📰Weekly Spotlight's Breaking news: Colored Entertainment is said to be working on adapting one of Author Nithan Sage's novels.
Maybe Someday author Nithan Sage is getting another of his works adapted. And this time it is by none other than Colored Entertainment!
Inside sources have revealed that a contract had been signed by both parties and even the script has been finalized. The production house is currently busy with recruiting the cast.
Our correspondence has tried to reach Author Nithan Sage. But we were unable to get in contact with him as he is currently visiting his hometown Vlomot for the new year's holiday.
We hope the author enjoys his break as things will get busy once the production begins. We fans, can't wait to find out if the adaptation is going to be of our favorite the record-breaking Maybe Someday or the author's favorite the award-winning Murder at Grayville.

The drive to the Sage house was quiet. The BMW rolled down the slight slope to the main road. Nith sat in the passenger seat, wiping away the red lipstick from his lips. The scarves he had on him lay folded on his lap with Kate's purse. Kate drove slowly, stopping at every turn and crossroad unlike how she would usually drive. Blasting through everything in sight.
She was taking her time to enjoy Nith's adversity.
"No one can know about this."
Kate glanced at him from the corner of her eyes. She nodded with her lips pressed together to stop herself from laughing. She wasn't trying very hard.
"You can't show anyone that picture." The picture that she had taken the minute they got inside her mother's car. A souvenir to remember their great escape.
Kate busted out laughing, slumping over the steering wheel. The car swayed a bit before the girl took back control. Nith glared at her from his side. Something he hadn't done in years. He had forgotten how annoying she could be if she wanted to.
"But you looked so pretty!" she sang as Nith continued to glare. "Fine." Slowly she drove into the Sage's driveway. "Don't worry. Who will I show it to, anyway?"
"I don't know," he grumbled, getting out. Laughing, Kate tagged behind him. "It's not funny!"
"It kinda is Dodo." She patted him on the back before stopping. Her eyes took in the sight before her, a small smile spreading across her features. The two-storied cottage-style house looked exactly the same as before; with its white picket fence and a front porch that was once filled with flowers of every color imaginable. The place where she had spent the most beautiful moments of her youth. It looked like home. "I haven't been here in a long time."
"Are you gonna cry?"
Kate turned back at him, brow arched. "Why? You gonna do that one-man production of Hamlet for us again?" Nith fumed. Biting her lips, she stopped the laughter from coming out as she climbed the front porch steps.
At times like this, he missed her a little bit less.
But he also fell for her a little bit more than before.
Kate leaned on the column to dry off her fake tears. And when she pulled her hair out of the cap along with the rubber band, his heart skipped a beat. It tinged.
Nith gulped. Maybe Jay was right. Maybe he was addicted to the heartache.
"Nith!" Lia screamed from the inside as soon as Kate opened the door. "Nith is that you?!"
Nith rolled his eyes as Kate glanced back, chuckling at him. He closed the door behind them. "Yeah."
A loud thud came next, along with a series of curses. "Who put the couch there!" the redhead yelled, running toward the front door almost crashing into the side table. She was still in her pajamas, hair all over her shoulder. "The cake! It tasted just" - Lia's eyes widened as they fell on Kate - "like moms," she finished slowly. She walked closer. "Kate?" A wide grin on her face. "It has been so long!" She jumped at the blonde, engulfing her in a hug.
Kate stumbled into Nith, laughing. Nith pushed her back on her feet, but his hand lingered on the small of her back. Lia swayed her. "You got taller!"
"Of Course, I got taller! Have you seen the guys in my family!" The grin on Lia's face was almost as wide as her head. "And I was in high school back then. What are you doing here? I just saw the photo of you on La-Luna Beach that you posted. Why didn't you tell me that you were in Vlomot when you called this morning?"
"Diversion, darling," Kate smirked. "Can't have the cameras following me here."
"So cool!"
"Wait! You thought she was in La-Luna," - Nith threw his coat inside the coat closet - "and you still didn't come to pick me up from the store?" Nith couldn't understand what was going on inside his sister's head. "What if that reporter saw us? And found out that Kate was here instead?"
"It was a reporter? I didn't know that." Lia shrugged as if she gave a damn. Nith grumbled. "Plus, I was on cake duty," she said as if it was an order from a Major. Nith shook his head, mumbling how much of an idiot his sister was as Kate fell on him in giggles. "But Katie! What are you doing here? You never mentioned coming to Vlomot for New years!"
"I -" Ocean blue eyes glanced at Nith briefly as she answered. Kate shrugged. "I just missed you all."
"Aww! We missed you too!" She planted a kiss on Kate's cheek, earning a loud gasp from Nith and a string of giggles from the blonde.
