It took Crash less than a few seconds to see that Quinn wasn't up for walking. His legs were still jello. His mind was fighting to connect everything he had just seen. Crash did the next best thing and threw Quinn over his shoulder.
"You're naked." Laughed Quinn, his mind leaving behind the scary thoughts for the nice ass that was right in front of his face, poking it with his finger.
"If you poke my ass one more time, kid." Growled Crash.
"Ohhh. . . scary naked man." Teased Quinn.
Crash knew that Quinn wasn't in the right state of mind to realize just how bad all of this could be for him, but that didn't make Crash any less mad at the situation. He didn't stop carrying Quinn until he reached the main area, placing him in a chair near the dying fire.
"Don't move." He growled, pointing at Quinn to keep his ass in that chair.
Crash didn't even get two steps away from Quinn before he heard him moving, "I said don't fucking move." He ordered this time, smirking to himself when Quinn complied.
"Hey! Love," Spoke Crash, putting on his charm as he tapped Jenny on the shoulder. "I need a favor." He smirked.
"Anything for you." She smiled, her eyes washing over him as he stood there naked, twirling the end of her hair around her finger as she admired the ink that ran along his body.
"Can you make sure his ass doesn't move from that chair?"
Jenny leaned to see if it was the guy from the night before, "What is he on?"
"The fuck if I know. Just watch him." Crash started to walk off. "I owe you." He really needed to get back.
"It's going to be a big one." She yelled, loving the fact that she now had a table member owing her.
Quinn started to get up as Crash walked back by him. He was heading for the woods again, "Stay." Barked Crash with a firmness again, pointing back to the chair.
Oh, Brandon was going to owe him big time for this. He saved his brother's ass and owed a favor to a fucking bunny. As well as needing to get back and handle the three that spotted Quinn out there before he got to him.
* * * * *
The one-night Crash looked forward to the most the entire year was almost ruined by an outsider no less. He got back to the main pack just in time before things got started.
Not everyone in the gang was gifted with transformation. One had to earn the right to shift, others were born with the gene, and some were like Crash.
He used to believe it was a curse, but he had moved past his anger and accepted it for the blessing that it was. Crash getting bit that night ten years ago honestly saved his life.
He fell into his assigned slot. Everyone lined up in order to what they were. First in command and on down, the top circle of each chapter consisted of the top three wolves. Then the second was a group of five. And then the third was anyone in the chapter with the gift.
Table members were of the top two circles. Every member that held a spot at the table would be challenged tonight.
Any members with the gift that were given the nod from their chapters first in command would be allowed to fight for a spot at the table. They would be allowed to challenge a member of the second circle for their position.
There were a few men and women that came out here tonight to fight for the right to be gifted with the right to walk among them at night. In a perfect world, everyone would either be born as a wolf or be given the gift once it was earned. Crash fell into a frowned upon area by being marked against his will and given a gift he didn't earn which caused some to hate him. Even more, hated that he worked his way up to second over the last few years. Crash honestly only did it because of them. They fueled his ego to prove them all wrong. He wasn't given something he didn't earn. Crash had every right to be here like the rest of them.
Crash cut his gaze to Brandon. He was waiting to prove himself worthy of the gift. They both knew it was to be his year which is why Crash was puzzled by the fact he felt bringing Quinn along with him was okay.
Quinn wasn't supposed to find out about who they were. Hence the reason they cover themselves with the whole biker gang fasuad. Sure the biker aspect wasn't far-fetched, most of the men here did have a passion for bikes and riding, but it still rubbed Crash the wrong way. He hated that he had to keep living his life in the shadows.
It's only come to be in the last two hundred years that wolves were pushed underground before there was a time that both man and wolf lived their lives alongside each other. As man grew the gene that made them diluted to the point that it became rare to find a purebred.
Man started to fear the ones who were different and began to see them as the enemy changing laws and the way of life to make things just that much harder for wolves to exist. So the men and women of the night started to close off their ranks to keep what they did have safe. To keep their bloodlines going.
Out of all of them here at the rally, Crash could count all the purebred wolves on his hands. Their chapter was lucky enough to have one, Tonka, their only purebred.
All the purebreds that were here were the first in command of their chapters. It was still a spot they had to earn, but it was also fitting for them to be at the head of the pack. Besides the fact that Tonka saved his ass all those years ago, his being a purebred was another reason why Crash didn't dare challenge him for the position. Tonka was held in high respect by Crash.
Tonka too had a bit of backlash thrown his way over how he took Crash under his wing. It honestly made Crash laugh. They hated that their kind had been basically killed off by man. But god forbid one of them be created in the manner Crash was.
Crash has the life he expected. There's nothing wrong with that, right? He lives in a world where he knows he'll never truly be accepted for who he is. For a long while he thought it had come to terms with that. Well until he met Quinn the smart mouth punk kid who just so happens to be his best friends little brother.
Quinn has never had a true home. Something he's searched for his whole life and has yet to find until he reached out to the brother he never knew he had as one final attempt at make something.
When the two of them meet their worlds collide together in ways neither thought could happen.
