My interest in humans escalated pretty quickly if I have to tell... I'm actually ashamed of it. I... I don't know how the other Demons will look on me... They already look down of me because I am conserving the equipment of the humans who died here. The mask that was covering their beautiful faces... I couldn't help but feel disgust with my horrible... look?
The blood always surrounding my eyes, my... and my empty basins on the skull of a Cat covered with their own blood... there are no ways to tell how I feel, only a voice that was supposed to order others to do things I couldn't do, that was the only voice I was teach to use. But... then I saw the light. A light that resalted from the one that the Red Moon gives us. It was white, a beautiful white that not even the cleanist clothes could mock, but it was coming from the sewers. So then, I started doubting about the meaning of the light, and I got... scared.
I can't explain properly. My mind was filled up with the things I had to do as a Prince, the incountable amount of people, my people, I had to send to the slaughter...
And then, it arrived, "What if I... just leave? Why do I need to stay? For the people? For me? For my family? The only thing I do is bring death and despair when they see my presence."
"And that's the reason I love you." The last Mother alive said, pressing her head against my arm, closing her eyes as she saw the white light. "I'll follow you, to the last floor if that's what you are willing to do, because I know I'll be safe next to your side."
"What could I ever do to save you?, I couldn't save the others whose last breath was my name." I replied while I change to my Prince form in sign of my respect to her.
"We both know..." She continues as she opens her stomach and let go a flying Cat to explore the light so dim. "... that they don't matter."
"I am being stuborn. Don't put importance on what only is a caprice."
"Your caprices are my orders, my Prince."
The days passed, they were all the same. Nobody seemed to notice the white light, it was only her and me. Her... and me.
Everything's ready, a year as passed and the sewers were abandoned. It was a fight between Demons to go explore that zone in search of hidden humans.
The Mother and I started with this idea after six months of the sighting of the light, and now, as the beggining of our escape, we are preparing the supplies to keep us alive in the human world.
What the Cat saw when he entered into the light... was beautiful. A place as white as the light, nothing compared to Hell, it wasn't cold or hot, it was perfect. It was like describing us the paradise itself. But that paradise was more far than we thought as the Second in Charge saw us preparing our supplies.
I was took away from my position, the Mother was sent to a unknown location after trying to save me... The Cats who were in the middle of growth were slaughtered and thrown into the Red Lake, low water that was connected to the sewers.
When the children of the Mother were being slaughtered, she was protecting me, and yet, here I am, being dragged to the dungeon. Then... in a place where not even the Red Moon could invade, I saw it. The white light surrounding my face, touching my empty skull, my body... My worthless, horrible, empty body...
As the light, entering through the holes of the walls, touches me, I let my body melt, the Demons dragging me dropped me by instinct as their hands burned. I stand by myself... and grab one of them by his shoulders... and... I... I killed him by penetrating his face with my skull... The other one tried to escape but I still followed him... and did the same... I... I ran to the sewers and entered into the white light... I left her behind.
Then this human appeared with her children around him, protecting him just like they did with me... I... And what I did to her, I did to him. I left him.
Back at the forest, he needed my help, yet, I did the minimum- No, not even that. I keep saying I like humans, but I feel I still act like a Demon. Humans are supposed to give help to each other when needed, yet I just.. I don't understand... I was scared of being called out by the Son of Kaiman...
I began to start making quick and smart decisions. For the sake of my allies, my Cats, my family.
Dear... It hadn't have passed even a hour since we got in here, and his wounds are already getting contaminated by the air of Hell.
Fuck... I can't stop crying... All of this is my fault... If I never interacted with Fredik, this human would still be alive...
-He would have died back on his land. -The Mother said calmly as she puts her frontal pawns on ground, dragging herself out of the red lake.
-M... Mother...
-This is not your fault, my Prince... I might not be able to cure him like last time, -She continued after giving herself a pause. -I don't think you remember the reason, but... If I keep putting more children inside of him, his soul might get... corrupted.
-As always, Mother, only do what you can.
The human had his eyes wide open, his tongue touching his throat, the armor protecting him seems like it did more damage than good. But that didn't seem to stop Mother.
She starts to open her stomach and Cats ran to the wounds of the human. Some of them ran inside the mouth of the human, ones got lost when entering into the vest.
Now, all we have to do is wait for them to finish healing the human.
As time runs, the scent of death vanishes, after changing my sight to the Mother sleeping near me, to the lake seeing how corpses of humans and Demons are being preys of the lake stream, and for last, I move my eyes to the human which now has the eyes closed. His breathing seems to have improve, though he's been making a sound of sorrow 10 minutes after the Cats made their way in.
Sorrow... He seems to really be in it. Could it be because of the war?
When I was exploring their white forest, I saw a lot of humans, but none of them seem to be happy like some Demons here. My father, before dying, mentioned something about a human trying to bring to life the ruler of our kingdom, no, the ruler of all the kingdoms, including the ruler of the human kingdom, but I don't believe him. I... I always thought it was a fantasy, to be honest. So, could it be the human trying to bring back the ruler is making the others humans unhappy?
-... Would you like to change that?... -A voice said from the darkness of the lake.
-Who... Who are you?
-The name is Nol. Sorry for eavesdropping your thoughts, but once you start using a ilimited power, you feel the urge to use it. -The same grave and calm voice answered.
-It's... okay. My name is Bendyk...
-It is really quite amusing and admirable seeing you protect that human. I'm not proud of it, but I was there when you did it. -He said between chuckles. -Some Demons really must know their places. They think that... They think that just for being above they are the strongest. If I be honest with you, Your Majesty, I have been searching you for quite the time, you may know it, it is really hard for Demons like us walk around others acting like nothing.
-Wh... What did you do...? -I ask, moving the human closer to me. As he answers, I see how from the blood a orange hand touches the edge. A strong and big figure shows itself, still indescribable due to the blood covering it.
