RAINBOW

Do you ever just wake up from sleeping and your body is sore? When I woke up in the morning, I felt weird and my legs and arms were aching as if I had done some kind of strong exercise routine the day before. My body is used to getting sore when I’m near my heat but there’s still time for that time of the month, so it was odd for me to feel this way so soon; maybe I should get a medical check-up from Papa Jamie, it’s been a while. Sore body and all I had gone to work, and now I was on my way back home, but first I had to make a quick stop at the mini-market to buy some groceries. 

Pushing the market car with one hand, I pulled out my phone with my groceries list, picking the stuff I was missing off the shelves and placing them down in the car. I was almost done so I walked to the refrigerated parts of the market, picking up what I needed from there and it all went down when I got to the fish part of the store.

‘Tuna! Don’t forget the tuna!’ Vivi excitedly said in the back of my mind and I picked it up, not even checking the price since I always bought it for us. ‘O.M.G! There’s salmon! I want some, Victor.’ I sighed checking the price tags, I could afford it but salmon was getting more expensive each time so I doubted buying it. ‘I don’t know about that, Vivi.’

‘Salmon! Salmon! Salmon!’ Vivi kept saying, demanding me to buy it for him; it annoys me how insistent he can be sometimes. Vivi kept going non-stop, yelling in my mind the same word over and over again making me lose my patience.

“Can you shut up?” I said out loud, stressed at Vivi’s annoying voice asking for his favorite fish meat, he instantly went silent without noticing that someone else was standing next to me.

“Oh, sorry. I didn’t mean to bother you. I just wanted to say ‘hi’.” I heard a familiar deep voice say next to me, I turned and saw Kang Dae with an apologetic look on his face. Fuck!

“Eh? No, no. I’m sorry about that. I wasn’t talking to you, officer.” I said with an awkward smile, blushing.

“Oh, then who were you talking to?” He asked with a soft smile, I could see the curiosity in his eyes.

“Uhm…I was talking to myself.” I laughed awkwardly and he laughed back. ‘His laugh is so sexy…’

“I see. Are you done with your groceries?” He asked me and I nodded after placing some salmon in the car, Vivi happily purred at the thought of getting his favorite food. “I’m done so we can walk back to the building together, I can help you with your bags.” He smiled wide, giving me a flirty look, making me blush. ‘What a gentleman…’

“Yes, let’s just pay for everything and we can go.” I smiled back at him, pushing the car to the cashier to pay for the groceries. 

After paying for our groceries, we walked out of the mini-market side by side. Kang Dae helped me with one of my bags as he had insisted it was too heavy for me to carry both of them and I actually loved his offer; my arms were still sore from my bad sleeping time last night.

“So how was work?” Kang Dae asked, breaking the silence.

“It was okay, I had a photo shoot today,” I answered with a smile looking at his profile, he was looking at the street as we walked but I knew he felt my gaze was on him.

“What was it about?” He softly smiled, asking me with curiosity.

“A couple wanted me to take photos of their baby.” 

“Was it a cute one?” He asked with his gaze still fixed on the street.

“Yeah, he was so adorable.” I giggled and he looked at me, he opened his mouth and then closed it again. “You can say what you want, don’t keep it to yourself.” He laughed and a soft pink hue showed up on his cheek.

“I just wanted to say that you are adorable too.” He said, looking into my eyes and then back to the road, as we arrived at the building. 

My cheeks were burning and I didn’t know what to say, so we walked to the elevator and stepped in. I looked at him out of the corner of my eye and noticed how he was still blushing, silence ruled over us until we reached our floor. Upon reaching my door, he looked into my eyes, passing me the bag he was carrying.

“Well, I’ll see you later.” He softly smiled and turned to his apartment but I reached for the edge of his shirt stopping him, he looked back at me confused.

“Do you…do you want to eat dinner with me?” I asked, still blushing but looking directly into his eyes. God/dess… I could get lost in those beautiful gray eyes. “As a thank you for the rice cakes you gave me the other day and for helping me with my bags.”

“Sure, let me go put this away and come back.” He said, putting his arm up and showing me his bags. “You can wait for me inside.” I let his shirt go and nodded with a smile, he smiled back and walked to his apartment. 

Joyful and excited, I walked into my apartment to find a mess, my face went pale and I freaked out after realizing I had forgotten to put the clothes I washed away and there were not only clothes…but my underwear; my lacy, cute and sexy lingerie. Leaving aside my shopping bags, I quickly ran to put away all the clothes in my room; Kang Dae could arrive at any moment. 

Ding dong.

‘Fuck! I jinxed it’ I threw it all on my bed and closed the door behind me, leaving a mess in my room instead. I fixed my hair and then opened the main door, pulling out my best smile for Kang Dae.

“Hi again.” He smiled at me, showing his teeth and I noticed how his canines were a bit longer than usual, but that gave him a unique touch and made his smile even more eye-catching for me.

“Hi, come in,” I said and then moved to the side, leaving him space to come inside my apartment.

“You have a really nice place, it’s colorful just like you.” He chuckled and then leaned over to take something from the floor, I noticed something pink on his hand, something lacey…

‘Oh no.’

‘Oop.’

“Is this yours?” Kang Dae asked me while giving me a flirty smile and showing me the cloth. I blushed, my face feeling hot due to how embarrassed I was, I quickly took the cloth off his hand and hid it in my pocket.

“S-sorry about that, it must have fallen from my laundry basket,” I said embarrassed looking at him.

“Don’t worry, I think it’s cute and kind of sexy.” He said jokingly, still smiling at me. “I would love to see how it looks on you one day.” He winked at me, making me blush even more.

