Hey hey hey, how's everyone doing! Things are still super stressful for me, but I haven't colored these two in a while and I thought it would be good to see their designs in the comic again! Still holding out till the 18. of August where Ill finally be able to relax 'cause I'll be done with all my stuff for college.
As for Doom's power: Essentially, what I tried to explain visually is that she sees the material truth of an object. She knows what is inside of it and what it's made of, technically down to the atoms, but obviously the more detail the more difficult it is to interpret.
Basically, had she met Rose Quartz in her time, she would've been able to look at the gem and immediately know that her gem is, in fact, that of a Pink Diamond, just rotated. However, she cannot deduce what a gem is thinking or what their personality is like just looking at their gem, as this involves interpreting energy signals in extreme complexity. Like, we know that neurons in our brain fire sometimes, but even a full neuron scan of a brain doesn't naturally tell us who this person is.
I hope that made it a bit more clear! I will see you all next week for the next page, where a more complex episode will finally begin!
