“Layla, are you a human calculator?” Frey asked, shocked
I looked back at him from the chalkboard, “No, I don't think I am. I just get the numbers quicker,” I set the chalk on the holder
“Now, everyone, don't start to bombard Layla with questions or help as she has her own problems to deal with,” Professor Lun interrupted when hands raised up and a few got up
“I'm willing to help,” I said, raising my hand, “I know it's difficult as I was like that beforehand, but it slightly gets easier,”
“Is it to late to drop this class?” Olive cried as she laid her head on the desk
“Now, now everyone. This class may seem hard, but as long as you practice and read a little more of the material. You'll get the hang of it,” Professor got up on the podium and I sat in my chair, “Astrology is still new even though it's been known for 400 years. The stars hold more information than we know,”
“So, we're basically learning information we know from the stars?”
“Well not exactly,” Professor Lun went up to chalkboard and started to write, “The information we know from the stars are well known to others but here in this class, we will be debunking or either proving that the information is correct. The reason I'm teaching you mathematics is because the stars in sky can tell us many different things by the way their separated from each other. You do know that the stars we can see are actually suns or those who have lose their energy and are just empty hollow ball of energy and when it's their time to go, they exploded and disappear from the sky. It may not make sense now but later on in the class, it will,” She looked at us
“It's a interesting concept, but I thought we were gonna learn about the zodiac signs and the tarot cards,”
“We will learn of them as well but this class is of astrology and astronomy,” Professor Lun sighed
“I'll rather take this class than gardening,”
“Well, stay and enjoy the astro life!”

“Layla,” Ysennia groaned as she rested her head on my shoulder, “Can you please come for me?”
“Ysennia, you know I don't like going to those type of events,”
“Layla, it's a party and think of it as a going away party,”
I let out a sigh, “We don't know if we're selected yet, Ysennia,”
“Well I have a feeling that were selected, so come with me,”
“I don't like alcohol nor crowded places,”
“Then how about we stay in a quiet, secluded area?”
“Ysennia, there is never a secluded area,”
“Then how about we stay there for an hour and then we can head back,”
I looked at her, “You truly want me to go to this party with you,”
“Yes, Layla! With my whole life, I want you to go. You've just been here studying and studying without any fun,”
“But I do have fun?”
“Not the way its suppose to be done, so let me show you. And if you don't like it then I won't pressure you to go ever again,”
I looked down at my journal and thought of the pros and cons of going to a party. There were a lot of cons for me, but I never tested this theory out. If I went to a party, would I be able to sleep more than three hours?
“Okay, I'll go,” I said, nodding my head
“Really?”
“Yes, I just thought it'll be good for me,” I smiled at her
“You're going to have so much fun, Layla. I can promise you that,” She got up and kissed my cheek, “I'll see you tonight,”
My eyes widened, “Wait, it's tonight?” I watched as she left
Oh god, what did I get myself into? I always mess up my schedule.

“I'm not wearing that,” I looked at the outfit she brought for me
“Layla, it'll look perfect on you. I promise you that,”
“Can't I just go in this?” I motioned to my outfit
She looked me up and down before staring at me, “Layla, are you joking with me? There's no way you're going in sweatpants, a crop top, and cardigan,”
“Why not?”
“You look like you're about to go to bed,”
“And I am. I'm testing out a theory,”
“Layla,” She groaned before grabbing me by her shoulders, “You are going to change into this dress and you can still try out your theory,”
“But I have to be comfortable if I fall asleep,”
“Then you can lean on me once you fall asleep,” She shoved the dress into my arms, “Now get dressed so I can fix your makeup,”
“Ysennia, I don't know about that,” I cautiously touched my face
“Trust me, Layla. That's all you have to do. I won't let anything happen to you,”
“Okay,”

