Sometimes when you’re vulnerable and suffering, you end up being taken advantage of by the very people who you thought would help you. I had more pages of this scripted and thumbnailed, but it only gets worse from here, and I’ve finally concluded I don’t have the heart to finish it. I don’t want to think about the family tragedies that inspired it anymore.
Transcript:
A group of friends are walking along in an overgrown place outdoors.
One person stumbles into quicksand, saying, “Whoops!”
The person stuck in the quicksand tries to free themself, saying, “Oof… um… guys?” The rest of the group keeps walking, without noticing.
The stuck person says, “I’m stuck in quicksand. Help?” The group returns to them.
The group stands for a moment in silence, all staring down at the stuck person, their faces blank. A vulture circles overhead.
One person tilts their head, still staring, and then picks up a small stone from the ground, and throws it.
The stone strikes the stuck person on the head, who ineffectually shields themself with an arm, saying, “Ow!”
The stuck person is flabbergasted and pleads, “Why’d you do that? Help me out!”
The group exchanges a glance with one another.
Then they all begin pelting the stuck person with small stones.
One day, a lecture by mermaids; another, a space adventure. Every episode is a completely different comic, often with no relation to the last. These are miscellaneous comics that are too short to have their own series. Some were just made this week, and some were made back when I was a smol child prodigy. Posting daily.
