Our lives started to slow down in the 4 months following. Before anyone really knew it, the year changed & more importantly, Prom was coming soon. Sure, we still had about a month & a half left, but the excitement was in the air. Demi got to be home for a while & while I was happy to have her back, she seemed stressed. Meeting Scortch seemed to really mess with her, but he was keeping a low profile. Angie & I were on better terms again after discovering what she was. Crow was a bit more reserved with me afterwards though, becoming more quiet like he was before we got close. It... it hurt my heart a little bit, admittedly; I had tried to not think about it but... I decided to talk to Demi & Malcolm about it. I think they had gotten together about a month ago, but weren't telling me. Well, Malcolm knows that I know something's up; I caught him sneaking out of Demi's room 3 weeks ago, shirtless. & I'm not dumb. Once I got downstairs, I could clearly hear them whispering & giggling to each other; it was cute to hear.
"Malcolm! Shhh! Luna might hear you."
"Demi, you have a bare minimum half divine person living in your house. I think she's been listening to this conversation for a while."
He... He isn't entirely wrong.
"All the more reason for you to hush!"
"Oh, so then it's ok to just whisper in your ear like this-"
"AH, NO!"
"Haha... well, now who's being loud Tre-! L-LUNA, hi!"
I came around the corner & Malcolm noticed me first. His arm was around Demi's shoulders & he was incredibly red in the face; Demi stood up from the couch in a hurry, staring at me. "We need to talk." I said. Demi sat back down, sighing while I sit in another chair. "Luna, baby, I-" "It's not about this. I already knew actually." She shoots him a glare & Malcolm hides his face, getting even redder. "Oh not like that. Gross. I woke up to use the bathroom & caught him leaving. But, that's not what I wanted to talk about." Demi relaxes, leaning on Malcolm. "What is it?" I took a deep breath. "Um... you remember how Scortch said Crow was my boyfriend...? & you leaned into him really hard about it?" Demi nodded, scowling. "Unfortunately." Malcolm also nodded, having been caught up on everything along with the rest of the precinct after it happened. "Well... it's not completely a lie. W-We aren't dating o-or anything but..." "You want to?" Demi says; I nodded. "How do you know he likes you?" Malcolm asked. "I uh... he got sick over here one night a while ago. I accidentally saw his memories & feelings so um... t-the point is that I know." They look at each other. "Does Crow know that you know?" I shook my head. "It's been a while since we last spoke... even at school. It's been a month... I think I scared him off somehow." Malcolm smiled, shaking his head. "You Clark women... I swear-Luna, you know he likes you. You seem to feel something for him too. The easy part is that men are fairly simple. Tell him you like him next time you see him." I went quiet. "What... what if I don't know if I like him like that?" Malcolm chuckled. "Ok then... we're doing this the long way I see." He adjusts how hes sitting on the couch, Demi sitting up reluctantly.
"Luna, when you see him after a long, rough day, do you get happy to see him?"
"Of course."
"Does it feel like nothing could go wrong with him with you?"
"Well... yeah, mostly."
"If your powers were gone & you two were in danger, do you think he would protect you?"
"Yes-"
"He does it now."
Demi joined in on that one, making me chuckle. "Luna honey, you want my opinion?" There was a chuckle belonging to someone else. "Or mine?" All of us immediately jump up, backs to adjacent walls. Demi pulls out a pocket knife & based on Malcolm's reaction, he never even knew she had one. "Who the hell are you." she growls. "Oh, right. I forgot, you're fiesty. Fine, fine." A handsome man stepped out of the shadows, hands up with long purple hair. He's chocolate colored, with surprisingly bright brown eyes; he's wearing an over sized jacket, which he wears loosely. Under neath it is a plain black shirt with equally black jeans & boots. He also wears black fingerless gloves & pink painted nails. & for the first time, his energy is entirely friendly & warm. It was like seeing a heart warming scene in a movie, or a blissful moment. It was... "Love...?" He scoffs. "It's Agape, actu-" He sees me & is taken aback. "Oh wow... Mother you're... y-you're actually..." He seems to be shockked that I'm in front of him. His entire demeanor changed. "I-I'm sorry. I didn't expect... um, I thought you & your people knew I was here." Demi groaned, putting her knife away. "No. Absolutely not. Everything just calmed down- get out." Demi says, clearly frustrated by who & what's in front of her. "You s-" "Get the HELL. Out of MY. House." Demi is shaking faintly. Agape notices this. "Ok. Ok, I'll go." He appears to vanish, leaving behind a purple rose. Demi walks over & picks it up, sighing. "He... really left?" Malcolm put a hand on Demi's shoulder. "I should've asked him-" "Yes?" He's behind us now, grinning shyly. "First off, stop that." Demi sighs while Agape gives me a bashful look. What's up with him? "Well, let's hear it. Explain yourself." Demi said, defeated.
"Sooo... what is it you want? Like my back story or something?" Agape asks while sitting on the couch beside me. Demi is visibly uneasy, but sometimes relaxes. Agape also notices. "That would be a good start." Malcolm says, trying to help ease Demi's nerves. "Ok then. My name is Agape, God of Love, born once, transfered... uh, what year is it? 20... eh who cares. Transfered more times than I can count, I know that." What? "I-I'm sorry, what?" Malcolm said; you could almost hear his gears in his head turning. "It's-" "A greeting. A way to show respect." I murmered; why did I know that. Agape smiles. "The only reason Mother-" Demi growled. Malcolm squeezed her shoulder. "Could guess that & what I'm god of is cause of her age. N-Not to say you're like old or anything but uh..." he forced air through his teeth, as if embarrassed. "I am really blowing this, aren't I?" Demi rolls her eyes. "Spit it out already." She has very little patience. Agape gulps, looking more startled now at Demi's tone. "A-All I'm saying is that her magic... it's old. Older than anyone, anything I've ever known or met, including me... Mother's power is older than everything. It's why she's called Mother; it's one of the oldest known words." Demi scoffed. "So is dirt & spit." Agape sneered. "She demands more respect than that, wouldn't you agree?" The tention between the two of them was so strong, you couldn't avoid it. "Y-You were saying Agape?" Malcolm says. "Her magic is old. & all these younger gods can't tell for some reason. We're not sure why, but I was just sent to check up on you. But knowing this now... Mother, what is the earliest thing you remember?" I look at him. "Um... I remember my Momma." Agape stood up quickly. "Your... I have to go." He's gone in an instant, this time leaving a tiny purple gift box. I pick it up & open it... a beautiful necklace, with a black feather on the end. My phone suddenly rings; it's Crow. "Hey. You busy?"
Fun Fact: Agape is based off of one of the first ever characters I ever made as far as looks. The story was never posted but it was the first thing I ever created & finished. His name was Daisuke.
