Aria stood from her desk and began to walk away, but the headache kept following her. Without looking she tried to shoo him away as calmly as she could muster. "Could you please leave me alone, I don't want to talk to anyone right now".
Elis coyly smiled as he as he tried to sound sympathetic. "Ah, come on. I just wanted to ask about the cheerleader that I went to your party with. She stopped texting me, I just wanted to see if you could talk to her for me". Aria continued walking, her eyes focused straight ahead. "Look if you want to know why she is ignoring you, you can go and ask her yourself.
Elis was annoyed with Arias's tone, "Hey, why are you being so mean? I'm asking nicely and all I get is you being difficult. To be honest, you're being kind of a bitch".
Aria stopped, her irritation rising with every word. "You almost ruined my party with whatever clown fight you were having with Giselle. And. to be honest. I bet she would've had a happier life if she never got involved with you.", she emphasized.
Elis was taken aback angered at the accusation, his tone escalating. "Why are you putting that on my head? I never forced her to do anything. And if we're passing blame here. What about Valerian? I bet she just ran away because she was sick of all of you. Yall clung to her every single fucking day and
suffocated her!".
Aria burst out at the remark disgusted at the thought, "Shut the fuck up! Don't talk like you were her friend, she didn't even like you, she thought you were nothing. Compared to her, no one would care if you disappeared. Why couldn't it be you!".
Everyone in the hallway was staring and whispering. Aria and Elis angrily stared at each other, but the stare-down was quickly interrupted as Lily pulled Aria towards her and walked away. Everyone quickly went back to their business and Elis was still there, standing in his anger.
He was beyond annoyed and offended at the thought, that people would notice if he was gone, he had so many people who cared for him it was too many to count. Elis then realized he was getting a lot more stares so he reluctantly swallowed his anger and walked away. But he was left with a bad taste in his mouth, and he couldn't wait to get home to wash it out.
Elis went through the entire day daydreaming of what transpired a few days ago, the thought was enough to send him into a giddy mood.
The pale look on Valerian's face couldn't be hidden as she walked next to Elis, her bike the only thing separating them. In silence, they strolled into the small populated street with stores sprinkled about. One of them is a small cafe with one person managing the counter. Valie set her bike outside and went into the cafe with Elis. Valie saw there were no people inside as she went to sit down and Elis went to order something at the counter. He came to the table shortly. Within a couple of minutes, the order was called out and Valie was presented with Mango tea. She was suspicious but she saw the drink only be touched by the woman at the counter and also brought to them by her. She drank, and it was surprisingly sweet, it was good.
Valie laid back and relaxed, looking out the window as she began to question. "So, why are we on this little outing?".
Elis looked confused at her demeanor, "The letter didn't tip you off. I know you know who that maniac is.", he said sternly as he also drank.
Valie paid the accusation no mind as she went on. "Who? The guy who keeps stealing the girl's soccer cleats? News flash everyone knows it the pervy teacher, I thought everyone knew that".
Elis was even more confused and irritated at her response, " What? No! The guy who killed Giselle!".
Valie kept sipping, undermining the accusation and the insult, "...Me? And how do you suppose I know this "maniac". A phone charm you found on the side of the road?".
Elis continued, trying to get a reaction, "Don't act all innocent with me. I found this in your trash, what do you think the police will have to say about that?".
Valie gave a nonchalant reaction, "That the guy who is connected to the victim is digging through an innocent girl's trash".
Elis tried to hide his irritation as he felt she was getting the better of him, "You got an answer for everything, huh? So why did you come with me then? Since you think this is nothing and you don't know anything."
Valie finished her drink and gave Elis a sincere smile, "There is a reason, but why would I tell you anything, the way you're sounding all crazy, the explanation may just make you lose it."
Elis was at his limit, but the sight of her finishing her drink was delightful as well, "You are not going to twist my head. I know you're involved somehow".
Valie finally stood as she saw the sun was going down she turned her attention to Elis one final time as she sighed, "Yea yea, here keep the change, the drink was pretty good", she promptly set down five dollars on the table and was about to exit.
Elis was beyond enraged as he tried to make one more attempt to rile her up. "Don't act so confident. What if I go to the police, huh, what then?".
Valie turned before she exited, her smile still lovely as she taunted him, "If you were planning to, you would have already done it".
Valie decided to walk for a bit on the way home, the cold air hitting her as she took in the beautiful hues of orange, purple, and blues of the sunset. She felt exhausted as the anxiety left her body. No one could accuse her of anything, no one saw anything and no one ever will. As she continued to stare into the endless sky, she felt an ache in her chest. She didn't know why but the scene made her sad for some reason.
As she continued to walk a weird sensation engulfed her. She felt more sluggish with each step, her vision becoming blurred, she knew something was wrong. With the little conscience she had left, she sought out an alleyway to hide. Her palms were clammy, her heart was racing, and she felt she was at her wit's end when she stumbled into the crevice. Valie felt so stupid as she sat alone. She didn't see smoothing coming, and that was quite obvious by the predicament she was in. Her eyes were growing heavy, but through the confusion she saw something. Through her haze, someone approached her. She saw it smile as it talked to someone else. She felt fear at that moment, hating herself as she slowly faded into darkness.
Valerian is as normal as can be, she goes to school, does her assignments, has friends she adores, and even has a crush. However, she can also be irrational, cold, and unforgiving if you catch her eye. Whatever you do, try not to get her attention, leave her alone, and as anybody can tell you, she loves beautiful things.
