Acaros
I leaned against my bedroom door frame, cock twitching inside my pants. Light flooded in through the windows.
With the blankets wrapped around her body, Iza slept in my Alaskan-king sized bed. While the mattress was just big enough for me in my demon form, the bed seemed to almost swallow Iza whole.
After sipping my cup of tea, I slipped out into the hallway and shut the door behind me.
Someone knocked on my front door, and I pulled the door open to see Qina standing in the hallway with her eyes a blazing red mixed with green envy and her arms crossed over her chest. “I heard that–”
Before she could say another word, I swung the door closed in her face.
What the fuck is she doing here? She knows not to show up to my place in Lust.
And I had never once told her about my highrise in the city. She must’ve followed me or asked around The Lounge last night about where I had brought Iza. Hell… I didn’t even remember seeing her there last night either.
“Acaros!” she shouted, banging louder on my door. “Open up!”
I glared at the door, my nails lengthening into claws and my nostrils flaring.
If she doesn’t stop this shit, she’ll wake Iza.
Another bang, and I swung the door open. “What the fuck are you doing here?”
“You brought another girl home. That’s what–”
My hand snapped around her throat. I stepped out of my highrise, shut the door behind me, and slammed her into the wall across from the door. “We’re not a couple. We’re not dating. I don’t even fucking like you.”
“Don’t be like that, Ac–”
“Who sent you?” I asked between gritted teeth.
“Nobody,” she said, squirming in my hold.
I tightened my grip so she couldn’t move. “How’d you find my place?”
Her gaze tinted green. “An Envy can always find her way.”
“You’re half-envy, half-succubus,” I said, a growl clawing up the back of my throat. “You don’t have that much power in either realm. So I’m going to ask you again, Qina. Who sent you and how’d you find out where I live?”
She pressed her lips together. “Why is there a human in your bed?”
“That’s none of your fucking business.”
“If I can’t get it out of you, then I’ll get it out of her.”
“You touch a hair on her head, and I will suck the soul from your body.” I hurled her toward the elevators and wiped my hand on my sweatpants, heading back toward my highrise. “Don’t fucking test me.”
After walking back into my place and slamming the door, I picked up the tea cup on the counter and sipped my hot drink, a low growl rumbling through me. Someone had given her my address and sent her to find me.
To pester me.
It could’ve been fucking anyone at The Lounge last night.
Like Amon. Or that flirty bartender. Or one of my best fucking friends.
A moment later, I listened as one set of feet padded out into the living room.
I gripped the teacup harder, vowing to figure out who it was once she left, and twisted my head around to see Iza walking toward me, dressed in one of my shirts that fell down past her knees and her hair a wild mess.
She looked down at my cup of tea and then giggled behind her hand.
“What?” I asked.
“Nothing,” she said, though she didn’t stop laughing.
I grabbed another teacup from the set. “Do you want some?”
“That’s not it, but…” She quieted her giggles. “I’ll have some.”
After I poured her tea, I extended my arm for her to take the glass. When she reached for it, I pulled it a couple inches away. “First, tell me why you’re laughing. Did I do something to make you laugh?”
For two reasons…
One, because humans were strange creatures. I thought I had them all figured out, but sometimes one–this one–surprised me by laughing at my tea. And two, because I wanted her to laugh again. I liked the sound.
“It’s just that your tea-cup doesn’t fit the whole scary demon vibe.”
“You’re laughing at the size of my tea cup?” I hummed, handing her the cup.
“More like the fact that you even own tea cups.” She brought the cup to her lips, paused, and sniffed it. “Wait. Does this have that weird lust potion, cum stuff inside it?” She pulled her lips away. “Because I can’t do that so early in the morning.”
My lips curled into a small smile, warmth spreading through my chest. “No.”
What is this feeling? This warmth?
After shooting me a I don’t know how much I believe you look, she sipped the drink and walked over to the large windows that overlooked the city. I followed behind her, desperately wanting my hands all over her body again.
And again. And again. And again.
But I resisted the sweet, sweet temptation.
“I never thought I’d see the city from a view this beautiful,” she whispered.
“Wait until you see my place in Lust.”
She glanced over her shoulder at me. “What’s Lust?”
“Lust is the kingdom in Hell where sex demons like me live…” … though it was never my intention to mention her, nevermind telling her that I wanted to bring her there. But the effect of this woman was stronger than any kind of Lust drug I’d ever taken.
An alarm rang from the phone in her purse that sat on the counter.
She furrowed her brows for a moment, then widened her eyes and slammed the boiling hot glass of tea into my chest, making a break for the door. “Oh my God. I’m going to be late for class.” She swooped up her purse and twirled around, stumbling back to the door. “Thanks for the tea and for the, uh… dick!”
I leaned back against the window with her tea running down my bare abdomen and watched her slam the door closed. Her scent lingered all over the apartment, her lust drifting through my nose.
While I wanted her to stay, I don’t think I would’ve had the control to hold myself back from pressing her up against the window and ravishing her for the rest of eternity. And I had to hold myself back.
Because I had work to do. People to find. And demons to kill.
All for Iza.
