The following day had finally arrived, marking just four days until the much-anticipated wedding
and Lucenio's second chance to exam. Lucenio woke up with a burst of energy, thanks to the
restorative sleep he had experienced,a rare occurrence in his life. But the love of sleep stopped
him from leaving his bed and reemerging again in deep sleep. His brother,Eden, was tasked with
the responsibility of waking him up.
"Wake up, brother! Father instructed me to wake you up" however, after a series of failed attempts, He crafted a small flame, intending to rouse Lucenio without causing any harm. The gentle flicker of the flame danced near Lucenio's arm till it stung him what leaded to Lucenio jumping out of his bed screaming of surprise.
"I had to do it, but you can't say I didn't warn you," Eden declared with a mischievous grin.Lucenio, reciprocated with a smile "I'll get my revenge." leaped at Eden, and the two siblings tumbled off the bed in laughter, engaging in a playful wrestling match momentarily forgetting any looming worries. Their mirth was interrupted by Reya's surprise attack, leaving all three in fits of laughter, as if a weight had been lifted. Their carefree joy continued until Aria entered the room, declaring, "A small civil war is happening in my house. By my honor, I won't allow it. Wind attacks!" With a flick of her hand, she effortlessly lifted the three youngsters, carrying them on and off, showcasing her strong powers .For a brief moment, the family enjoyed a carefree game, relishing the joy of being together.
"Come on now, guys, time for breakfast. Oh, yes, Lucenio, based on your father’s orders, you
cannot eat breakfast. You need to go bring your friend in about three hours, and l wait for him in the house cabin,"
If I am skipping breakfast, I'll go check what I'll choose," Lucenio responded. Eden and Rya exited the room, leaving Lucenio who was halted by his mother's words, delivered in a worried tone.
"Honey, can I talk to you for a second?" Aria's unexpected request caught Lucenio off guard. He thought she would discuss the events of the previous night, so he reassured her, "Yes, Mom, if you want to talk about last night, don't worry. I'm better now, as you can see. I slept for the first time in ages."
Surprisingly, Aria shifted the topic, expressing her concern about Lucenio's upcoming trip. "That is great, but I wasn't going to talk about yesterday. I'm concerned about your trip. Promise me you'll be okay," she urged.
Lucenio, taken aback by her unexpected worry, assured her, "Yes, Mother, don't worry I have Father there anyway, so if anything, bad happens, he will intervene to save me."
The mother's concern lingered, undiminished by Lucenio's assurances. "I'm telling you, son, beware and don't treat this journey lightly. Choose the best gadgets available, and no matter what happens, return in one piece. Don't bite off more than you can chew. A tactical retreat is not a sign of weakness."
“Mother, why are you…” Lucenio began, but his mother’s urgency cut him off “Please promise
me.Just say I promise.”
"Okay I promise to come back safe, no matter what."
He then went to choose from his father's armory.he realized that his father had entrusted him with something special – a well-crafted weapon reserved for the best of the best.Filled with anticipation, Lucenio headed to the basement, the weight of the room promisinguntold treasures. Staring at the room's door, Lucenio's heart pounded as he imagined the wonders hidden within, determined to access its contents attempts to open it failed repeatedly. Seated and breathing heavily, he speculated that his father had used his fire prowess
to secure the vault. Determined to access its contents, Lucenio pondered, "How should I open this vault? Father used his fire prowess to close it and told me to get what I wanted.
In a moment of self-reflection, he considered how he could present himself as his father's son when he couldn't even open thea simple door. Determined, he stood up, channeling his frustration into an attempt to force it open. The door budged slightly before closing again, leaving Lucenio screaming, "I'll burn you down one day, stupid vault!"
An unexpected voice interrupted his rage, "So, the elder son stands weak in front of a simple vault." Lucenio turned, ready to confront the speaker, only to be taken aback. "You?!"
"Is this how you greet your father's right hand?" the familiar face responded.
"Kai? Why are you here? Weren't you in the Khanmong Empire? When did you come back?"
"I came because the captain ordered me to come. He needed my help, and just now, the captain sent me to remind you to bring Nolan and meet him after 2 hours. And to help you choose a weapon if you need any.”
Lucenio, with a hint of frustration, confessed, "Yeah, about that, I can't seem to open the vault."
A trace of skepticism crossed Kai's expression. "Oh, I don't think it's worth going to bring Nolan then."
"Why?! It's not my fault. He used his aura to close it, as if it's not heavy enough."
