RoaR #2
The elf stood there flabbergasted.” Where are all the monsters?”
“I need to hunt something. My stomach demon is going crazy.” Roar was very hungry at this point having ran for quite some time. He did not even encounter one monster to slay.
“This has never happened before.” The elf looked around the cave and found some evidence of creatures having lived there. But there weren’t any left. While she looked at the traces and evidence, she did not pay attention to Roar who was fighting his stomach.
“Damn it boy. Calm down. Why are you like this?” Shouted Roar as he was wrestling with his stomach.
The elf was following evidence to see what happened and did not even hear Roar. She followed the evidence and traces to a hole in the cave wall. “I think what ever did this, lives beyond this.” She turned behind her to tell Roar “Hey I think its behind thi…..” but she was blasted away before finishing by him jumping into the wall and shouting.” Calm down boy.”. Roar brought the whole cave wall down and a very big door appeared.
The elf laid there in the rubble lamenting her bad luck at encountering this idiot then cleared the rubble that was on her and got up and looked at Roar still wrestling with his stomach and chalked it up to his stupidity. “Is this the main boss Room?”
“The what?” Roar was still struggling to contain his hunger and he was tired from all the wrestling so he was lying on the ground.
“The main boss is the biggest and strongest creature of this dungeon and it has what I want. No, what I need!!!” The elf looked very determined and she looked at Roar to see his reaction but was surprised to see that Roar had made a fire and was fanning it.
“You got me at big!” Roar was fanning the flames and even brought two seats for them to sit on and asked her to sit with him.
The elf was very surprised at the speed and resourcefulness that he showed at making these stuff in seconds and she obliged and sat with him and he continued.” You say it has what you need right?”
“Right” nodded the elf.
“Is your stomach demon angry as well?” Roar was very worried for her.” What now? My stomach demon doesn’t like to share food.”
The elf just looked at the fire and sighed. “Your stomach demon will be fine. I’m not hungry anyways.”
“Oh? Then what does it have other than its meat?” Roar was confused for only meat held value in his eyes.
“it’s complicated.” The elf was looking at the fire and sighed again.
Roar was very confused but then took a look at his stone and nodded. “Any pain that is shared in front of the fire becomes lighter for a piece of it burns off and becomes embers that fuel it further.”
The elf jerked her face towards him. Roar was looking at the fire with sad eyes. She was shocked to hear something so profound from someone who only thinks of meat and thought that sharing won’t hurt her. But not too much and In a way that even he would understand” Barbarian let me ask you what is the most important thing or person to you?”
“Meat!” said Roar without any hesitation but then he looked at the stone he had with him and started apologizing and looked at the elf with a stern look. “The Stone! Yea the stone not meat.”.
The elf looked at him confused again but continued. “So, let’s say the stone is breaking and…”
“There is no way. It can’t break. It’s unbreakable.” Said Roar interrupting her and to prove it he hit the ground with it but nothing happened to the stone.” See?”. The ground split at the point of impact.
The elf looked on surprised but composed herself quickly. “Ok its unbreakable. Let’s assume someone stole it”
“Hmmm but it can’t be stolen” Roar said with a straight face.
“What is wrong with you?” The elf was angry that he did not understand anything. But she was greeted by a straight-faced Roar that didn’t seem to understand what was going on.
“Ok. let’s say You forget the stone in ….” Continued the elf hoping that he would understand.
“But there is no way that ….” Roar interrupted her again.
“NO! NOT THIS TIME. YOU LOST THE STONE. UNDERSTAND?” The elf had it with him and was shouting from anger.
Roar saw that the elf was angry but did not know why so he looked on and nodded.
“The only way to get the stone back is by going in a deadly dungeon to kill its boss! Would you do it?” The elf continued hoping that he would understand.
“Hmm yea now I understand.” Roar’s expression changed at his understanding.
The elf was tired because of the whole explaining ordeal. “At last.” And they both sat in silence staring at the fire for a few minutes.
“So, this boss guy has your stone?” Said Roar with a serious look while looking at the fire.
“Yea.” The elf had given up trying to explain it to him and just accepted her fate and nodded with tears in her eyes.
