“Don’t forget that you have an exam next class,” Professor Laufer said, standing in front of me and addressing the class. He knocked his knuckles on the table I sat at with Clayton and nodded to the class like he always did right before we left.
When other students began flooding out of the lecture hall, I spotted Mikayla and Jada at the door and shoved some books into my backpack. Clayton glanced over at me nervously, adjusting his glasses.
He was a sweet kid, probably at the top of the class. Since I sat next to him in the beginning of the year, he had been acing every single quiz and exam that Professor Laufer had given us.
“Have you started studying yet?” Clayton asked me.
“No.” I shoved my books into my backpack. “I’ve been… busy.”
“Party on Saturday night?” he asked with a small laugh.
I finished stuffing my books into my bag. “Something like that.”
More like getting fucked by apparently a huge sex demon from Hell, but a party works too.
“If you wanna study together, I’ll be in the library,” he said. “Carltor Hall. Top floor.”
“Thanks, Clayton,” I said.
As he walked away nervously, I swung my backpack over my shoulder and glanced up at Professor Laufer who was packing up his things at the front table, talking with a couple students and looking at me.
My cheeks warmed, and I smiled at him, feeling… the same way I had with Acaros.
It was the same sultry stare, the same mischievousness behind his smirk.
“See you later, Professor,” I said, slipping out of the room.
“So?” Mikayla exclaimed immediately, shaking her head and impatiently waiting for me to talk about every little thing that happened last night. She wrapped her hands around my upper arm and shook. “What happened with that demon?! Don’t keep us waiting.”
I shrugged my shoulders. “We just hung out.”
“We want the details!” Mikayla said, pulling me to Smoothie Queen.
Jada arched her brow. “Mikayla wants the details.”
When we reached the smoothie shop, we shuffled in line and ordered.
“I am not the only one!” Mikayla crossed her arms. “We’ve been making predictions all night about what he did with you. He was soooo much hotter than we expected him to be, and he’s huuuuuge!”
Again, Jada snickered. “We saw that thing swinging last night…”
“He’s thick too,” Mikayla said. “Your vagina must be aching.”
My lips curled into a small smirk. “My vagina is doing fine. Don’t worry.”
“God, he’s like seven feet tall,” Jada commented.
“Almost nine with his horns.”
“His horns?!” Mikayla exclaimed, smacking her hand over her heart. “I can’t!”
I glanced over at her to see those curls half-covering her over-dramatic expression. “I am so glad that I could summon some magic for you on Halloween. No need to thank me for that huge–”
Jada elbowed her. “We need to get her a man before she combusts from excitement.”
After picking up my smoothie from the counter, I slurped it and followed them to the exit of the building to the bus stop. Jada pushed some black hair out of her face from the searing wind and brought her drink to her lips.
“There has to be others at our school, right?” Jada asked, glancing at Mikayla.
She sipped on her strawberry banana smoothie. “I don’t know.”
“Can’t you sense them?” I asked.
“Who do you think I am?” she exclaimed.
“Well…” Jada cleared her throat. “Apparently some powerful witch who demons fear.”
Mikayla giggled. “Who told you that? Was it that guy you were flirting with last night?”
“You did!” Jada said.
Mikayla widened her eyes. “I did?”
Jada looked blankly at her. “What kind of shit is she on?”
“Apparently the good kind,” I hummed, making the same joke that she had made Halloween night. I looped my thumbs around the straps of my backpack and continued toward the bus stop. “So you don’t know if there are others?”
“Demons?” Mikayla asked. “Not sure. But I’d bet there are, especially your professor.”
“My professor?”
Mikayla grinned. “We saw the way he was staring at you.”
“He was not.”
Jada looped her arm around mine. “He totally was.”
Mikayla mirrored her and looped her arm around my other arm. “You think he’ll make your man jealous?”
“First of all, Acaros is not my man.” I chewed on my inner cheek as jealousy pooled inside me. I balled my hands into fists. “I think he had a woman over this morning. A woman’s shouting woke me up.”
“You know what that means,” Jada hummed, resting her head on my shoulder as we reached the bus stop. A line formed to ride the bus home. “You should make him jealous, like you did last night with that guy.”
“I don’t think that’s smart.”
“Who cares about smart!” Mikayla said. “We want to make him jealous.”
I arched a brow, warmth spreading through my body at how possessive he had become at The Lounge last night whenever that guy was talking to me. Ya girl was the complete opposite of petite, and that demon had nearly been twice my size. But Acaros tossed him like he weighed nothing to him.
The bus pulled to the corner, and I pulled out my student ID. After following the line up onto the bus, I tapped my student ID on the card reader and found an open seat toward the middle. Jada sat beside me and Mikayla slouched behind us, leaning over our chair.
“You think I should make him jealous?” I asked.
“Hell yes!” Mikayla said, her red hair bouncing all over the place as the bus hit a pothole.
“And how do you think I should do that?”
Jada smirked. “First, don’t go see him tonight.”
Mikayla giggled wildly. “And second… let’s summon more sex demons tonight.”
My eyes widened slightly. The thought of seeing Acaros a jealous and possessive mess because of this… because of me… made me warm in places that it shouldn’t. I pressed my thighs together. What would Acaros do?
“Teasing a sex demon doesn’t sound like a good idea.” I smirked. “I’m in.”
A/N Are you excited for the next chapter 😉 How do you think Acaros will react when he finds out she's summoned another demon?!
