The way you made me feel like a grown-up,
Gentle calloused hands searching every inch.
Candied-honey words left me a sick pup.
Waves of an ocean, I sing like a finch.
Isolation for years causing cold feet.
Keeping a vow not to catch a feeling,
Oh, how my heart thaws with your body heat.
It does break the chains of my reasoning.
I dove into the murky, black water
Not knowing what I would find inside there.
I thought to myself, “Okay, whatever.”
Just as quickly, I struggled to find air.
The moment bounded my heart in tight ropes,
In careless nature, it brought up my hopes.
