The redhead looked confused and alarmed by the sudden shouting, but well, it was just his black-haired brother who had run past him, screaming without any concern. He covered his face with one hand, wanting to find patience within himself.
Seconds later, Daiki decided to ignore his brother and go the other way to look for Hachi. Of course, he couldn't help but think about his twin while he walked through the aisles. Wondering where he was, an image of his brother in the pastry area appeared in his mind. His twin looked entertained watching the desserts and seemed to have no intention of leaving for the moment. The redhead blushed as he thought it was a bit obvious where his twin was. He considered going to look for him, but…
There was no need to worry him. He could find Hachi before he found out.
-Daiki, did you find Hachi? Ohh, I knew you could do it! -The redhead imagined his brother praising him for a job well done. Realizing his embarrassing imagination, Daiki shook his head and with an obvious blush, he patted his head, wanting to forget what he had seen.
“So…, what was I doing…”
“Daiki, I can see him!” Minutes later, at his brother’s yelling, the red eyed one turned in the direction of his voice... noticing him standing on a shelf.
"What the…?!" the boy exclaimed before running towards Masaru. "What do you think you are…?! Ugh…”
The red eyed one looked at the shelf with many products on the floor around him. Yes, Masaru had thrown things away to be able to climb or had probably knocked things over while making his way to the top. The redhead looked around in search of a guard but seeing no one, he returned his attention to the green eyed.
“Are you crazy?! Get down at once! We are gonna get in trouble!!”
“I understand that but I'm saying I can see Hachi! He is close to the electronics and clothing area!”
"That’s…” knowing that Mitsuru had gone there, he decided to call him to let him know.
Masaru silently observed his brother while he spoke with Mitsuru on the phone, as soon as he hung up and returned his attention to him, the black-haired smiled from ear to ear.
“Masaru, get down from there!”
“Hm? Why?"
“It's an order, idiot!”
“Haha, don't be so grumpy, boss!” Masaru shouted as he looked at a point diagonally and jumped, landing in a somersault on the floor to cushion the fall.
“…” Daiki fell silent, not knowing what to say. Without having time to think, Masaru pulled his brother with him into another aisle.
“Now they won't know it was us!”
“...Until they check the security camera”
“Uh… Yeah, maybe we have to change supermarkets for a while, hehe…”
“You just made an annoying mess they’ll need to rearrange, it's not like you broke anything so I don't think anything will happen if we come back another day.”
"Good!"
“As for what you just did…”
“Isn't it cool? I can teach you if you want"
“Yes it is, but… No! Masaru, don't jump like that! Do you want to end up in the hospital again?..."
“Hm? Well, I admit that that time I didn't measure the height correctly... But don't worry! I have practiced quite a bit as you can see”
"Quite a bit…?" At the expression between irritation, fear and discontent, Masaru sighed.
“Hey, don't look at me like that, that happened about two years ago. You used to think it was cool when I jumped and just because of an accident, it’s not cool anymore?” Seeing his brother's even more bitter expression, he continued trying to justify himself. “It didn't even hurt that much! Of course I was going to try again as soon as I recovered."
“What do you mean it didn't hurt that much? You broke your leg and your arm!”
“Maybe, but that's part of learning to jump, you have to fall first,” Masaru explained with a thumbs up.
“I saw how you fell! You were lucky you didn’t fall on your head!”
“It's normal if you're learning to jump and fall with style,” Masaru replied nonchalantly. “If I was afraid of breaking something again I wouldn't have been able to learn to do something like we see in the movies!” Masaru explained “It feels like I have powers so I like to do it when the opportunity arises.”
“It's not cool to end up in the hospital!”
“No one said it would be cool to end up in the hospital…, I better show Mitsuru, I'm sure he would say it's great”
“Masaru…” Daiki groaned slightly upon hearing that idea.
“Let me guess… He doesn't even know I jumped nor can he imagine it. So..., he doesn't know why I ended up in the hospital that time?"
“Of course he doesn't know, I was the only one you showed those jumps to. He only knows that you fell and got hurt” Daiki said as he crossed his arms.
“I really don't think there's anything wrong with him knowing…”
“Are you kidding? The idiot believes that everything is a video game, if he gets excited when he sees you he might have the stupid idea of imitating you. It's better that he doesn't know that you know how to do this."
"Are you serious…?" Masaru responded upon seeing him in disbelief. “Mitsuru doesn't like to exercise, even if he likes video games I highly doubt he'll go from cheering to trying to do it himself”
"In any case! We're talking about you, I’m not okay with you doing those jumps and-”
“Is this an order, boss?!”
“Ugh... It's not like I want to order you anything, and even if I was, it's not like you’ll stop because I asked you to.”
“Ahaha, so you know it’s useless to worry when I plan to keep on doing it” Masaru smiled with amusement. “I like to follow your orders but not in things like this. Why not tell me it’s great instead? Wouldn’t you like to feel the thrill of doing something extreme?”
“No, thank you… jumping like that is unnecessary.”