“I didnt know it was this far from the academy,” I clung onto Ysennia's arm as we walked up the hill to the house
“It's not that far even the headmaster knows this party is happening so he's lenient. He just doesn't want us to do anything stupid as that could tarnish the academy reputation,”
“What? So the headmaster doesn't do anything to prevent us from going?”
“Nope, he understands we need fun especially for you. Now, don't run away from me. We're almost there,”
I gulped once I saw a crowd of people at the entrance. Remember Layla, this is for science, your experiment.
We entered the house and loud music blocked my thoughts. I held onto Ysennias arm tightly. We pushed past the crowd, finally reaching a destination.
“I'm here!” Ysennia yelled, “And I bought Layla along,” She pushed me forward and I noticed it was my classmates
“Layla!” Everyone yelled
“Yes, she's finally here,” Roxy pulled me in for a hug, “You're going to have so much fun, Layla. I’ll show you everything,”
“Um, thank you, but I'll rather be hidden and alone,”
“That's Layla for you,” Kai laughed, “Here, Layla, this will help you relax,” He handed me a drink
I looked at it then back at him and he motioned me to drink it.
“You don't have to drink it, Layla,” Ysennia reached for my drink but I decided to gulp it down only to regret it
“I-its… for my… research,” I coughed as my throat burned
“There we go, Layla!” They all yelled
“No more drinks for Layla,” Ysennia said, sternly
“Oh come on, Ysennia. This is her first time out and it may be her last time, so let's have her enjoy it,”
“But-,”
“Even there's no classes tomorrow so she'll be fine with missing a day for studying,” Eli looked at me, “What do you say, Layla? Do you want a change for a few hours?” She held out a drink
I looked at the drink then at her, “Only for tonight?”
“Only for tonight. And don't worry, we'll be protecting you so you enjoy your night,” She smiled at me
“Okay,” I took the drink from her and almost took it down before someone stopped me
“Slow down there, newbie,” Kai stopped me, “You can take sips, don't drown it down unless it's tequila or vodka,”
I nodded, making sure to take a sip. This was my first time drinking and it sure did leave a sting at the end, but why wouldn't it since it's alcohol.
“If anyone wants to go to the dance floor then go right ahead. I'm staying with Layla,” Ysennia said, interwining our arms
“Are you sure? We can trade if we want to rest?” Roxy said, “Even it's not fair if your the only one with Layla,”
“Have fun!” I waved my hand at them, smiling
“I think we have a light drinker here,” They all laughed and walked away
I stayed there with Ysennia, just watching others. I was intrigued by the way they acted. Each other different and I've only noticed one acting my entire life.
“Are you having fun? Or trying to?” I looked at Ysennia
“Yes I am even if I'm not acting like them. Its a new atmosphere for me,” I smiled at her, “Are you having fun?”
“Of course I am. I can still hear the music and dance where I am,” She started to dance, bumping her hip with mine, I laughed, “All that matters is that your having fun,”
“I do like the music, very interesting to me,” I closed my eyes, listening closely to the lyrics
‘Eyes don't lie
Eyes don't lie
You tell me your secrets
You keep your life between your lips
You know you’re my weakness
Tell stories with your fingertips…’
I opened my eyes due to a piercing feeling. My eyes connected with another pair. Their blue eyes piercing into mine, but entrancing me as well. They outshine the oceans beautiful blue color. I took a step forward, letting my curiosity take control.
‘Darling you look divine
Eyes don't lie
Eyes don't lie…’
I stopped in my tracks due to being pulled back but I couldnt look anywhere else but those eyes.
‘Pull you in exchanging souls
Trace my skin, losing control…’
The eyes looked away, destroying my sincerity. I rushed forward trying to follow the white hair that kept me at peace, but I was pulled back once more.
“Layla, what are you doing?” Ysennia turned me around to look at her
I was met with worried green eyes. “These are the eyes I don't want to see,” I looked around trying to find the blue eyes
“Layla, look at me,” Ysennia grabbed my face, making sure I look at her, “You truly are a light weight. We're going back,”
She dragged me along, making me trip, but I stable myself. I continue to look for those eyes but it was a failure.