Kai calmly responded, "Your father never used aura on it"
Lucenio, feeling the weight of Kai's implication, began to sweat, questioning his own strength. Was he too weak to open a simple vault?
Kai took charge, asserting, "Move; let me check." Surveying the vault, he effortlessly opened it with one hand. Before Lucenio could react, kai closed it again. Kai's words cut through the
air, "Are you sure you've trained enough? You don't have any powers, and you've focused solely
on your physical side.Even so you couldn't lift a simple vault door. I don't think you're fit for this
mission. I'll go tell the captain not to waste his time."
Lucenio, his teeth clenched, responded with a commanding tone, "Stop right there. Either I open this vault, and we both go, or I won't, and I will release all my frustration on you. One of us will leave here alive."
"So, both ways, I'll leave the basement. But fine, I'll give you one chance to open it. If you can't, I'll leave and inform the captain."
Amidst anger and frustration, Lucenio questioned his returning inner voices. Something felt different this time. The voices were numerous, incomprehensible, yet strangely empowering. A surge of strength accompanied his renewed attempt at the vault.Fueled by anger, frustration, and a sudden surge of hatred towards Kai. With a determined pull, he declared, "Kai, you're a lucky one." The door creaked open with a resounding crack.Kai, wearing a proud smile, observed a small glowing object within the vault understanding the father’s trick . Swiftly concealing it, he remarked, "Your father will undoubtedly be displeased with us for breaking into his vault."
"Perhaps he'll consider a lighter one now."
"Or a heavier one."
Lucenio, reflecting on his inexplicable outburst, apologized, "I didn't know why I said what I said or felt that way. I'm sorry, Kai. I shouldn't have threatened you."
Kai, understanding, reassured, "No worries. You're still too weak to fulfill that promise."
Relief washed over Lucenio
"Now stop gazing up and choose your gadget."
Right, I'll delve into it," Lucenio muttered, peering into the room. The sight before him unfolded
like a feast, For a brief couple of minutes, Lucenio stood frozen, reveling in the possibility of choosing from this arsenal. Breaking the silence, he pondered aloud,
"Was Dad truly this strong?"
"Let's say he never accepted gifts or even bought any, except for those three," Kai replied,
gesturing towards three old weapons in the corner – a katana, a long sword, and normal sword.
Intrigued, Lucenio questioned, "What drove Dad to acquire these three?"
"Why not ask him next time?"
Lucenio continued exploring the weapons, holding and inspecting each one. However, with every attempt, he found flaws – either too heavy, incompatible with his fighting style, or lacking the right feel. Despite the effort, he couldn't find a suitable weapon. With a lost voice, Lucenio admitted, "I searched everything but couldn't find anything suitable."
Kai stood silently, watching Lucenio's struggle. Even after Lucenio's plea for assistance, Kai
remained quiet. Their eyes locked, and after a moment, Kai exhaled and advised, "Clear your
head, calm the fire within your heart. The weapon will call you."
Lost in Kai's cryptic advice, Lucenio looked at the weapons again, contemplating which one
would define his path. His eyes eventually settled on one of the three weapons his father had acquired.
Turning to Kai, he declared, "We can leave now, and your words didn't help."
Kai responded with a smile:” That's precisely why you sought my counsel, isn't it?" Both shared
a moment of understanding before departing. However, Lucenio's departure was briefly interrupted by a small dagger that caught his attention. He felt an unfamiliar chill. Curiosity piqued, he asked Kai, "I doubt Dad would reject me for choosing two weapons."
“But which one is your primary?"
"I'll wield the sword and keep the dagger a secret."
“Fine. Now, choose your armor, Lucenio."
a heavy armor an assassin armor full black with a light cape another armor made from leather short sleeves and shorts and one more armor grey armor a long sleeve and another short, long pants and have a lot of pockets to hold knifes and small gadgets.
As Lucenio prepared for the upcoming journey, he took a moment to reflect. He adorned himself in the newly chosen armor, the weight of his dagger and sword feeling reassuring in his grasp. Confusion swirled within him—yesterday's breakdown, the surge of anger towards Kai, and the unsettling black substance. Yet, an unexpected wave of happiness and motivation now coursed through him, leaving him both puzzled and invigorated. Lucenio
couldn't escape the question: "Will I be able to work this out?" He half-opened his new sword,
appreciating the significance of having two new weapons. Determined to focus, he told himself,
"This trip will be the decider. Am I meant for special things, or will I be... just normal?"Gazing at his reflection in the mirror, Lucenio saw a mix of fear, worry, and determination on his face. With a deep breath, he left for Nolan's house—a 15-minute walk next to the village square. The opulent mansion of Nolan's father, one of the wealthiest in the CALIQORA EMPIRE.
