Essentially, the thing behind this comic is, Japanese houses don't have Insulation. At least, none of the older houses do. This means when you turn off the heater, you can ACTUALLY FEEL THE HEAT RUSHING OUT OF THE ROOM, and consequently, the freezing cold air rushing in. It's a really disheartening experience, to be so warm, and then to feel all the warmth exit the room at full speed, only to be left with the biting cold that, no matter how many layers, you can't block it out >_<