‘So he likes this kind of thing. Noted.’ Vivi said, taking a mental note. ‘Flirt back.’ 

“Maybe I’ll show you someday,” I answered with all the courage I had and gave him a flirty look back.

Kang Dae smiled and got closer to me, way too close. Leaning down over me, our faces getting closer, I noticed how close his lips were and started closing my eyes, getting carried away by the moment. ‘I want to kiss him…’

Our lips were getting closer and I could feel his breath against mine. 

‘Just a little more…’ 

Brrr.

Kang Dae laughed and stepped away from me and I blushed, embarrassed at the rumble of my stomach. 

“You must be hungry, should we get to cooking? I can help.” Kang Dae suggested still laughing a bit.

“Sure, let's cook now,” I answered, blushing and embarrassed. This is what happens when you don’t eat a proper lunch.

After looking at all the ingredients we have we decided to cook some shrimp rose pasta. With the pasta in its boiling water, I decided to be in charge of the sauce while Kang Dae decided to clean and prepare the shrimp. We were quiet until I decided to break the silence.

“Those sweet rice cakes you gave me as a present were delicious.” I smiled while mixing the sauce.

“I’m glad you liked them. I can cook more for you.” He said carefully cleaning every shrimp professionally. Who can look so sexy while cleaning shrimp? Well, the answer is Kang Dae; I love a man who can cook.

“I would love that, I can help too. I want to learn.” I smiled widely and he looked at me finishing his task of cleaning the shrimps.

“It will be an honor for me to teach you.” Kang Dae softly smiled at me. How can a man be so handsome when he is just smiling? Maybe the God/dess is at my side.

“And it will be an honor for me to learn from you.” I giggled and kept doing my task taking care of the sauce.

“I meant to ask but I forgot earlier…where is your cat?”

“Cat? What cat?” I said confused, turning to look at him. 

“I saw a cat last night on my balcony and then he got in yours when he left. It was black with beautiful green eyes just like yours.” 

Wait a minute…

Black cat. Green eyes.

‘Vivi. Do you have something you would like to confess to me?’ I asked him in a serious tone but I didn’t get an answer back. ‘It was you, wasn’t it?’

‘Okay fine. It was me, you left the balcony door open and I just wanted to see him. And let me tell you, his hands were so big and they felt so nice on me.’ Vivi purred in the back of my mind, I could see him rolling on his back and moving his tail playfully. I was jealous of him but also angry.

‘Don’t ever do that again. You shouldn’t take over without my permission, no wonder my body was so sore in the morning.’ I scolded him, it wasn’t the first time he had done that, he usually stayed home but this time he had gone out and he went to Kang Dae, he could have given us away.

‘Fine, I promise I won’t do it again.’ Vivi huffed and then went quiet again.

“Yes, that was my cat. His name is Vivi.” I smiled at him and he smiled back.

“That’s a cute name, he is such a lovely cat.” Vivi purred, content with Kang Dae’s compliments. “How long has he been with you?”

“He has been with me since forever, he’s like my best friend,” I said with a soft smile while keeping an eye on the food.

“Where is he now?” Kang Dae curiously asked and I panicked. How should I answer him?

“Oh, well. He likes to go out at night and walk around the city.” I lied, Vivi hated the outdoors, he preferred to be at home napping, eating fish, and damaging my furniture with his claws.

‘That’s not true.’ Vivi denied it, outraged by the accusations made against him.

‘Vivi we’ve changed our sofa many times.’ I sighed and kept cooking alongside Kang Dae and after the food was ready, we sat down at the table to delight our palate with the food we had prepared. I saw how Kang Dae took a bite of his plate and made a satisfied face.

“This is really good, you are a good cook Rainbow.” He looked at me with a soft smile.

“Thank you, I’ve been cooking since I was young and I’ve learned many techniques since I live alone.” I also took a bite of the food. 

“Why did you decide to live alone?” Kang Dae curiously asked.

“I moved out of my house when I went to college abroad and then came back to live alone.”

“Oh, why is that? Does your family live here too?”

“Yes, they live here in Bramville, and why I decided to leave. Well…my Papa is kind of annoying.” 

“Really? You can tell me the reason, only if you want of course.”

“Well, since I’m an omega he is always nagging about when I am going to mate with someone and have kids. He’s got like the biggest case of grandkids fever.”

“Oh, I see. If you don’t mind me asking. Why are you single? You are gorgeous, kind and have a great personality.”

“I’ve had many relationships but they always ended up bad.”

We continued to get to know each other, asking each other questions about things we were curious about. Kang Dae told me how he decided to come to Bramville, he told me how he was looking for a job and then he saw the free position they were looking for at the police station, and since he had worked as an officer before he didn’t hesitate to apply. He said something about wanting a change of scenery, to leave the city behind, and live a quiet life in a small town and Bramville was the perfect place. Time passed and it was getting late, Kang Dae had to work tomorrow so I walked him to the door to send him away.

“The food was really good, thank you for the invitation, Rainbow.” Kang Dae said smiling and I smiled back at him.

“I’m glad you liked it, it was fun cooking with you.” I softly smiled looking into his eyes, I was really curious about his scar, but I’ll have to ask him another time. “I hope we can do it again some other time.”

“I guess it’s my turn to take the initiative.” Kang Dae flirtatiously said with a soft smile on his lips while looking into my eyes. “Would you like to go out on a date with me?”

‘Yes. Say yes. Quick.’ Vivi screamed excitedly.

“Yes. Absolutely, I would love to.”
