With scant food and water, Polo found himself in a forest. He spotted some berries and drank from a river, then succumbed to a deep sleep in the midst of the woods. It was there that a terrifying figure appeared before him. This figure was Death, but altered, more formidable than ever. Polo, whatever you prefer," the figure began, "your brother has been deceived by Karnox."Anger surged through Polo. "Shut up! Where have you been, you fool? I lost the power you gave me, and everything else. And now you show up out of nowhere with this news?" Death replied sternly, "Quiet, human. I have more important matters to attend to. Watch how you speak to me."Blinded by rage, Polo charged at Death, attempting to strike him, but ended up phasing right through him and crashing into a wall. Death, unimpressed, scolded Polo. He mentioned a gift he intended to give Polo but reconsidered because of Polo's attitude. "Come, stand in front of me, human," Death commanded."Do you know what I'm about to do to you?" Death asked. Polo, cynical, replied, "What, kill me?" "No, you imbecile. After all I've given you before, and our deals, why would I kill you? I will give you something, but after this, I fear I won't see you for a very, very long time, maybe not until your death, given your current mental state." Suddenly, Polo collapsed and saw a blue screen before him. It read, "Your life has ended. Welcome to the second phase, where the true awakening happens. You are now level 1. To continue, click 'continue'; to exit, click 'exit.' However, clicking 'exit' will change nothing." Polo clicked 'continue' and found himself back where he was, with a new indicator above his head, visible only to him: Level 1. The screen instructed him to increase his power by killing five beings, be they humans, creatures, or animals. Polo found some ants and killed them, which immediately upgraded his level, enhancing his strength, speed, intelligence, and muscle mass.
