"Covered in Roses, all laid their eyes upon what they knew was a Celestial. One so beautiful it could make you go insane if you stared for too long. With just one glance, you would see the most beautiful person in the world, so much so that you would gladly give, steal, or sacrifice just to give you a morsel of attention. Nothing could counter this being, but it could be managed if you were exposed to just a tiny bit of her at a time. Nevertheless, it could bring out the absolute worst or best in people, and the thought of either was terrifying". The cloaked woman read as she saw Briar slowly awaken and greeted by her companion while the children slept. The woman saw as Briar walked towards her, and she could see that the statements were factual. She was the most beautiful person in the world in her eyes. She was someone she missed dearly and wanted to hold in her arms again after such a long time. She wondered how the person she envisioned her as was right now.
Briar saw the woman set her book down, she couldn't see what she looked like but could tell she was powerful. " Thank you for taking care of me and the children. However, we must be on our way", Briar said sternly as she turned to retrieve her things. The cloaked woman stood and sighed, " I appreciate your gratitude, but I am afraid to say, these services are not free, traveler. And, I do believe you do not have our currency". Briar narrowed her eyes and offered her all she had, even the golden emblem on her cloak, however, they were refused immediately. "I'm sorry, however, due to our policy on foreign artifacts and Celestial unidentified objects, we cannot accept that without consulting the reining monarchs or the second-in-line crowned royal members. And, unfortunately, either pair is not here at the moment." The cloaked woman smirked, as she glanced at Clovis, "However, I have been conversing with that young man for a while and I have taken quite a liking to him. He tells me he is your guide, if he agrees to stay here I can provide you with another guide and you can go, of course, the children will be taken care of as well." Clovis looked shocked as the woman spoke to him as he wasn't even there, however, before he could speak up, Briar interrupted," Unfortunately, we have made a deal. I have promised him something for his services and until then, I cannot be parted from him". Her face was calm but her eyes remained narrow.
The woman sighed, "I don't know, the boy looks quite traumatized from being near you, and if both parties wish for it, the deal can be dissolved. So what do you say, does it really matter who guides you where you need to be, as long as you get there?". Briar felt anxious for a moment, but, before the silence could fully develop, she flipped the tent they were in, the fabric being thrown directly onto the woman with Briar's vines. She quickly used her vines to pick up the children and signaled Clovis to run into the unguarded gate leading into town. However, the idea was quickly discarded as the saint appeared and rushed toward them with an intent not to kill, but to severely injure. Briar stopped and ran to the open sea they were next to. She figured there could be a boat near the bottom, but as she approached the edge, she felt the ground rumble.
The sea twisted and turned, rising and sinking as something came from beyond the depths. Then, something arose towering over the ships. Giant serpents of glittering green and blue scales, teeth of ivory, and eyes like obsidian rose from the water growling at Briar. Briar could only push the children back as she showed her face in all its glory to the monsters above, but, to her dismay, they positioned to attack. As Briar braced herself she closed her eyes and prepared to take a hit, however, the attack never came. As silence filled the air, she opened her eyes and saw the serpent's eyes soften as they followed the movements of something. Briar looked back and saw the cloaked woman walking toward the serpents as the sait followed behind her.
The cloaked woman stood between the sea and Briar as her cloak hit the ground and the moonlight showered her in its beauty. Long curls in greyish blues cascaded down her black hair, eyes that held the entire sparkling ocean, a statuesque figure that exuded cocky confidence, and a wide beautiful smile that graced you with a melodic voice, "You have resided in my kingdom for almost a day and I have forgotten to give my introduction, it seems my melancholy has gotten the best of me, and for that, I apologize. Allow me to introduce myself, I am the current crowned princess of the Kingdom of Waves, she who commands the sea and leviathans alike with a whisper, Kalea Tethys".
