Maybe Someday by Nithan Sage
Chapter 10
Secrets
I was great at keeping secrets.
Ever since I was a kid, I always had less than three friends and no social life. So whatever secrets I was entrusted with would always remain a secret because ... I had no one to tell them to.
But occasionally, I would spill. Not because I wanted to, no. Because somehow others would always figure it out. The crumbs would always lead them to me.
And it would always be her who would see my tells. And she would smile her dimple smile as she would pester me to tell.
And when I would give in to her relentless begging, she would say, “You can never keep a secret from me.”
Well, she didn’t know that I already had a secret that even she didn’t know. One that she could never find out.
