KANG DAE

Arriving at the police station on my first day of work a woman greeted me, she was wearing flashy and colorful clothes, a blouse that perfectly showed her cleavage and a tight skirt that toned her wide hips, by her scent and collar that covered her neck, I knew she was an omega. Her light blue eyes looked at me with curiosity. 

“Good morning, are you perhaps the new officer?” She asked me, her voice was soft but high pitched. 

“Yes, my name is Kang Dae Kim.” I softly smiled at her and I noted a soft blush formed on her cheeks. 

“A pleasure to meet you, Officer Kim. My name is Tilly Sullivan, I’m the secretary here. You can ask me anything you want, and if you need something in particular don’t hesitate to ask me.” She smiled widely and by the tone of her voice, I knew she was trying to flirt with me as she leaned in showing more of her cleavage and letting some of her pheromones out—a rabbit. Of course. I could tell by her blood’s scent. “Here, you can have my number too.” She wrote something on a piece of paper and as she was handing it to me someone interrupted her.

“Tilly. Stop bothering our new officer, you are going to scare him away.” A man walked out of a door that was right behind Tilly’s desk. “Officer Kim, it’s good that you are here. Come with me, I’ll introduce you to the team.”

“Yes sir,” I answered and nodded to Tilly before following him as he walked inside the door again.

I knew who he was, Khalid McNeil, he was the chief of Bramville’s police station, the one that interviewed me and gave me the job. I took in his blood’s scent, another supernatural, a werewolf and a beta. 

We walked into a spacious office, walls covered by lockers where I assumed files were stored, and doors that led to four different places: a break room, a meeting room, a bathroom, and the chief’s office, I was surprised about the free space of the room since it only had three desks, one of them was empty and I assumed that was supposed to be mine, while the others were full of papers, an officer sitting in each. I knew Bramville had low percentages of delinquency but I didn’t think the team was only going to be four people; including me and the chief. The chief cleared his throat and both of the presents in the room looked up at us. 

“This is Kang Dae Kim. As of today, he will be joining our team.” McNeil said and then he looked at me, before pointing at each officer. “That’s Loui Powell and Lorenzo Dominguez, they will be your teammates, if you have any questions you can ask them. You can take the empty desk.” I nodded and then saw as he walked into his office leaving us alone. 

“Officer Kim, nice to meet you.” Loui approached me and extended his hand to me giving me a friendly handshake. “I look forward to working with you.” Another supernatural, a feline this time, a panther. 

“Same as Powell said.” The other officer said sitting on his desk, eyes fixed on his paperwork. A human. What a peculiar team they were. 

“I look forward to working with you two as well,” I said and then walked to my desk, I glanced at Loui’s and noticed a picture of him with a woman and two kids. 

“That’s my wife Roxanne and my boys, Miles and Marlon. They are 7 years old.” Loui said when he noticed my gaze was fixed on the picture frame. “You are single, right? Better be careful with Tilly, she’s always trying to flirt with the single ones.” I chuckled at his words and nodded, sitting on my empty desk. 

When I asked them to fill me in on Bramville’s situation, Loui told me about the cases they were working on, even though the crime rate in town was low they had a strong case a few months back. They had managed to find an illegal human/supernatural trafficking network on the outskirts of town. Listening to what they were telling me, I realized that the time frame matched the time I had come to look for my master’s merman and I knew it was not a coincidence. 

“Can I see the reports?” I curiously asked them and Lorenzo got up from his seat, walked to some metal lockers that were on the side of the office, and then took out the files, he brought them to my desk, placing them on top. 

“This is all of it, you have to check them out anyways. We are trying to find more of them.” He said before sitting back down at his desk and getting lost in the paperwork. 

As I checked all the files and reports about the case I knew it was the starting point, it had the same address I had gone to back when I had to retrieve that merman. After having a short meal I had prepared for lunchtime, I checked the names of the people involved in the case, it was clear to me that three people could not go against all the security that was there that day.

‘Bramville’s wolf pack helped to take down the trafficking network, they were looking for someone that had been kidnapped and the GPS device carried by the victim led them to that place.’ 

‘Hmm…interesting.’ I thought as I finished reading, the report didn’t have the name of the kidnapped person. It could have been anyone, but it had to be someone important if they took all the effort to get them back. 

