One day when the others weren't training, we decided to just have some fun together, like normal friends would. The guardians were showing off some of their special skills, either with their magic or their natural talents. That was when Hikki unexpectedly spilled to them about my Ribbon dancing. Of course he would do something like that! And it went like this........
"Hey guys did you know? Sakura can Ribbon dance!" Hikki proudly declared.
"Hikki!" I hissed, while trying to hide my embarrassment.
"Oh? Is that so?" Raiden questioned, while looking to me with interest. I couldn't help but look away.
"Oh yeah! I've seen her do it, she's totally great!" Hikki expressed excitedly.
Yuto folded his arms. "What do you mean you've seen her?" He asked while raising an eyebrow at Hikki.
Hikki rubbed the back of his head. "Hehe... Well I kinda sorta...watched her practice." This made Yuto glare at him harder. The others began to stare at him a little too.
"I wasn't trying to spy! Really!" Hikki assured. "I just..." Before he could say anymore, I suddenly cut him off by putting my hand over his mouth.
"Sorry, Hikki doesn't know what he's taking about! I'm sure he was just mistaking me for someone else." I laughed nervously.
"Sakura, can you really ribbon dance?" Aimi inquired with interest. I guess I couldn't really fool them and besides it wouldn't hurt to tell them about it.
"Well... maybe... kinda?" I answered slowly.
"I would like to see it." She expressed.
My eyes widened with surprise. "What?"
Hikki gently pulled my hand off his mouth. "Yeah Foxy girl! Show the guys what you can do!" He encouraged.
I shook my head nervously. "N..N..No... I couldn't possibly." I stuttered.
"Why? What are you so afraid of?" Matsuo questioned.
"It's just, I've never actually performed in front on an audience before." I whispered shyly, while looking down.
"I understand how you feel, but isn't it wonderful opportunity to share and express your talent to others?" Aimi comforted. "Plus, that way you can gain even more confidence and belief in yourself."
"Yeah. Even if you do slip up a little, we won't criticise you." Kira noted. Then they all nodded and smiled at me.
"I dunno...." I mumbled. Their kindness made me want to consider doing it. But the feelings of uneasiness made my tummy churn like a washing machine.
"I like to dance myself. You already know I can ice skate, but I love to fan dance too." Aimi revealed proudly. "If you show us a little of what you can do, then I'll show you what I can do." She appealed.
My ears perked up. "Really?" I asked with wonder. She nodded in response.
I really wanted to see Aimi's fan dancing. If she was willing to dance just to see mine, then surely it was the least I could for her and the others. Besides, they were the kind of people who wouldn't judge someone and were very kind and supportive.
"Well okay...I suppose I could." Then I blinked with realisation. "But I don't even have my ribbon wand with me! I can't really ribbon dance without it." I admitted.
"Err... she's got a point." Hikki realised.
Aimi thought for a moment. "Hmm....hang on, I have an idea!"
Then to my surprise, she took out a hairpin of her long white hair and tied a long, pretty hair ribbon around it.
"Will this work?" She asked hopefully, as she handed it to me.
I took it in my hands and stared at it for a moment. I felt so touched by her thoughtfulness. "Yes this is perfect! Thank you!"
I couldn't refuse to do it now. Aimi made a hand-made ribbon wand out of her possessions, just so she could watch me perform. So now I wanted to perform for them. "Alright I'll do it, for all of you." The others all grinned in excitement.
I then moved to the middle of the room, to get into position. "Just give me a moment, it's a little hard for me to get into the mood without any music." I told them.
"FRET NOT LITTLE VIXEN!" Asahi suddenly stepped forward. "I shall provide the perfect music for you!" He flamboyantly declared, as he randomly pulled out a violin from nowhere.
"Where'd you get that from?" I wondered with surprise.
"A musician must always come prepared, my dear." he winked. "Now whenever your ready, just let the music carry you." Then he immediately started to play it. I gazed in amazement, before taking a deep breath.
I grasped my temporary ribbon wand and got into a starting pose. I shut my eyes and listened to Asahi's melody. As I heard the soft strings of the violin, I let my mind sway along with it, like a willow tree in a gentle breeze. When I felt the moment was right, I let the rhythm move my body.
I leapt up and twirled around, as I let my whole self flow with the beautiful music. The world around me seemed to melt away. It was like I had been pulled into a trance and my very soul was swept up and carried away. I could feel the magic in the air as I danced.
As I moved more quickly, I heard the music getting faster and more lively. It was impressive that Asahi managed to keep up with me, without even breaking a sweat. That made me want to move even more. It was like the feeling you get when you're having an exciting livid dream. I just didn't want to stop.
