RoaR#7
Screaming sounds full of pain could be heard echoing throughout the forest. The barbarian was sitting down and eating the food that they got from their attackers and was very happily chewing. The elf was looking at him and smiling. They both acted as if they did not hear the screams.
The screams were coming from the man that tried to steal the gold. He was on the ground holding his face and screaming loudly. His screams subsided after a while and as he held only half of his face he shouted.” You Barbarian filth!!!! I shall make you pay for this!!! Even if it’s the last thing I do!”. He lifted his other hand and the other half of his face was almost burned off and it was basically melted. He grit his teeth with anger.
Roar finished eating and was content and happy now that he was full. He then looked towards the elf confused as to why there is so much noise. The elf pointed towards the man on the ground and he nodded. He looked at him with a straight face. “What you did wasn’t nice.”.
The man was beside himself with anger and opened his eyes wide and looked at the barbarian. “I shall make you suffer! I will make sure that you won’t get to eat anything else”.
Roar became angry at his statement. He firmed his stance and began running towards the man on the ground. once he got to him, he kicked him so hard that a piece of the ground was blasted away with him and a hole formed where the man was. The man got kicked so hard and so fast that he had no time to react, he just felt pain and saw that he was in the air. He went through many trees until he reached a clearing far away from the place that he got kicked from.
The man was battered and bruised and could barely get up. Once he got up, he was still wobbly on his feet. Suddenly he heard a scream that was coming closer. He looked more closely and saw something coming towards him with great speed from a distance. He was surprised and scared and wanted to dodge but because the damage that he had sustained was too great he could not move in time and he got hit by it. And was thrown again towards a tree that he went through. He got up with greater difficulty this time and looked at what was thrown at him and saw that it was one of his injured archers. His face changed as he heard more screaming in the woods. “Damn you, you filthy ba……..!” but before he could finish, two more injured archers were thrown into him and he went through even more trees. Screams and curses could be heard throughout the woods as well as the sound of trees breaking.
Roar was looking towards the trees and smiling and clapping his hands to dust them off, then he looked back at the elf. “That was the last of them.”
The elf looked on with a smile.” Why did you let them go?”.
Roar walked back to sit around the fire.” They did nothing to deserve anything worse.” Roar was staring at the fire.
“What could they have done to deserve worse?” the elf was taken aback by what he said.
“Hurt you.” Roar stated with a heavy voice.
The elf blushed and looked down. They sat there, both silent.
After a few minutes of thinking, the elf was ready to say what was on her mind. “You know what?”.
“What?” Roar looked at her.
“You can take half of what’s in the chest.” The elf motioned towards the chest that they had and then looked at him with a smile.
Roar was looking at the fire. “Why?”.
“What do you mean, why? You deserve it. Don’t you want meat?”. The elf looked at him with a serious expression.
Roar looked at his stone, nodded and then looked back at the fire.” I do but….” Roar stopped talking. Then he looked towards the elf with a smile. “Let’s rest for now.”
“No not yet. We need to decide on this matter right now. You need to be compensated for the effort that you put in. you risked your life many times.” the elf was adamant about this matter and wanted Roar to take half.
“You need sleep elf. You are spouting nonsense.” Roar was looking at the fire with a serious expression.
“What do you mean? You deserve half of this. You don’t even have one gold coin to your name, do you?” the elf became angry that he was dodging the subject and trying to change it.
Roar got up, looked at her with a serious expression and shouted. “What about Eina?!!!”.
The elf was frozen in place and looked down. She could not say anything in response to what Roar just said.
Roar looked at the elf and saw her expression. He felt bad for her.” Go sleep elf. You need it. I will stand guard.” And he sat back down and kept looking at the fire.
The elf looked at Roar, gave up and went towards the tent. “Wake me up when you want to sleep so I stand guard.”. Roar nodded and she went inside the tent to sleep.
Time went by and now the sun was peaking from under the cover of the night.
Singing birds could be heard as light shone through the tent that the elf was sleeping in. Once the light reached her eyes, she suddenly opened them and went outside. She looked around and found no one. the fire had died down and the place that Roar had been sitting on was still warm. “He stood guard till the morning.” She looked at the injury that the skeleton general had inflicted on her and smiled. It was healing for she had enough resting time. “Thank you.” Said the elf with a smile. But then she looked towards the heavy chest and sighed, now that she had to bring it all the way back by herself.
A distance away from the camp.
Roar was walking down the path that appeared when he left the camp. He looked at his stone. “Why did we have to leave like this?”
A voice then spoke into Roar’s mind.” You won’t understand, idiot. Just walk.”.
“Hmm. I feel like I forgot something though.” Roar seemed like he was used to the abuse of the voice.
“Nothing that matters.” The voice spoke again.
Faraway from where the camp was situated. The bandits that tried attacking Roar and the elf were sitting down in a circle.
“What now boss?” said one of the injured archers.
“Yea we got nothing from them.” another added.
Their boss started laughing.
“Has the boss gone crazy?” said the third injured archer.
They looked at him, scared.
“No, you fools. Look at what I snatched from that crazy barbarian while I was fighting him.”
“You mean when he had you in his grip?” said one of them.
The boss became angry.” Shut up. Look!” he threw a big red gem shaped like a skull in their midst.
They all were surprised and started praising their boss.
“Amazing work boss.”
“a genius at work.”
The boss was happy at their compliments and smiling with his hideously burned face.
one of them got close to it, looked back at them and asked.” Why is it shaped like a skull though?”
Suddenly a big rumble shook the ground as a big skeleton general spawned in place of the gem that was on the ground.
“a…a...a…skeleton general?!!!!” shouted one of them.
Screams, shouts, curses and trees breaking could be heard coming from the forest.
The barbarian heard the faraway noises. “Man, this is the loudest forest that I’ve ever seen!”. And continued his path.
