I knocked on the door and entered the office, my eyes landing on Nemesio who was sitting behind his desk. Our eyes connected and I smiled before walking to his desk. “I hope your conversation with your brother went well. And I want to know if you would like me to leave or stay the remainder of the work day,”

He sat there, looking away from me, “It’s your choice. I’ll make sure you don’t get in trouble for any of this,”

“No, I’m going to stay as there's only four more hours and I should get use to those type of behaviors,” I smiled at him as I sat down in my chair and opened my laptop, typing in my username and password

“What do you mean you have to get use to those behaviors? In the workforce, our clients aren’t like that,”

“Well, I'm not entirely welcomed here and I have to be accustomed to them not liking me and not wanting me to be in the same room as them,” I looked at him, “So, that's why for the next appointment we have with a client, I will leave so they don't feel betrayed by you for having a assistant like me,”

He just stared at me, just a blank face. He looked back at his computer and it was utter akwkard silence. I look at my computer screen before it was closed and I look at Nemesio. “Layla, you are my assistant, my trainee and you are suppose to be by myself every step of the way. You shouldn't have to think for them as it shouldn't matter to them if your a human,”

I sighed, “Mr. Neville, this is your reptuation and work on the line, so I'm not letting my kind ruin everything you've worked for,”

“I truly don't understand how you think,”

“Well, I try to think reasonable and I'll only be missing a few appointments only if they express their disappointment or disgust at me,” I smiled at him before opening my laptop, “Now, should we focus on the current case we have,”

“After getting assualt from a client, you still wish to work?”

“Yes, I can't let that affect me as she's just a moment while this is a life experience,”

“We want some ice cream!” Ysennian sang as we walk into the marketplace of Okai

It was Saturday and our day off. After that event, Nemesio has been very careful on which clients to pick and whenever there was an appointment. He would ask them if they felt comfortable with a human assistant in the room. Most of the clients wouldn’t mind, but I would leave if they didn’t want me there. Yes, it did hurt me but I wanted to make sure to not harm Nemesio’s reptuation.

“-yla. Layla!” I looked at Sandra, “It seems our little lovesick birdy is out of her dreamland,” She interwined our arms together, “So, Layla, how has the past 3 weeks been for you and Mr. Mysterious,”

“Hey, hold on,” Ysennia said, “Let’s get some ice cream first and then we can gossip about Layla’s love life,”

“I second that,” Alex said, raising his hand, “Now, let’s hurry. I think my skin is already burning,”

We walked to the ice cream shop, waited and got our ice cream. We found a shaded area at the local park and just ate our ice cream in peace before Sandra broke the silence.

“So, Layla, what’s the scoop with your lover?”

My eyes widened and I chocked on my mint chocolate ice cream, “He is… He is not my lover. I don’t know what caused you to think that,”

“It’s the way he looks at you,” Kelli said, “And the way he reaches for your hand,”

“What!” Ysennia yelled, covering her mouth, “Sorry, but when did this happen?”

“He never held my hand,” I said, reasssuring everyone

“I said I would help. So, I would be behind them most of the times and see the way he’ll looked down at her and motioned his hand to hers, like wanting to reach it,” She looked at Alex, “Raise your hand, I’ll show them what I mean,”

Alex raised his hand and Kelli lightly brushed her back hand against his. She also reached out her fingertips to try to touch his. “Damn, I guess he’s really holding himself back,” Alex hugged himself, “But thats so romantic. You got yourself a good one, Layla,”

“Ha, ha,” I glared at them, “it’s never going to happen, so just stop it,”

“And you are lying, so let’s be honest. You have a crush on him, Layla. Don’t deny it,” Sandra playfully pushed my shoulder, “I truly don’t understand why you’re denying it. And don’t say because of that law because he can easily fight it,”

I sat there, finishing my ice cream. As I thought about my feelings for him, but the law kept appearing and I’m scared something will happen to him due to my greed. “It’s difficult for me as were of two different species and yes, he’s handsome, but he’s not the one for me,”

“You know what it’s time to commence J.A.P,” Ysennia said, taking out a notepad and pen, “Alex, we need to go over some pointers,”

“Wait, what are you doing? And whats J.A.P.?” I asked, confused

“It stands for Jealously with Alex Plan,” Sandra said, leaning in closer to see Ysennia’s notepad

“Wait, no, no, no,” I reached for the notepad, but Kelli blocked my way, “You seriously don’t think that will work, it’s a cliche way,”

“But, its the best way unless he beats up Alex,” Ysennia shrug

“Hey! I’m risking my life here and here you are joking about it. I can always quit from this plan,”

“You won’t,” Ysennia patted his shoulder, “Now, for the first part, we have to learn each other’s schedules so we can be there every step of the way or just as long, Alex can be there with Layla. So, Layla, when do you and Neville take lunch or any breaks?”

“Uh, we take one in the morning like 8am or 9am to which I go down to the cafe and bring coffee to his office. We try to eat lunch around 1pm just as long as he’s not busy. Then I go to get snacks later in the afternoon to keep ourselves awake and motivated,” I told them

“Alex, what about you?” Ysennia asked, writing down in her notepad

“Well, my lawyer lets me do anything like go downstairs to get snacks and drinks, but we do take lunch around Neville’s time since they like to chat with each other. I can work around Layla’s schedule,”

“Oh, this will be the perfect opportunity,” Ysennia giggled, setting her notepad on her lap, “Layla, do you have Alex’s phone number?”

“I do,” I took my phone out and made sure, I showed her it, just for her to take it, “Hey, what are you doing?”

“Making sure our plan is perfect,” She focused on my phone before handing it back to me

I looked at the change she made and glared at her, “Why did you change his name to this?”

“We have to get this plan moving. In order to make Mr. Neville jealous, we need a chessy name for each of you since Alex will be calling or texting you whenever he has the chance. Hey don’t give me that look, I’m doing this for your love life,”

“My love life? What if he doesn’t like me and this is all for nothing,”

“Hah, you truly think he doesn't like you. And this is going to prove you wrong,” Ysennia laughed

“Since, we're out we should look for a gift that Alex can give to Layla,” Sandra said, getting up and stretching out her body

“I'm gonna pick it out,” Alex said, getting up as well

“Alex, no offense, your taste is horrible,” Sandra shook her head

“How about I pick it?” I said, “As I'm the one receiving it and I can show a genuine reaction,”

“Damn, I know my taste is bad, but you all didn't have to show it,” He walked off

We all laughed at him as we followed behind him. We encircled him as walked around, trying to find a gift that was right for me or caught my attention. I stopped in my tracks as I walked closer to the store window. The glisten off the glass, blinding me for a second.

“Is this what you want, Layla?” Alex asked, appearing beside me

“Yes, it may seem basic, but caught my heart,”

“It's very beautiful, indeed. I'm gonna see how much it is and buy it,”

“Wait, no,” I grabbed my arm, but he dragged me along

“Hello!” Alex said as he walked up to the counter, “I would like to purchase that crystal star in the window,”

The cashier smiled, “Good evening, thank you for your interest in our product, but unfortunately, it's on the pricer side. I have other products that are similar to it,”

“Well, can you at least tell me the price as my girlfriend fancies it,”

I stiffened and looked at him, my eyes wide, “What are you doing?” I whispered

“Well, If you'll like to know, sir. It's 830 Ilding. I know it's expensive for the way it looks, but inside the crystal, there is a Dragon wrapped around the moon, so-,”

“Well get it,” I quickly took out my wallet and started counting out my money