"Wait," Nith got in the middle, pushing the crazy redhead off Kate. "Since when did you guys get so chummy?"
Lia looped her arm around Kate's, leading her to the kitchen. "Ever since we became social media friends."
Nith walked behind them. "Why aren't we social media friends?" he asked. Lia snorted with a chuckle.
Kate shrugged. "Why aren't we, Nith?" she asked back.
"By the way, I love your lip tint! Who is it from?" Lia grabbed hold of the conversation once more.
Kate smacked her lips with a pout. "Isn't it pretty?" She reached inside her purse, bringing out the tint. "You can have it. It was for a promo. I have two more in my bag."
Lia's amber eyes sparkled at the product in hand. She squealed, hugging her once more. "This is why I love you, Katie." Nith pushed her off Kate once more. "Since you gave me something good. I will give you something tasty in return." Lia spun the girl around, dropping her in one of the island chairs in the kitchen. "Nith made mom's carrot cake." She brought out the box from the fridge.
This was not the cake Nith had left. Half of the cake was gone. His delicious cream cheese frosting was unevenly poured on top. It was bumpy and lumpy in places, indicating that Lia clearly didn't listen to a word he had said to her.
"What did you do to the cake?" Nith asked, mortified.
Lia ignored him, cutting a slice for Kate. "It tastes just like Mom's!"
"Don't give that to her!" He dropped the bag of carrots on the island, trying to grab the plate from Kate's hand. But Kate whirled her stool on the other side, taking a bite. Nith's hands dropped to his side as he watched her eat it. Her face ... expressionless as she went for the second bite.
Nith groaned, his hands skating through his hair. He had no idea how that cake tasted. If it tasted good or worse than the ones before. Did it even taste good enough for her to eat?
Kate chewed slowly. She nodded, "Well ..." Her eyes went past Lia's to Nith. While Lia looked at her with anticipation, Nith looked as if he had stopped breathing. "It tastes like Ann's."
"Really?"
Kate did a tiny nod, a shadow of a smile on her lips. "Try it." She cut him a small piece, holding the fork in the air for Nith to eat.
He edged closer to her chair, face inching forward toward her awkwardly as he took the bite.
"I told you it tasted like Mom. Dad almost cried when he had it. He's been in his room ever since."
Kate offered him another bite. It tasted closer but not similar. He started making these cakes knowing that they would never taste like Ann's but this was beyond his expectations.
She took another bite for herself. When she spoke again it sounded as if she would cry any minute. "It tastes just like hers. Exactly like hers." She looked up, her eyes watery. "Can you make it again?"
Immediately, Nith nodded. He crouched down to reach her eye level, cupping her face gently in his hand; smiling at her. "A hundredth time. Until you get sick of it."
Kate smiled back, and after taking a deep breath she took another bite. "Good. Good," she sniffled.
"Lia," he called for his sister, "get my phone."
"Why?"
"Katie is about to cry. I need to take a picture of it," he teased.
Kate smacked him on the forearm, lightly pushing him away. She shook her head. "You used to be nice. But now the fame has got to your head. You became mean Dodo."
"You took a picture first!" Nith laughed, whipping away a bit of tear that made its way with his palm. "Still I'm nicer since I let you know."
"Bleh!"
Lia cleared her throat, loud and ghastly for the situation. "Okay ..." She looked away, feeling awkward in her own house. "Since I have no idea what you guys are talking about, I will just go ... and check on Dad. See if he called Olive or not."
"Olive?" Kate questioned.
"Oliver, our pastry chef for the bakery."
"Yeah." Lia walked backward out of the kitchen. Glancing back at them, she yelled, "Might as well say it now, Nith!"
"Shut it!" Nith grumbled back, walking behind the counter. He cut another slice for Kate. "Want more?"
Kate nodded, finishing off the last bit of cake on her plate. "You need to bring this tomorrow."
"Where?"
"See! I totally forgot to tell you." She tucked her strawberry blonde hair behind her ear before bringing out a card from her purse. "Mother has invited you and the family for dinner tomorrow night."
Nith wiped his hand on the kitchen towel before he took the invitation in his hand. The gold envelope was sealed with a wax emblem of the Aurum family crest. Inside was a note with the time and date written in Beth Aurum's pretty cursive writing. "Beth still makes handwritten invitations?"
Kate shrugged, "Aurum tradition or shit. Make sure you guys are there by 7. You know how crazy mother gets." Nith nodded; he knew that very well. "And bring this." She pointed at the cake on her plate with her fork.
Nith laughed, dumping the carrots into the sink. "I will bring enough to feed you for three days straight."
"Good."
