In the heart of the grand hall, the man led Lucia, his hand gently holding hers, to the center of the floor. Surrounding them, other couples swayed gracefully to the rhythm of the music.
He stopped and turned to face her, his green eyes sparkling with allure. He moved closer to her, his arm wrapping around her waist, pulling her gently against him. She gasped softly, feeling his warm breath on her face. He said, "Just follow my lead. Don't be nervous."
She looked up at him, her mouth slightly open, her lips rosy and inviting. His eyes moved over them, before finding its way back to her eyes.
He smiled and took her other hand in his, lifting it to his shoulder. He began to move with the music, guiding her with his body. She followed him, feeling his strength. He spun her around, making her dress swirl like a flower. He dipped her low, making her heart flutter. He brought her back up, making her dizzy with delight.
They moved like they were one, in perfect harmony with each other and the music. They looked into each other's eyes, feeling a connection that transcended words. They forgot about the others around them, lost in their own world.
But then, Lucia made a wrong move. She stepped on his foot, making him wince. She apologized profusely, feeling mortified. He paused and said, "Relax and don't think too much. Just let the music work its magic."
Lucia nodded and said, "Okay." He resumed the dance, as if nothing had happened. He smiled reassuringly and said, "Don't worry. You're doing great."
He drew her closer to him. He whispered in her ear, "You're a wonderful dancer."
Her lips arched up in a lovely smile as she looked up at him. She said, "Thank you. You're not so bad yourself."
He said, "Is that right?" and Lucia's eyes sparkled like diamonds, reflecting his image in their depths. Their bodies moved in sync with the music, feeling its pulse and melody. They danced until the music stopped, there was a monent of silence in the hall, and then a loud cheer erupted from the crowd, startling Lucia. They looked around and saw the crowd gathered around them, clapping and whistling.
Lucia felt a bit of embarrassment. When did they become the center of attention? The man looked back at Lucia and said, "It seems the audience was pleased with our performance."
He faced the crowd and gave a courteous bow, acknowledging their applause. Lucia followed his lead, feeling awkward. They straightened up and he turned to Lucia again. He said, "I hope you have a lovely evening." He sounded like he was about to leave.
Lucia hesitated, watching his broad shoulders turn away from her. She said, "Where are you going?"
He paused and looked back at her, his green eyes curious. He said, "Do you need anything else?"
Lucia looked back at him. She said, "Well, I don't really know anyone else here, apart from my friend who is somewhere in this crowd, having a good time with some stranger."
He raised an eyebrow and asked, "And you also want to have a good time with a stranger, is that it?"
She felt her ears turn red as she heard his teasing tone. She stuttered, "No, no, that's not it."
Seeing her face starting to turn red he asked, "Is anything wrong?"
She replied, "Yes, I think I need some fresh air."
The man extended his hand. "Allow me to escort you then." He offered her his hand, which was strong and calloused. She bit her lip as she weighed her options and decided that the presence of this courteous gentleman would provide her with a much-needed escape. She placed her hand in his.
A voice in her head scolded her, "Omg, Lucia, you're moving hand in hand with a man you've only interacted with once. Is this what hanging too much with Rose can do? Take deep breaths and calm down." She tried to ignore the voice, but it was persistent. She felt nervous.
She asked him, "Where are you taking me?"
He said, "Somewhere quiet and away from all this."
He led her towards a staircase, and they walked up to the second floor. He guided her through a corridor, where the walls were decorated with paintings and tapestries. He stopped at a door and opened it, revealing a large balcony.
The balcony was beautifully decorated, with flowers and lights creating a serene atmosphere. The moonlight shone on the marble floor, making it sparkle. The night breeze caressed their faces, bringing a fresh scent.
