As I mentioned, I’d heard of Kel before even entering the new school.
The reputation which precedes her was that she’s a stereotypical petty queen bee on a power trip, but I quickly learned it to be something quite a bit more troubling.
I will start by giving a very brief explanation of both the dynamics and some things that have happened in the school cheer team, which are subjects that would allow for much more details. Those details will unveil themselves with time.
In the team, we had an unspoken rule:
"We all should agree with our choreo, group activities and any extra meetings and training sessions no matter how last minute they are and even if we don't, we do."
Since Kel and her boyfriend made all the choreo and schedules, questioning them was not an option.
Although the entire school holds the team to a high regard and we all seem very close, if you look behind the curtains — it's like everyone is waiting for someone to break character.
It might sound dramatic to say that we were almost like puppets for Kel and her boyfriend to play with, but her "leadership" goes far beyond just cheer practice.
It’s important to note none of her or the team’s behavior has anything to do with cheerleading at all. She could lead a football team or a chess club and it wouldn’t make a difference.