“Unless there is a zombie invasion and you had to jump from one building to another…, Mitsuru would say”
“So, like I said, it's not necessary to make jumps like that.”
“Say, shouldn't we go help Mitsuru? You told him where to go but we don’t know if he caught him yet.”
“If Mitsuru sees him and has room to run after him, I trust his talent to catch up to him and at least corner him”
“Uh..., yes I guess you're right. It's almost impossible to beat Mitsuru when it comes to running. It doesn't make sense but oh well” Masaru shrugged his shoulders. “But in any case! Let’s go with him!” he added as he now pulled Daiki with him in the direction where Mitsuru was.
Daiki was sure Masaru just wanted to see Mitsuru catch Hachi if he hadn't already, and well… he had to admit that he wanted to see that too.
As they got close to where Mitsuru was, the children observed how he was kneeling in front of Hachi, who was a short distance away from the blond. Mitsuru narrowed his eyes at the puppy, basically daring him to try to escape from him.
At the funny image, Masaru smiled with amusement; However, Daiki only focused on what was happening, focused on seeing what was happening.
“What is he supposedly doing…?” Daiki questioned.
“It seems like Hachi is doing a good deed by making Mitsuru have to use his running talent. Can we say that Hachi is actually training Mitsuru?”
“You have no idea how he made me chase him to get to this point!” The blond exclaimed without taking his eyes off Hachi, he seemed to be in a delicate duel of glances.
“Haha, so I was right that Hachi is training him. You needed the exercise, Mitsuru!”
“Maybe we can approach from the side and grab him…” Daiki muttered as he thought of a strategy to end this.
“Woof! Woof!” Hachi barked several times with determination. It wasn't a violent or intimidating tone (especially since he was very small), it was evident that the little guy was just playing and was returning the challenge to the blue eyed.
“Don't even think about approaching him carelessly! This guy is waiting for an opportunity to flee!”
“We're not in a video game, you don’t have to see see Hachi as if he were a monster to hunt…”
“Daiki, don't be a spoilsport,” Masaru said as he nudged him lightly. Daiki looked at Masaru, seeing how he had started recording what was happening.
“Okay…, but send me the video later,” said the redhead, thinking that this was, without a doubt, material for him to laugh at his brother in the future. Masaru nodded as he gave a mischievous smile.
The children watched as Mitsuru lunged towards Hachi in an attempt to capture him, failing miserably at the agility of the little dog... who had simply moved to the side quickly.
As this happened, Daitaro walked towards them with an expression full of intrigue.
"What 's going on?"
“Oh, Hachi just made us exercise,” the black-haired answered in a very good mood. Hearing the answer, Daitaro smiled with great amusement.
“I see” the long-haired one looked at Daiki who looked a little downcast and embarrassed about something. Daiki looked back at him and just sighed. Daitaro thought he understood that his brothers had been trying to catch Hachi, so he approached where Hachi was and squatted down.
“Hachi, did you feel like running? It's true that we didn’t let you down in a while..., but you can't do that, no matter how funny it is to imagine them running after you."
“Woof! Woof! Woof!” The little dog barked happily, as if he were affirming what the other was saying.
“Hachi, let's go home” Daitaro called with a kind and loving voice, he stretched out his arms towards him urging him to come closer. The little dog moved his little tail from side to side excitedly before running towards his hands and ending up in the redhead's arms.
The children were amazed at the ease with which Daitaro had ended the entire chase. Masaru, who was still recording, stopped the recording and put away his cell phone to proceed to laugh at Daiki and Mitsuru's tired faces.
Mitsuru frowned and gave Daiki an annoyed expression.
“I thought you said it didn't matter knowing where Daitaro was.”
“It was an emergency and we couldn't get distracted” at the comment, Daitaro looked at his twin and smiled at him with understanding. Daiki blushed slightly and looked away so his twin wouldn't see him.
“You guys did a very good job chasing Hachi.”
“We almost caught him, we didn't need you to intervene” at what he said, Daitaro let out a brief chuckle.
"I know. I wouldn’t have given Hachi much of a chance to stretch his little paws if I had come earlier, would I, Hachi?” the long-haired one suggested to the little dog, who barked briefly, apparently affirming what was said.
Masaru looked amused by all this and couldn't complain, he had liked having a reason to run around the store; However, Mitsuru, who evidently resented having to exercise, viewed Daiki in an accusatory manner. Daiki just sighed and walked towards the cash registers.
“Should we now go for the things that Masaru wanted?” Daitaro suggested.
“Oh, right, I dropped them all when Daiki called me earlier” Masaru looked in the direction his brother had taken and cupped his hand slightly against his mouth to make his next shout more powerful. “Daiki! What chips do you want!?”
The redhead looked at his brother tiredly. Didn't he get tired of shouting?
“The ones you see that say cheddar cheese!” Daiki answered before continuing on his way out of the store.
“Gotcha, boss!” the green eyed answered with another shout. Daiki decided to ignore his shouting and just quickened his pace so that his brother would stop yelling.
He would wait near the cash registers but it was better to wait outside, so that Masaru would no longer be able to ask him anything while yelling.
