“Oh, um, I’m, er, I’m a service attendant,” Jillian pursed her lips and twirled a lock of her black hair around her slender forefinger. “I work in the kitchen, and also serve coffee and other beverages to the corporate staff members all through the day.”

“Ah, I see.” Gina tapped noisily on her laptop keys. “That is a very important job in the corporate sector.”

“Yes, it is.” Jillian smiled a little. “Everyone needs their morning coffee and bagel.”

“I can attest to that for sure.” The surveyor smiled back. “And you have access to all the corporate levels, from the mailroom all the way to the top?”

“Not from the mailroom.” Jillian fidgeted with the thin silver ring on her left middle finger. “From the executive office all the way to the top.”

“To Mister Dietrich Hammer himself?”
