For starters, she was barely five feet tall, maybe an inch over. Her hair, dark and shoulder length, was usually a mess and her face was as plain as pizza dough.
As far as her body went, she was hardly more than skeletal and her skin tone was a pale, florid disappointment. And that’s what Jillian was, almost always disappointed in herself for the looks she was cursed with.
She couldn’t really feel bad about Dana and Sylvie’s teasing her.
At the very least they were being honest. And though they were a part of her every workday since the beginning of her year and half tenure as a service attendant at the Hammer Corp. Food and Beverage department, they remained her colleagues and never became her friends.
Jillian McKnight had no friends.