As soon as I struck my finishing pose, Asahi ended the music on a powerful finishing note. I panted in satisfaction, I was so glad I didn't make any mistakes. It was probably because I felt in the zone and surrounded by supportive friends. When I realised it was over, I turned to see everyone staring at me with blank expressions. I couldn't tell what they were thinking, did they not like it? I was just about to say something, when all at once they started clapping and cheering for me. I blinked a couple of times.
"Was I good?" I questioned.
"Good? You were amazing!" Souta approved.
"I think so too." Kuro added with a smile.
"Oh my stars! You were truly magnificent Little Vixen!" Asahi chorused. "I almost lost concentration on my music, since I couldn't stop looking at you!"
"I agree! I don't think any of us could take our eyes of that!" Kira complimented.
"You said it! That was some pretty impressive dancing!" Matsuo congratulated as he gave me a thumbs up.
"That was truly wonderful Cherry Blossom!" Misa glorified.
"Yeah! You were incredible!" Chiyu cheered.
"You delivered a brilliant display indeed!" Enyo nodded, as he pushed up his glasses.
"That was a beautiful performance Sakura." Raiden blessed.
"I admit. That was really good." Yuto revealed.
"See?! I told you guys she was awesome!" Hikki beamed.
I had never receive so much positive feedback on my ribbon dancing alone, even Yuto gave a small one. I blushed beet red.
"Thank you so much for showing us your talents Sakura." Aimi praised as she came forward.
"Oh it was nothing and thank you for letting me borrow this." I handed her back the hair pin and ribbon, but she pushed them back towards me.
"You can keep it." She smiled."I already have plenty of them, consider it a little present for such a wonderful performance."
I blushed again. "Well..... thank you!" I felt so grateful.
"Now as promised, I will show you mine." Aimi smiled. She then took out two fans and got in place to dance.
"Stand back, you're about to see something real fascinating." Hikki told me with a smirk. Anticipation bubbled up inside of me.
Of course Asahi was happy to provide music for Aimi aswell. He winked to her and she nodded, indicating he knew exactly what to play for her. As soon as Asahi started the music, Aimi began to move. When she started dancing, it was like I was being hypnotised. I was mesmerised by the way she danced. Asahi's music was a little more graceful than the livelier one he played for me, but the tempo remain the same. It was like the kind of music for a gentle but exciting snowfall.
She skilfully waved her arms along with the fans in her hands. She moved perfectly in time with the music, her movements were so smooth. It was like watching a drawing coming to life. From the professional way she did it, I assumed as though she had been practicing her whole life.
Then to my amazement, she froze the floor and started gliding across it. She had literally turned it into an ice rink. She moved just a like a swan on a lake, she had the gracefulness and elegance of a true dancer. Next she had snowflakes coming off of her. The way her long, snow white hair swayed with her, as she moved with finesse and passion. She was like one of those Japanese geishas, only much more magical and beautiful. Lastly, she threw both her fans above her, jumped up and turned into a swan mid air. She flew up as more snowflakes flurried down from her wings, before unleashing a burst of sparkling white snow, like a firework made of ice. It was truly a breathtaking spectacle.
She poofed back to a human, as she landed back down gracefully. Then she caught the fans in her hands perfectly. Lastly, she struck her strong finishing pose with the snowflake fluttering around her.
The moment she stopped, we all cheered and clapped loudly for her, especially me. After watching her performance, I suddenly felt even more inspired to dance.
"Wow Aimi! You were spectacular! I've never seen dancing like that before!" I glorified.
Aimi giggled. "Thank you. I don't think anybody has witnessed dancing like mine before. But it makes me so happy to see other people enjoy my performances."
"There's nothing quite as as spell binding as Aimi's snow dance." Souta complimented.
"She was beautiful as always." Kuro sighed. I noticed from the way Kuro looked at her, I believed he had feelings for her. How cute! Well I guess I can't really blame him, she was very beautiful and kind, plus her dancing was something to behold. Her powers weren't just a magic bonus, her skills alone would enthrall anyone.
"I loved the way you used your powers with your dancing!" I praised. "It was incredible!"
"I appreciate your kind words Sakura." Aimi replied gratefully. "Both power and passion can be expressed with our bodies and emotions. And I bet you could do something like that with your dancing too." She told me.
My eye lit up with wonder. "You really think so?!" I chirped.
Aimi smiled. "I'm certain of it. Tell you what, how about we practice our dancing together sometime? Then I can show you how to do it."
I gasped. "Yes please that would be great!" If she was truly right, then maybe I could maybe use my powers with my dancing too. I couldn't wait to learn and once I had the time, I would try it out for myself.
