After a few more extreme seconds, he abruptly screeched to a halt.
"We're here." he chirped joyfully. I immediately let go of him the second he stopped moving. I jumped down, careful not to throw myself off balance. He remained mellow whereas I was shaken up. I stood there shaking like a leaf, that was quite an intense experience for me. Once I had properly recovered, I smoothed my hair down before looking up. That was when I gasped in awe.
There before me, stood a magnificent, majestic shrine. It resembled a typical Japanese temple. The structure looked slightly ancient yet it stood solid and firm. The shape was elegant and refined. It's colours were green, golden and orange. The doors had the shape of a shield on it and inside of the shield was a twelve pointed star. I took a few steps back and craned my neck up to get a good view it all. I was absolutely amazed. This was it! This was the very shrine that I saw in my dream. It was truly breathtaking.
I continued marvelling at it. "Wow." I breathed. "Its here! I mean it's really here! It's so beautiful!"
Hikki barked a laugh. "Oh no, you ain't seen nothing yet."
"What?" I turned to him with a questionable expression. "What exactly are you saying?"
"This ain't your regular old shrine, you see there's more to it than meets the eye." He said in a sly tone.
"What do you mean by that?" I questioned.
"Just you wait-and-see." he winked. He motioned to me with his hand to follow him up the steps. He gleefully hopped up, whereas I just stepped up them carefully. I felt like an outsider setting foot here, so I wanted to be extra careful.
He knocked on the doors and then stepped back to stand beside me. Next the doors slowly began to open, exactly how they did in my dream.
A blinding golden light shone through. I had to shield my eyes from the intense brightness, it was almost as brilliant as the sun. Then I felt Hikki push me inside. When I lowered my hand, my jaw immediately dropped to the floor. The insides were paved with shining golden walls. There there large pillars, enormous hallways and a gigantic staircase right in the middle of the foyer. It resembled the inside of a mansion. The floors had mosaic like tiles. The ceilings and pillars were studded with multi colours gemstones. I could also see star shapes printed everywhere I looked. It was like I was standing inside of a pirate treasure chest. I was speechless, it looked like something out of a fairytale. But the most shocking thing of all, was that the inside appeared to be ten times bigger than the size of the outside structure. It was as if I had stepped into an alternate reality, I felt like I was going to faint.
"What I tell ya?!" Hikki laughed.
"Am I crazy? Or is this place bigger on the inside?" I asked while feeling overwhelmed.
"You better believe it Foxy girl!" He chirped while zipping around like a shooting star. "Do you think it's awesome or what!?" His voice echoed throughout the magnificent halls. I don't think I had never met anyone quite as enthusiastic or excited as Hikki.
"Quick! Pinch me!" I pleaded him. "I want to make sure that I'm not dreaming!"
Before I knew it, I felt him pinch the skin on my arm quite forcefully. "OW! Not so hard!" I snapped while rubbing my arm.
"Sorry, you did say to pinch you. But no, you're definitely not dreaming." He smiled. Next he raised his hand to his mouth and yelled out.
"Hey Guys! Ya here? I'm back!" He hovered around from one place to another, like a busy bee. "You'll never guess what I just found!"
"HIKARU!" A stern voice shouted. We both turned to see the source of the voice. In front of us was young man (around twenty years old) with blue hair and eyes. He looked smart probably because he was wearing glasses. He was staring at Hikki with an irritated look on his face.
"How many times have I told you?! Wipe your feet before you set foot in here!" He scolded. "If you're not gonna wear anything on your feet, then you've got to keep them clean!"
I noticed that Hikaru made a few muddy footprints on the floor. "Oops, sorry Enyo. But you know I don't do shoes or anything like that." He replied. I wondered why Hikki didn't have anything on his feet, he probably just didn't like wearing anything on them.
"Honestly, why do I always have to be the one to clean up around here?!" He complained. Then to my amazement, the guy raised his hands and huge drops of water appeared in the air. With a flick of his arms, he swished them across the floor, wiping away the footprints Hikki left. When they were all gone, he made the water disappear into nothing.
"Now, what is it that you..." he paused as he finally took notice of me. I was just standing there, unsure of how to react. He blinked a couple of times before speaking up.
"Who is this girl?" He queried. "What is she doing here?" I suddenly felt anxious.
"Oh! Yeah! This is Sakura!" Hikki put his hands on both my shoulders. "I want you to meet her! Sakura, this is Enyo! He's a bit of a stick in the mud, but he's cool!"
"Uh hi." I waved nervously.
"Hikaru! You can't just bring strangers back here!" He asserted. "Are you out of your mind?!"
"Relax dude, she already knows about the celestial guardians and this place." He reassured.
"What?! You told her?!" He burst out.
"It's okay! She's one of us! Look she has the mark." He grinned as he showed my arm to him. "See?"
Enyo adjusted his glasses and inspected my mark closely. I nervously waited for his response. His eyes widened in amazement. "My word, that is indeed a constellation mark! But how is this possible?! Only Celestial Guardians have marks like that!" He declared.
"What's going on here?" A new voice arose. The three of us looked to see a girl with short, curly, dark cream coloured hair and emerald green eyes. She looked about the same age as Enyo and she wore glasses too. Her face had a certain gentleness to it.
"I heard Enyo yelling, so I came to see if everything was....." She started before catching a glimpse of me.
"Oh my gosh! I didn't know we were expecting any visitors! Hi I'm Misa and you are?..." she asked eagerly. I was surprised by her sudden friendliness, but nevertheless I answered her. "Err...Sakura."
"Wow like cherry blossom! How lovely!" She cooed. I blushed at the compliment.
"Hold on Misa! We're in the middle of something important right now!" Enyo stated.
"What do you mean Enyo? She queried.
"Oh yeah Misa! I met this girl out in the forest and she's just like us! I've even seen her transform and everything!" Hikki stated cheerfully.
"WHAT?!" Enyo and Misa both exclaimed at once. It startled me a little.
"Hikki are you serious?!" Misa enquired in astonishment.
"Yep! It's true!" Hikki added in a singsong voice.
"Please show us immediately!" Enyo begged me.
"Yes please do!" Misa also pleaded.
I was a little unsure of what to do. "Uh...well...I ..."
But before I could do anything, I heard yet another voice. Only this time it was a charming laugh. "Nufufufufufu! Well, well...what do we have here?" A smooth charming voice expressed from behind us. I looked round and my eye's widenened from what I saw. A very handsome young man stood there marvelling at us, though mostly me.
"Do my eyes deceive me? Or has Hikki brought home a cute young lady for us to behold?! You must introduce me immediately!" He proudly declared.
"Oh hey Asahi...." Hikki smiled awkwardly. "This is Sakura, she..." But before he could finish his sentence, he was pushed aside by the guy who approached me avidly.
"Well hello there." He spoke looking me straight in the eyes. I was instantly stunned by his presence. He so was drop dead gorgeous. His skin looked as smooth as silk, his long shiny green hair swayed like river grass in the sun. His eyes sparked like yelllow diamonds and he also wore a fedora hat. His beauty was almost too immense.
"Sorry if my overwhelming charm has captivated you." He sounded flamboyant yet so eloquent. "I am Asahi, a pleasure to meet you young maiden." He expressed as he took my hand in his. "And my, what a pretty little thing you are." He said attractively, before kissing the top of it. I blushed intensely, I felt my face heating up like a tea kettle. Just then, the attractive charmer was yanked away by the collar, with a big strong hand.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!" A deep voice boomed.