Knocking on the door, Lucenio was greeted by the maid. Without hesitation, he headed to
Nolan's room. Nolan, engrossed in his studies, remained oblivious to his surroundings. Lucenio,
moving swiftly, yanked the chair from beneath Nolan, sending him to the floor while laughter
echoed in the room. "You always lose track of your surroundings when you read," Lucenio
teased. Lucenio delivered the news: his father wanted Nolan to join them on a
trip or mission. Nolan, curious, asked, "So where to?"
"I don't know. He just ordered me to bring you with us."
"An order? Then it must be serious. I'll have to come, but I should ask my parents first."
"Come on, prepare your stuff, get your weapon, and let's go," Lucenio urged.
But Nolan, noticing Lucenio's intense demeanor, questioned, "Wait, something changed. Why do you look as if you're going to war?"
Lucenio proudly displayed his armor and the two weapons he had chosen, directing Nolan to
their designated spots where he put them before pranking Nolan Lucenio grinned, "I'll let you
hold them. Now, get your things; let's go. Excitement filled the room and Nolan started preparing
for the journey.
Nolan, packing his leather backpack with essentials, revealed a thin long chain, Lucenio,
surprised, questioned its presence. Nolan explained, "My mom would kill me if she knew I still
use it. She wants me to change my weapon because it's too dangerous. That's why I train with my teacher using this fighting staff."
"But it's similar to a sword, right?" Lucenio remarked.
"I know that, but I hate the limited range that is why I love the chain it feels that I can control the rhythm of the fight. Maybe one day, I'll convince her."
Their conversation was abruptly interrupted by Nolan's mother, a classic and elegant figure,
entering the room with two paper bags of snacks. She received Captain Alexander's message
about the mission, ensuring Nolan's safety, and acknowledged Lucenio's preparations. With
gratitude, the two boys thanked Nolan's mother and departed, making a brief stop at their main spot before leaving it was under a bronze statue for a great warrior riding his horse standing over a
mountain of corpse and the corpse of a great lizard standing a stand of victory.
The two boys started eating the snacks while talking.
“so what are your plans for the exam did you tell your parents?”
“they actually saw through my lie"
“so youre going now?”
‘I don’t know I have to many problems on my plate and the result of this exam will break me for
sure I even had a breakdown because of all the pressure yesterday”
“do you want to talk about it?”
Lucenio sighed, struggling to find the right words my parents will sure be waiting for the exam
results but I know the results I will not have any powers “
“But why are you removing the idea of you being an INCIDER ?"
“How can I be an INCIDER and all my family EXTENDER my father and brother fire and my
mother and sister wind and I can’t be an MORPHOZER “
Lucenio than added:” you know my worst moment when I saw my parents trying to hide the
looks of disappointment and trying to console me.”
“yeah, I know we were both excited that day”
"Yes but the worst part was my uncle he came with his son and started showing off rubbing it in my father's face who I always thought of as strong and proud, was helpless for the first time it was unsettling. First time I heard the voices and felt anger bubbling within me. I tried to answer back, but I was just an 8-year-old then, and I couldn’t say anything except UNCLE SHUT-UP
my courage wavered after it especially when my uncle threatened to hit me with his cane.
Thankfully, my dad stepped in to stop him. However, that didn't save me from his son's
aggression who turned me into his bullying material . I became the mockery of that boy.
The surroundings fell silent until Lucenio declared, 'You know what? each problem one at a time. I have this weird trip, the wedding, the black substance, the voices, and the exam.
'Wait, what black substance and what voices?' Nolan asked.
Lucenio brushed it off, saying, 'Oh, it's nothing. Don't mind it.'
Worried, Nolan replied, 'Lucenio, I don't want anything bad happening to you. What if it's a real
problem? You might be in danger.'
'Stop worrying. I won't put myself in danger. I'll take care of everything. You know you have a
strong friend.'Nolan could see through Lucenio's act, realizing his friend was on the verge of breaking down.
He decided not to pressure him further. Lucenio sat there, memories of the past and old traumas
flooding back. The voices screamed in his mind
until Nolan interrupted, asking, 'Are you ready to go on this journey, brother?'
'More than ready. Try not to slow me down,' Lucenio replied.
Nolan smiled, 'We'll see who will slow the other down.'
