You shake your head, feeling overwhelmed. "I cannot be your queen, Jack. I am just an elf, and two seconds ago I thought I was human, my masters, treated me human, and I do not even know what this endeavor of yours entails."
Jack's expression turns solemn. "Your masters treated you like a pet!" Lightning crackled out the window behind him as he spoke, his gaze burning into you, sadly, anger lacing his tone like venom.
You flinch at his words, memories of being owned and kept as a pet flooding back. "I know," you whisper. "But I don't know if I'm ready for something like this. I need time to think."
Jack nods understandingly.
"Of course, take all the time you need," he says, his voice soothing. "But know this, Evelonia. The world we live in is dangerous, and our races are on the brink of extinction. We need each other, and we need to unite if we want to survive. Think about it, and when you're ready, I'll be here."
With that, Jack leaves the room, leaving you to your thoughts. The weight of his words, his offer, and his gaze lingers in your mind long after he's gone. You can't deny the attraction you feel towards him, the pull of his presence, but at the same time, the idea of being a queen, of being responsible for both elves and vampires, is daunting.
As you stand alone in the room, you notice a book sitting on a nearby table. Curious, you walk over and pick it up, flipping through its pages. It's a journal, filled with writings and drawings that depict Jack's life and experiences. You begin to read, fascinated by the insights it provides into his mind and motivations.
