THIRD PERSON
Screams of pain and crying could be heard outside the walls of the wooden house, a mother carried her 5-year-old son while her husband opened the safe shelter they had in the basement. As soon as the door opened the woman placed his son inside, confused and curious green eyes looked at her.
“Mommy, why so much noise outside?” The boy asked covering his ears, eyes getting teary.
“Sweetie, I need you to listen to Mommy, okay?” The woman said, grabbing the boy by the cheeks. “Mommy and Daddy need you to stay here, don’t make any noise or try to open the door, okay?”
“Yes, Mommy.” The boy nodded, still covering his ears, shaking in fear and trying to hold back the tears that filled his eyes.
“Good, that’s my boy.” The woman left a kiss on his son’s forehead, a tear running down her cheek. “Don’t come out until we or Uncle Rendall comes for you.”
“Mommy not staying with me?” The boy’s face went pale, grabbing his mom’s arm, not letting her go. “
“No sweetie, Mommy, and Daddy need to do something first.”
“But Mommy I don’t want to be alone.” The boy said between sobs, tears already falling down his cheeks and hands still holding tight to his mother.
“You won’t be alone sweetie, Vivi is with you and we will always be here.” The woman placed her hand on the boy’s chest where his heart was.
“Linda! Hurry up. They are getting close.” The alpha screamed at her wife, the man was nervous, the enemy could come in any minute now and he wanted to make sure their son was safe before fighting them. He came close to them, looking at his little kitten. “Remember son, no noise.”
“But Dad—”
“Victor, son. Be a good boy and stay here. It’s just like when we play hide-and-seek.” The man interrupted his son, caressing his hair and leaving a soft kiss on his head.
One last family hug, words of love whispered and then the shelter door was closed, leaving the boy alone inside. The shelter walls may have been soundproof, but the piercing screams of the couple reached the sensitive ears of their little boy. Frightened, the boy closed his teary eyes, covering his ears tightly with his hands, hoping and wishing that it was all just a nightmare. And that at any moment he would wake up and be with his parents eating the chocolate cake that they had prepared together that afternoon.
The noises went on for a while and then it was all quiet. No noise could be heard from outside but as the boy had promised his parents, he didn’t come out. Like the good boy, he was he waited patiently for them to come for him. Steps were heard in the direction of the shelter door and he got excited thinking his mommy had come back for him, the door slowly opened and the smile from his face was erased.
“U-uncle Rendall, where’s mommy?”
“I’m sorry, little guy. We’re late…” Rendall answered, looking into the boy’s eyes.
That was all Victor needed to know, tears began to fall down his cheeks again as he cried loudly for his parents, feeling a lot of pain in his chest. The wolf felt sorry for the poor boy and hugged him, picking him up in his arms to comfort him.
“It’s okay Victor, everything will be alright. I promise…” Rendall whispered in his ear, walking out of the house, not allowing the little one to see the atrocious and horrible scene that was in what the little boy used to call his home…

Meanwhile, in a place far from Bramville, a 9-year-old asian boy was standing at the end of an alley, dressed in dirty old clothes, as well as covered in wounds. Rocks thrown at him accompanied by insults and curses due to his nature. The poor boy tried to defend himself but the lack of life essence prevented him from using his abilities and instead, he was pinned to the wall, looking at his bullies in the eyes.
“How dare you look at us with those filthy eyes. I should take them from you.” One of the bullies said in disgust, taking a rock in his hand and placing it about the dhampir’s right eyebrow then moving it down across his eye, ripping the skin with the sharp edge of the stone; blood marking its way down.
The loud screams of pain were heard around the alley and before the stone go to his other eye, a heavy aura filled the alley. Shivers went down their spines and the bullies turned into bats leaving the place and the wounded boy alone in that cold and dark alley. Covering his eye in pain, he looked up at a mysterious man standing in front of him, he wore elegant clothes, and by his aura and scent, the boy knew it was a high-rank alpha vampire.
“What’s your name boy?” The man asked looking down at him, he doubted whether he should answer or not, but opted for doing it. He wasn’t losing anything by doing it.
“Kang Dae…” Between sobs, he answered the aristocrat’s question.
“Well Kang Dae, from now on you’ll be working for me.” The man offered his hand to help him up and even if he didn’t trust him, Kang Dae took that stranger’s hand without knowing that his life would change from that moment on.
17 YEARS LATER
Victor was in his studio, sitting in front of his laptop while editing the photos he had taken at Julien and Byron’s wedding. He stopped to admire a beautiful picture from the ‘you may kiss your husband’ moment, the couple looked so happy and he envied them. Wishing that he could also find someone that loved him that way, all his life he had been unlucky with love, he had been used for his money, cheated on, two timed and so many more situations.
But even when his experience with that so-called ‘love’ wasn’t always the best, he never stopped believing and hoping that one day he would find his soulmate, his fated mate. Remembering the smell that reached his nose before when he was on his way to the studio, it was a sign his fated mate may be in Bramville, Vivi had pointed it out, but the omega didn’t know whether to feel happiness or fear. What if their mate didn’t accept him and was just like the other assholes that got into his life?

Kang Dae had unpacked his things in his new apartment and took out the files he had brought with him, reading them once again and looking at the photo of the lifeless body of his master, he had been a fool for leaving him alone back then, his job was to protect him but he had failed. And now, there was only one way to regain his honor: revenge.
His plan was simple, infiltrate the town, investigate more about his enemy, and then when they least expect it, attack them and make them pay for what they did.
