The girl had been shot from behind by one of the village people. The girl's parents cried out for the loss of their daughter, while people looked at each other in confusion. But their confusion soon turned into fear. The great beast stood there, right next to his dying maiden, and with tears in his eyes, he howled a blood-curdling howl that filled the forest in fear and silence. The great beast flew in a crazed frenzy and started attacking the village people. The beast was shot countless times but never fell. One by one, he killed the village people until there was no one left. Blood, both his and the village people, were running down all over his fur. His back was covered in arrows. The beast's breathing was wavering and his consciousness was fading. He gently picked up his maiden and slowly carried her to the open. The floor was covered in hydrangea flowers which were the young girl's favorite flowers in the forest. The beast gently placed her in the bed of hydrangea flowers, and placed a flower in her hand, as he howled a sorrowful howl. Then the beast gently laid beside his maiden and drifted off to a deep slumber.
