend I don't see it, but it's impossible not to notice.
"My name is Katerine, by the way." She says in a whisper, with her hand hiding her mouth.
"I know..."
"You know!? Who told you!?" She gets excited and ends up speaking louder.
The teacher just looks at her face. Katerine immediately realizes that she made a mistake, but the teacher turns around and continues her lesson.
"Your father told me. My name is Light." I respond in a low tone.
"I know." She answers me with a low voice, exuding confidence, as if she has already investigated me before. "Let's continue our conversation during our break..." She tells me and turns forward to listen to the class.
When Mrs. Bovary lets us go for a break, I immediately go outside the school to get some air.
Katerine follows me, thinking that I hadn't felt her presence, but I did...
Going outside, the girl tries to scare me by scaring me behind my back, but I already expected that.
"Wow, you didn't even move..." She says impressed. "Was that magic??"
"Of course not. It was just my perception..."
"So, will you teach me magic?" She asks.
"First of all, do you have discipline?" I ask.
"I don't even know that word." She says with a bright smile on her face.
...
I put my hand on my forehead and didn't react for a moment.
"It's okay, I can train you..." I say.
"Yaaaay!"
"HOWEVER, I won't be able to accompany you. I'll just teach you the minimum you need to know." This brat won me over with her insistence!
"But will you help me every day?" She asks.
"It depends."
"Depends on what?"
"Only if you behave, then I can train you every day." I respond with authority.
"Understood, master!" She says firmly.
"You can call me Light..."
After our class ended, I promised that I would help Katerine train after lunch.
Soon after that, I went home and ate.
I explained the situation to Hera and William. My mother found it funny because I already have to be a child's teacher, being a child.
William asked me to take him along, and I accepted. It could be dangerous for him to train in the forest alone.
Arriving at Charles' house, I knock on his door and wait for him to open it for me and my brother to enter.
Until the handle turns and the door opens.