“Kang Dae, work time is over. Time to go back home.” Loui’s voice broke me from my thoughts I checked the time: 4 PM, it was still early but he was right.

The chief had told me about the peculiar working hours they had on Mondays, something about not having all the energy to work on those days and who would want to commit crimes on such an awful dull day of the week. After gathering my belongings and saying goodbye to my teammates and Tilly, I walked home still processing what I had read in the files, I was so lost in thought that I didn’t notice where I was walking, causing someone to bump into my chest, I looked down and saw a black head with orange tips.

“I’m so sorry, I was looking at my phone and I didn’t notice where I was walk…ing…” A soft and high-pitched voice said, the stranger moved back and then our eyes met, I was hypnotized by his beauty. 

His eyes were green, in them, there was a special shine, fair skin, a turned-up little nose, and fragile lips that asked to be bitten until they turned red and swollen, I noticed he was wearing a gold-pink collar around his neck, an omega. I tried to smell his blood but I didn’t catch what he was, only sweetness hit my nose, like the sweet rice cakes I loved to make.

“No problem, I was also distracted,” I answered with a smile and looked at him from top to bottom, taking in all his beauty. He was about 5’4 and I didn’t know if it was due to his tight clothes or if his body was that curvy. 

“Then no problem.” He awkwardly laughed, he was tense and his heartbeat was somewhat rushed. “Well…I have to go, goodbye.” 

He turned on his feet and walked the way he had come from, I was curious about the reason he was so nervous but my mind went blank when I saw the view he offered me as he walked away. He had a really lovely round-shaped butt and those tight shorts he was wearing made it look even more prominent. ‘I want to spank him.’

I shook my head coming back to my senses, I didn’t understand why I was having those kinds of thoughts with someone I didn’t even know, not even with Tilly when she was swinging around her cleavage trying to seduce me. I had never felt this way with someone before, the attraction I felt for that omega was new to me, but I’d heard of this before…

Vivi was trying to take control over my body, he had gone crazy when we bumped into that man’s chest and I knew why. It was him, our mate, he was the owner of that amazing scent that hit us the other night. I had planned on going to work at the studio but since Vivi went wild I knew working was not going to be easy and as soon as I closed the door of my apartment behind me, it all went down.

‘Why the fuck did you run away?’ Vivi scolded me. ‘I wanted to talk with our mate.’

‘Vivi I was not going to let you take over in front of a stranger so you would rub on him like a cat in heat.’ I sighed and brushed my face with my hands.

‘A stranger?! That was our fated mate.’ He said, emphasizing his last words. ‘And like did you even look at him? Are you blind or something? That man was handsome as fuck, of course, I want to rub all over him like a cat in heat.’

‘I know, I saw him. He was indeed handsome but we don’t know him. We can’t just jump on a stranger like that bestie.’

‘And we missed our chance of meeting him because you ran away like a scaredy cat.’ He hissed at me, I felt the frustration coming from him.

‘I’m sure we will meet him again, don’t worry.’ I reassured him, trying to make him feel better.

‘We better or I’m taking over and hunting him down.’ He said before going quiet again.

I sighed and sat on the sofa, my mind filled with the thought of the man I had just met my fated mate, it felt weird that I found him. I knew it was going to happen someday, but I felt that it was going to be far and almost impossible to meet him. ‘I guess destiny works in mysterious ways.’

His image filled my mind, just like Vivi had said he was handsome. I knew from his slanted eyes that he was Asian, probably Korean, and I wondered about the story behind that scar that went down across his eye. He was tall too, about 6’7, with broad shoulders, and a built body. He wore a uniform I recognized well, he was a police officer so I was confident I would get to see him again. 

I sighed thinking about how it could feel to be in his arms, I would probably pur of happiness if I got covered by them.  He was probably big down there too, slick formed on my entrance at those dirty thoughts. I shook my head, I must be sexually frustrated to think that way about a stranger.

But despite being excited and feeling attracted to that person, my fears had not disappeared. Many insecurities filled my mind, making me put all the dirty thoughts aside.

What if I’m not what he wants? 

What if he’s just like the others?

Or even worse…What if he rejects me for what I am?
